Any idea how to allow over clocking in the stock kernel?

i do not think you can with the stock kernel

the source would need modding. and the acpu tables would need to be edited

the guys that work on the awe and warp lte made and OC kernel that used the same source as the Radiant, maybe they can build one for you

I am not much into OCing, and I have my hands full with CM

Has anyone has any success with tethering with this phone? I've rooted mine ands tried many apps but they've come to no use. Somebody please help.

Being a n00b here, I'd first like to say; Hi. Next, I'd like to say thanks for all the hard work on the Radiant. I got a z740 as a backup after I brutalized my S3... My first android. I learned quick that the S3 is the "Trident 1mb" of phones and had to hunt high and low for anything Radiant. THANKS!!!
My question(s) is/are about the CWM posted. After getting the .bat file to agree with everything (classic Win driver runaround) I got the touch version to work but ONLY from the .bat file with the phone hooked to the PC. Is that normal or can I boot into CWM "normally?" If so, how? Tried the pwr+vol (both up and down). With the S3 I used TWRP and it was stupidly easy. Honestly, I miss TWRP recovery on the S3.
Anyway, the loaded ROM is the "base/de-odexed" posted here. Flashed with the CWM posted here. Via the .bat file, everything works great. But, only via the .bats.
Again, thanks for the hard work.

Welcome to AF, sorry for the late response

it should go into recovery with vol up and power

even if cwm did not get installed, it should at least go into the stock recovery

you have to get the timing right

try pulling out the battery

putting it back in

hold vol up and power, and do not let go, and see if it goes into a recovery, either stock or cwm

Thanks for the welcome. No worries about "slow response," I understand that people have lives outside of the glorious WWW and I sincerely appreciate your taking the time to respond to my n00bish question.
Again, thanks for the hard work. The CWM works like a charm via .bat file. Win, lose, or draw I am happy with it. The base ROM works great. Is the CM11 still being worked on? Once I am a little more comfortable with the phone I'll be willing to test it. I do need the camera but I have a decomm'd LG with a better camera and wifi if push comes to shove.
Again, thanks. Actually joined the forum for this and the CM11 threads. Thrilled that the Radiant is getting some attention - it's actually a decent phone. Aside from the 2GB RAM of the S3 I don't miss it. Too delicate.
Be cool!

camera is going to be hard to do, and I dont really have the time anymore to work on it

good news is, some more devs may be picking up where I left off

see this thread for details

Thanks. As said, I am using de-odexed "base" ROM and like it. Real life is a mofo, no grudge here. Thanks for the link. You have answered all I have asked, thanks. Best wishes.
Since I do have a decomm'd vs920 the camera is not a killer, the ZTE one sucks anyway.
Be cool,

BTW I am an old DOS head, QEMM/386MAX and DOS4G extender. A driver and BIOS nerd. Used to be an NT networking guy. Langley contracts. Thanks for your effort, you did the hard parts.

me too, still am an IT consultant, the Android and Linux stuff is just for hobby

you have a good foundation to build on if you want to learn this stuff

Thanks for the encouragement. Actually installed the SDK and prepping main PC for Mint (cinnamon). Very rusty but interested. After Bard's Tale on the Radiant really can't resist delving into Android. Too bad I lack the skill and time to port Planet's Edge over :)
As soon as I'm done with my truck's engine (you don't want to know) I plan to get deeper into Android. Reminds me so much of DOS it's crazy. Actually MISS DOS. Win95 was like a kick in the jimmy.
Anyway, I'll check back when I have more time. Very interested.
Thanks, again.

Thanks for your work with the ZTE I had to fire up my old membership to thank you.I haven't modded a phone since the D1 first came out running a beta steam ROM Lol so its been a while

Still haven't figured the timing to boot into CWM, always get the stock one. From the .bat file everything works, probably just my non-clever digits... The "Base" ROM is working out great. Zero issues. Not a lot of free time but digging into it when I can. Very rusty on the old PC stuff, Android is often very confusing.
The tester ROM is way over my head. Will try to work harder ;-)

If you want hotspot to work on stock just copy the files from the cm 11 build and paste them to stock location for files needed are

/system/bin/hostapd and /system/bin/hostapd_cli

make sure you look at the files permission before you overwrite them.

@hroark - STILL having trouble with CWM unless using the .bat file via Win7. Was able to "push" CWM to my VS920 via ADB but recovery area is different in the Radiant. Would the same commands work if the differences were adjusted for the ZTE? If so, can you confirm the recovery address? My info says it's mmcblk0p16.
What I used (successfully) for the VS920 (LG Spectrum 4G) was:

adb push cwm_touch.img /sdcard/cwm_touch.img
adb shell
su
mount -orw,remount /dev/block/system /system
rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
dd if=/sdcard/cwm_touch.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
exit
exit
adb reboot recovery

Thanks in advance.
