You need THIS VERSION OF KINGROOT. If you do a factory reset it will work on the first try 90% of the time.so i need help. i have obviously downloaded both the twrp and king root. installed them and run king root, when i get to 52% on king root says i have to use desk top version, so naturally i tried it and it gives a big red x. no dea what to do now. any help would be nice. idk if it make a ifference but i am on kitkat 4.4.4 not 4.4.2 this iss the way i unboxed the phone. thanks for the ideas in advance.
If you read my post on the pevios page I went though the same thing, desktop kingroot won't work. It did the 51 percent thing for awhile but eventually worked.so i need help. i have obviously downloaded both the twrp and king root. installed them and run king root, when i get to 52% on king root says i have to use desk top version, so naturally i tried it and it gives a big red x. no dea what to do now. any help would be nice. idk if it make a ifference but i am on kitkat 4.4.4 not 4.4.2 this iss the way i unboxed the phone. thanks for the ideas in advance.

I opened 30 tabs in chrome and had a bunch of apps open in the background like facebook and what not. It worked on my second try. You have to fill the ram up for kingroot to work right.i have tried it about 60 times now. it does the 51% thing at random times between 51% and 63 now. i say maybe one in 10 tried does it ever restart and i get the orange sad face. i tried to do it with king user and it got to 99% twice but only to fail. i have reset my phone 3 or 4 times now. i am stopping play store as i found it make it harder. anyway im still stuck if you have any other ideas it would be appreciated.

What firmware version is your phone using? If you are using the English translated version of kingroot and just did a factory reset it should work the first time. Take a look at this screen shot and compare it to what your phone says.ok thanks for the tip. ill try that out. i was running clash of clans and a few other games but i didnt have any browsers open. thanks!

Message me on hangouts mc87xda@gmail.comeverything is exactly the same except build number yours is the metro version where i have t-mobile. i have the newest king-root version but it is not working. i have found a process to make it restart my phone every time now but it does nothing else. when it turns back on it is normal. king root is closed so i start it and it just goes back to the no root access press to start thing. i have uninstalled reinstalled and even re downloaded the apk. done multiple fac resets and lagged ram with 30+ tabs as suggested before. even went as far as opening every single that i have on my phone. nothing is seeming to work. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
No they will not. My thread clearly states which roms each pair of zips will work with. If you want to use them with cm12 you have to replace the boot.IMG inside the switcher and restore zips with the boot.IMG from the zip you used to install cm12.1Hey will the TWRP Switcher/Restore files still work with CM 12 Beta
Just tried to download this and it says could not parse package I'm.on cm 12 b1
I know this isnt the right locations but i need help.... I want to compile a recovery image for a different found .... but dont know how to start.....

Xda university has a lot of useful tutorials for this kind of stuff. It was a bit too advanced for me but you may find it useful. It'll at least get you pointed in the right direction and help you figure out what exactly you need to learn.first you need a decent Linux computer, and you have to set it up as Android Build System
just google "setup Android build system" and you should finda lot of links on how to do this
Thank you @Masterchief87 and @hroark13 will go ahead and jump into it .... I'm running a VMware Ubuntu set up ....Xda university has a lot of useful tutorials for this kind of stuff. My personal experience with trying to build with virtual box was nothing but problems. I would recommended dual boot or dedicated build box. But you may have better hardware than me though. Just my thoughts for a new builder.Thank you @Masterchief87 and @hroark13 will go ahead and jump into it .... I'm running a VMware Ubuntu set up ....
