ZTE AWE help.

hello, i recently had to switch from a nokia lumia to this phone and i was very impressed for the price. Now i have had the phone only a week and im getting very frustrated. i have juice defender app and the only app i use is clash of clans. i close it every time as soon as im done and i immediatley put the phone to sleep. the problem is that the phone does not stay full. after a full charge it only lasts about 3 hours. and it keeps getting very hot, too the point where i can feel it in my pocket all day.

well u still have somthing still running i can run about 6 hours at 1.9 mhz whith ou getting hot the gps can drain ur pbone really fast a.d get warm do some digging in ur phone

yes i agree there should be something running in the backround that would make my battery hot and drain the life so quickly. keep this in mind, im fairly new to this android OS. i downloaded an app so i could see which apps are open and running and the ones listed are all apps that i see required for the os to work when someone calls, texts, or anything else. Plus, when i go to close out of the apps listed as running. the second i close the apps i go back into see if they are closed and the apps just start running again. Now i understand certain apps will automatically open to accommodate to another app ect. Should i consider rooting my phone? i dont know what else to do.

it's also possible that you have a bad/weak battery. If you could exchange the phone from the point of purchase, i would consider that if all else fails

ok well I am able to purchase a new battery this weekend, considering I bought the phone from Wal-Mart and it came from an on the shelf box. I don't thing they will be able to get me a replacement battery. but I might be able to buy one. First off I am going to try to root the phone and see if that will help my juice defender app keep my battery full. if it does not work I will definitely try a new battery. thanks for your help, if it does not turn out I guess ill be back lol.

u can also freez programs to see whitch one is draining bat could be bad it happnes let us know if u fixed it

Rooting probably isn't going to do anything for you, what is using all the battery? You need to look at the battery screen to see what is going on. Install Better Battery Stats or GSam Battery Monitor and Wakelock Detector. Figure out what is using the battery, could be a rogue app or just general android bug.

This phone is buggy IME, I had to do a factory reset after my phone started draining battery due to wakelocks.
