Root ZTE Max Stock B05 4.1.2 Deodexed and Unmodified

Can the stormer stock B05 recovery be used to unbrick my boost max? I bricked iit installing beats audio apk and now it won't go past the 4g screen. I can access the system recovery and the FTM screen but my pc doesn't seem to recognize it (failed driver installation). Any help would be greatly appreciated

get a copy of virtualbox from this site...
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

install it, then download and run this file

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qv5vs4jdvpi9iq2/Unbrick.ova

import the virtual machine and itll be listed on the virtualbox window that pops up as Unbrick, double click it and itll load the tool up, superr can explain the process from there ;)

edit: once you get the virtual machine running, put your phone into dfu mode, and plug it in, you will need to hit the devices drop down menu, go to usb devices, and click the qualcomm device listed

I tried to flash the deodexed and debloated rom following the directions as they were in the op. I got an error when flashing and it would not install. I tried to just use my backup I created, but it said I had a mismatch of the md5 so it wouldn't work. I then tried a different memory card and it said it installed and to hit any button to continue. When I tried to reboot, it only reboots back to the PhilZ recovery. How do I fix my phone?

Sounds like you may have had a bad sdcard and it may have corrupted the files stored on it. md5 is a check to make sure the backup files have not been corrupted, and it sounds like they have been. It is fairly likely that the rom zip you are using got corrupted too. I suggest downloading it again.

Thanks for the reply. I tried redownloading the zip on a new card. Still having the same issue. When I try to install I don't get any errors. It says installation complete. When I try to reboot the system it only reboots into recovery. Any other suggestions?

You may want to check the md5 of the rom zip after download to be sure it did not get corrupted during the transfer. There are apps available for this, but i am not sure what to recommend since I don't use windows or mac. The md5 to check against is on the rom download page. If the md5 matches, then i am not sure what the problem is. I do not own one of these devices but based on other user experiences, the rom works. You could try one of the other roms as well.

Thanks for the help. I checked the md5 and it was fine. I tried flashing all 3 of the roms and got the same result. I tried re-wiping the data and cache. I got an error saying E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]. I have no idea where to go from here, never had trouble flashing roms before so I'm not sure what went wrong.

The only other thing i can think of is if you flashed a mod or a rom for the wrong device at some point that messed up some of your other partitions. If that is the case, we may be able to fix it with some modifications to the new unbrick tool.

Everything I've flashed has been from this forum. I used the steps in a different post to root and flash the PhilZ recovery. The only roms I tried were from the op here. Could there be a problem with the recovery itself?

Anything is possible, but based on other users experience PhilZ Recovery works (as long as you are using the one for this device lol). I believe cooldudezach has updated a few times so you may want to make sure you have the newest version.

The version I have is the one that is on the board here, 6.19.2. I tried to use the unbrick tool from another post. The tool said the device was now unbricked, however, I still can not get out of recovery. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm back up and running. Something was up with the recovery. I wiped /cache, /system, and /data in PhilZ and then flashed the stock rom and stock recovery. Everything was able to boot up. I then reflashed PhilZ recovery and then flashed the debloated and deodexed rom. Everything is running nicely. No idea what was going on, but thanks a ton for all the assistance.

QQ: I flashed the deodexed unbloated rooted rom, and don't get me wrong it is very quick but I'm having issues with getting the play store up? I really only need a couple of apps like fb, flipbook and chrome should I just install them from apks?
