Help zoom

Am I missing something? At the zoo and trying to zoom with samsung moment, but not finding an option. Does something need to be downloaded to add to the moment? Appreciate any help.

You can't zoom with the moment. You would need to download camera fx or something of the same nature to give you the option. I'm just pissed off that it costs money. I actually have to pay for something that should be on the phone already..... wth?

download camera magic. its free and has many of the basic features the default camera app is lacking

And realize it is a digital zoom....meaning you are doing nothing more than cropping the pic....which you could do on a computer anyway....

flyjbaker beat me to that point. Digital zoom is essentially nothing more than a lie, lol.

yeah but it is better than no zoom, and that app does re-focus it...too bad theres no hardware zoom like other sammy phones have

Which begs the question, does an Android phone exist that has optical zoom?

It's not very important to me, but it might be nice to know.

I would have to say no... as this would involve some complex inner workings in the camera and multiple lenses. We are not there yet.

And Digital zoom will always suck. Take a picture then use a good photo editor on your computer for cropping and get far superior results. Re-focussing within the camera does nothing for "digital zoom". This would mean that the image was out of focus to begin with.

If an image is sharp to begin with, then you will get the best results using a dedicated image processor. I personally use Nikon CaptureNX2, as it is what I am comfortable with. Probably not the best for JPEG but hey, I can do my RAW on it as well at the same time.
