Root zergrush - what am I doing wrong?

srloin

Newbie
I've downloaded HTC Sync and installed, downloaded DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip from here

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582

When trying to run the runme.bat file it seems like it is working, reboots when the install is done, but when i run root check it says I do not have root access.

Is there anything I should look out for during installation?

I'm not sure which version of Doomlords you picked up. One does temp root(which a reboot will wipe out) and the other does perm root. First thing's first.

Uninstall Superuser.
Grab this One-Click: From XDA

Since Doomlords ran fine for you, this one should as well. They both use Zergrush method, but this one is tried and true for the Rezound.

I tried using this method and it seems to run. I see the superuser app listed but once the installation process restarts my phone, superuser is gone as is root. I saw on that link that I need to unlock bootloader. I haven't seen that mentioned in any other installation guides. Is that def. something I need to do?

In order to obtain permanent root, yes. Without the unlocked bootloader more or less everything goes back to the way it was when you reboot. So as is, you can have temp root all you want, but you have to re-apply on every reboot.

Thanks for the help, I finally got it rooted.
