Root Zte zmax ... Stock Rom

Jtso

Lurker
Hello everyone, so to start off (the short version) I'll answer any questions I need to. I rooted my, and I did it right on the first try. But than I tried to do more things, download ROM, any other useful tools from vids I seen. But me being new and kinda simple I forgot to do a back up of everything before hand,(device info, stock ROM,) and anything else I'd need to restore to unroot. I love that my phones rooted but I'm just not happy with the performance and accessibility of my phone and the ROM. Could some one please help me locate the custom ROM (and whatever else I'd need) so I can either restart and do it right or take it back to Walmart to upgrade to zmax 2 or even just get a new one?...
Any tips and/or help is much appreciated! Thanks! /:
PS: if you need more info on phone or anything else please feel free to ask

If it's a zmax. Which you're saying it is. Look through the root thread. You'll come across the stock ROMS. Master chief posted them

Ok I found the tmo stock ROM but I didn't know whether to download the ROM or recovery so I downloaded both, what's my next move?? Clearing the cache and system, than flash ROM or recovery?? I'm so confused , I don't wanna mess up anything more than i already have, (I guess it wouldn't be much my phone works perfectly, just as I said before not very happy with performance.../: )

If you only want to go back to the stockrom. Indeed Clear the cache, dalvik cache, system, and data. Then flash the ROM. Wait till its done. And then see if it boots. If it does, congratulations, you did everything right. If it doesn't, restore from a backup and try again. After checking that it boots, if you want to go to a completly stock phone, flash the recovery. Be aware, that zip will take away TWRP. Also, once you flash the stock-tmo ROM, you'll be prompted about an update. If you want to root again. Don't take it. If you never plan on rooting again, then make sure you have the stock recovery and install it

Okay thank you! A million times thank you! And thanks go out to all who helped me through this process (:

It really is ridiculous how people come in here and beg to be spoon fed without reading anything. I literally put complete step by step instructions on the stock ROM thread. Its really sad. The android community is circling the drain.
