I verify and repacked the zip ...

do you think is it safe upgrade from stock 2b07 and then restore app and data with titanium backup?

The faster way is to backup the system trough the recovery, flash the update then restore the data partition only, with the advanced restore menu.

If it works the task is done very quickly and with just 3 steps.

If it doesn't, just wipe again and restore the single apps with titanium.

I've successfully updated my phone to the latest catty's ROM and restored all my apps and data by restoring the data partition from the recovery.

I looked briefly in to it and I haven't found any obvious place to edit.

Maybe I'll look deeper in the future, to understand where those same strings are stored
 
First of all i must say a big thanks to catty62 for the amazing rom.
All are working very nice except one strange think that in not from the rom. I am from Greece and i have installed Multiling keyboard for writing in Greek. 2 days now worked perfect but today for unknown reason one letter even if i put to upper case it still shows in low case. For example i write ΚΗπΟΣ and the p is small. I reinstall the program, i tried other program, i wipe and update the rom from the beggining but the problem is there. :confused:
Anyone can help with this??

Ok found it, given I use two vodafone SIMs I used the plan name, rather the operator one.

The text sown over the button is inside Contacts.apk

You need to edit a couple of strings in the file

Contacts.apk\res\values-it\strings.xml ( the values-it folder is for italian, values-fr for french and so on)

In bold you can see the string you will see above dialer's green buttons

<string name="app_name">Dialer</string>
<string name="str_calltd">SIM1</string>
<string name="str_callw">SIM2</string>
<string name="send_mess">Invia messaggio</string>
<string name="call_set">Impostazioni chiamate</string>
<string name="view_contact">Visualizza contatto</string
[...]

To edit the file you need to decompile and recompile the Contacts.apk with apkmanager, apktool or similar tool, Internet is plenty of tutorials about this task.

the mod listed above only affects the dialer, if you want the custom writing also on the SMS app you need to apply the the instructions above to the file mms.apk.

Btw, on b206 ussd on sim1 is worked well, but in b207 again broken, it shows me some weird symbols while checking balance. have anyone else such problem?
is it possible to rollback to 2b06 without "ClickOne updater"?

Did you make a backup from recovery before updating ? If you made a backup you can restore it from the recovery
