ZTE Z990 Avail Recovery Problem

After rooting and installing recovery img, I made a backup,then rebooted. After reboot, I rebooted into recovery. None of the buttons respond! I had to remove battery to reset phone. I then rebooted into recovery again,but the same result; none of the buttons worked. I then reinstalled stock recovery, then reinstalled recovery.img and it preformed normally untill I rebooted out of recovery and tried to boot back into recovery. Recovery menu appears but buttons won't work. Any help to fix problem would be appreciated.

What method did you use to get into recovery?

I used the volume down + menu key + power key, which ,since you mentioned how I entered recovery,realized that was the wrong way. I tried Menu + volume up + power and recovery worked as it should. Thanks for replying so promptly.

No problem. I was gonna mention that vol+ was the button you needed .
