Zumocast.wow

Can Zumocast work over a wifi network to a NAS? As in, stream files from the NAS to the phone via the phone's wifi connection? Or does it have to work over the internet connection?

Also, are any of the alternatives to Zumocast compatible with the OG droid for the same use? I have an OG droid that I want to use as a portable audio player, and it would be great to be able to stream audio to it over the LAN.

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah, I know, that's this thread, but I'm asking if those apps will 1. work on the OGD and 2. if they work over wifi. If no one knows I can just DL them and see, but if someone who has used them knows it will save me time. I'm on sat. internet here and its overcast, it took this page about two minutes to load.

Easy enough to find out.

go to Market.android.com and find each of the apps - if you log in with your Google account associated with your phone, it tells you on each app's page if it is compatible with your phone.

If you have more than one phone associated with the same Google account, it will give you a choice of compatible with all, compatible with some, or not compatible with your devices.

The Droid has been retired, I don't think it is still associated with my account, it currently has no service. I'll try and see.

Neither is mine but the association is there....Hopefully it is on yours as well.

just in case it is not, enable WiFi on it and add your account back on - don't sync anything, and then open Market.

ZumoCast no longer works for me. After installing on the PC, it says it can't connect to ZumoCast as if there is no internet connection. Anyone else have a problem running ZumoCast on the PC?

Edited: Never mind, looks like my firewall was automatically blocking.

Also just took the Zumocast plunge, based on jag83's comments herein. Installed easily and worked right the first time. Great piece of gear, especially since I've got the Lapdock 100. Earlier this week I had reformatted a USB hard drive (converted from an old laptop) to FAT32, and loaded all of what I wanted to access from my home computer, in order to use it in conjunction with the Lapdock. I like the idea of the Zumocast application much better.
