Root ZTE Warp Sync - All Things Root Guide

Has anything shady been found out about Kingroot? I'm sorry but i am a paranoid person and don't trust anything lol.
 
I used it. In fact it is what gave us root. Once rooted you can install super su-me from the play store to remove kingroot and replace it with super su. You should install the rooted dedoxed rom after installing new recovery though.

I hate to be the bearer of crappy news but I accessed it by looking up "ZTE dialer codes" with Google. You'll pull up several phones & codes but look at the newer model phones. Their dialer codes are almost universal across models but I remember the Sync had newer systems and the newer codes accessed more stuff (like test mode & radio band switcher)... And like 5 diff hidden menus. Wish I could help more but the Sync is the least known device to many of us. If I hadn't bricked mine, you'd already have an exact answer. Do NOT switch the radio from CDMA to WCDMA in the US, I tried. Not useful in any way. And you'll lose 3G capability until you return to the original setting

Hey I'm fairly new at the whole custom ROM scene, I've only flashed one other phone with CWM. I now have my Sync rooted with TWRP flashed. I have made a backup and I am ready to wipe and flash. When flashing the custom image do I flash to boot or recovery. Also is there a way to boot into TWRP from power off that doesn't require a computer?

Device off: Hold Vol down + power until you see green Andy
 
Does anyone know of a working app to share my data connection with. Did I miss something when I rooted this phone? I thought that once rooted I would be able to use WiFi hotspot apps or share my data.
 
I just realized something.. ZTE Tech dept deserves credit for me finding Root for the Sync as well. They told me to watch for KingRoot.. So - Props ZTE!!
 
Yeah.. Back When I got thru to tech dept that last time and I got frustrated about their technicalities concerning Root.. I got so stressed about the other stuff I forgot that detail.. So I just gave credits in case ZTE tech dept was part of KingxTeam.. Think about it..
