P.S. it's a windows program, likely it works only on XP32, hardly Seven 32, surely not Seven 64
Checked with adb root => adb is already running as rootYou must
A) root the phone
to which location?B) check for working adb shell (there are a lot of tutorials about this)
C) flash the recovery.img (included in my rom from post #8)
Volume + and power are not working for meD) get in to recovery with one of the known methods: volume+ and power (remove the battery if doesen't work), quickboot from the market, the command adb reboot recovery form PC's command prompt.
Ok, got it!My rom is inside the 7zip package, you have to unpack it, you can't rename the whole 7zip to zip, and you cant use the stock updater because the signature is not from ZTE, this is the main point to have a custom recovery.
BTW, my rom is superseded from Catty's releases.
to which location?
Works; had installed ETO-Version beforeRecovery.img.apk - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
Should be a working recovery.img.apk.
I don't know as apk is not able to flash it to my device...it switches off and then to battery charging screen if i leave it attached to USB or to OFF when not attached to USBrecovery.img - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
Should be the matching recovery image.
download the recovery from the link below, and then unzip them to a clean foloder and then click on reco.bat to start installation of your recovery.Hey guys!
I don't know why but recovery is not working for me.
I have touble to get into recovery mode. When i hold power and Volume+ button during start it shows (Original?) G3-logo and then nothing happens. Even if i continue to hold both buttons it starts(vibrate)-shows logo-black screen?-starts(vibrate)-shows logo...and so on.
I now tried to flash solutors B13 rom (renamed to update.zip) via settings/about/System updates but no luck again. It starts, reboots the phone into recovery mode (why is this working from here and not if i try to do it manually?), then i do get a screen with statements:
And i end up with my old chinese rom which i want to replace...
- finding update package...
- opening update package...
- verifying update package...
- E: signature verification failed
- Installation aborted.
- Rebooting...
Yes! Now i have recovery access. Thanksthere's a script file in the custom recovery folder, just connect the phone double click on it, after that your recovery should be flashed and you should be able to use it, as described above.
Ok, update i've looked in to the installer, looks like the spreadstrum baseband is not included.
BTW according to the images size I'm able to understand what's the recovery image.
It's the file called G:\Program Files\ZTE\DL_U960_CMCC_CHN_EU\version\RF.ZTE so should be sufficient to replace it with the custom recovery image (recovery.img) to have the phone flashed and rootable.
I tried to update through that OneClick-File now but am not able to get it runnning. Maybe my Chinese is too bad
I think that the key is to first install the usb driver which you find under the Win32Driver folder inside the Installation directory...
Currently I don't have a winxp box to try... Under win7 x86_64 it doesn't work...
You can use the XPmode virtual machine, virtualbox, vmware, whatever, no need to have a true xp machine.
have you tried both wipe and nowipe versions ?
I can't see any problem using the OC kernel on the older rom, BTW is better to understand why the v1.5.1 isn't working for you.
You could start to post a screenshot of the result of
*983*154# (mask the serial numbers)
to see if we can see any obvious differences.
