ZTE Merit to AVAIL?

Greetings-
Have an old (new) zte merit (net10) I may give to my 12yr old.
I wanted to unlock it and perhaps put custom rom on it. I found several forums and info about rooting, roms etc.. and also a blog (elizabeths blog) about unbricking and converting to att avail thru FTM mode etc..

However the Merit does not have this FTM mode .
Anyone have a tutorial or ever successful at sim unlocking the Merit?

If you read the post throughly, you would have seen that yes in fact you cannot get FTM mode with the merit. Download the bin files 1 2 & 3, flash it according to the instructions then the merit will then be the Avail, hence, FTM mode.
