Root zroot is frozen

I installed z4root and root explorer through drop box. I clicked temporary root and it started working but then just completely stopped and went back to home screen. Root explorer told me the device wasn't rooted yet so I went back to z4Root and it said the app wasnt responding. So I force closed it instead of waiting. Now when I try to get to the app it doesnt do anything at all. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I also tried to uninstall and reinstall but when i click settings>uninstall none of my apps are able to uninstall

Yes I am. I was able to uninstall the app and reinstall. Now when I run z4 it stays on the "running exploit in order to obtain root access..." . I'm trying to do a temporary root and its stayed on that screen for about 20 minutes now.

Temporary root does not seem to work very well on the Optimus M. Why not go ahead and do a permanent root? It can be undone as easily at it is done. Just one click.

ugh this is getting annoying! lol. I rebooted it after I tried the temp root which took forever also. Maybe I didnt save the app right. I downloaded it onto a notepad then placed it in my drop box folder, then with my phone I went to my account and downloaded it from there.

Although I did the same with root explorer which works fine.

ohh DUH!!!! I just looked in my phone info and I do have 2.2.1
I got confused since the box said it was 2.2. I will have to downgrade first and then run z4root right?

When I downgrade then root, is it possible to upgrade it again and still keep the bloatware off? Or will it return?
