Anyone with Google Play Family Library experience

Before trying to do things that might be impossible or comes with a price, or have many 'cons', I'd like to ask if anyone here has experience with "Google Play Family Library".
Use Google Play Family Library - Google One Help

Background: I have a paid app that I do not use anymore, but would like to install on my wife's smartphone. Transfer of apps is not possible.

A workaround seems to be to install the Google Play app and then to 'Sign up for Family Library'... (?)

Probably I also need to install the Google Play app on my wife's smartphone?
(BTW she does not have a Google One account, just a basic account)
Are there any drawbacks?
Is it easy to share an app?
Pop-ups asking to do this, do that, suggest so-and-so?

thanks!

RapidApi app, ussage and alternatives.

Now we made a Rapidapi android store statistics api (no need for further promotion, you find it.).
And we did all this without any further research, as per usual.
Now our api is almost top dog on the seach term playstore and is not having a lot of visitors.

Is anybody here using RapidApi? is there any intrest in Apis ? for example in android apps?
Is anybody hosting apis on Rapidapi or on an alternative api market place that is much better?

Do you use apis as a programmer you do you rather develop your data gathering tools in house?

Vegan Hot Dogs

I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I'll try their food from time to time. I saw these Better Dogs and decided to try them. I've tried other vegan hot dogs in the past and none of them were very good. These Better Dogs are made in Spain and their main ingredient is peas. I cooked a couple of them in a pan and I was shocked that they tasted like a regular hot dog. I'm impressed

AAA

I'm considering joining AAA and thought I would ask if anyone has the service and or have an opinion on the service?

I have two motives for wanting / needing a service such as AAA. First and utmost, my wife and daughter are planning on traveling to Arizona this summer by auto. It concerns me that I'll be of zero help if they should have any auto problem on their trip. I certainly don't anticipate a problem but they are beyond precious to me. It seems that a road service plan would be good insurance and give me some peace of mind. Secondly I ride an expensive bicycle that I can't repair a flat away from home or push the bike miles to get it home. I'm not the sort that trusts leaving two and a half grand parked on the road as I walk miles to get home, put my bike rack on my truck, and go get my bike if it should still be there. AAA has bike tow service with their plans.

One of my buddies suggest AAA to solve my problems. He has the service and says it's genuine and has proven to be a value to him. I would appreciate and respect the opinions of my friends here. Thanks in advance.

Samsung Volume levels keep getting screwed up

So, I got a Samsung S22 Ultra with Android 14, One UI 6.0. Okay, so occasionally, I find that certain volume levels randomly get set to low volume or mute, and I have not done anything to do that myself. For example there is the main system volume, then there's subsystems like: media, ringtone, Bixby, and notifications. One or more of those settings will get set very low, and I will miss calls, notifications, etc. What could be causing that?

Help Tech Support & Things That Make You Go Hmmmm...

I hope this is the right topic area. Mods, help me out and please move it to the correct one if it is not.

I thought I’d start this thread for those who may have had issues with their S24 Ultra and wanted to share fixes, or verification of an issue. Here are some issues that I have had so far, but many of you may already know these. Please feel free to share anything interesting that you have found, so that we can try it out and see if it’s an anomaly or if that’s just the way that the S24 Ultra is supposed to work.

  • SIDE POWER BUTTON OPTIONS - I tried to set up my “side button” (power) to do two things. 1) Double Press and get the flashlight to turn on (works great), and 2) Long Press and have the power menu come up (sporadically working). I’ve noticed that the Long Press doesn’t always work. If I reboot the phone, it doesn’t work until I go into the Side Button options and cycle between “Wake Bixby”, and then back to “Power Off Menu”. After that, it will work until the next phone restart. I do have Good Lock installed. I couldn’t find a Power Off Menu option in Good Lock, so I am doing this through the phone options. Its not much of a problem if you don’t turn off your phone much, but when doing tech support and having to restart many times, it’s annoying.
  • CALLS GOING STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL - Recently I spent 3 hours on the phone with Verizon Tech Support. My issue was that when someone calls me with a blocked/restricted/private phone number, their calls would go directly to voicemail. Even when Verizon tried to call me on a test call, their calls would either get a continuous dial tone, or go directly to voicemail. I restarted the phone in Safe Mode and everything worked fine. That told me that there was a conflict between an app on my phone and visual voicemail. I finally uninstalled “Hiya” which had previously caused no issues on my Note 8 and S22 Ultra. Removing Hiya resolved my issue. I wrote the Hiya folks and they just gave me a generic answer of having people turn off the blocked/restricted options. I’m NOT going to tell people how to utilize their phone, so I just removed Hiya. Hiya was a great app for informing me that the call was spam, and gave me options to permanently block it. It is also supposed to integrate (options) with the S24 Ultra, but there are some issues at least for me.
  • QUICK DECLINE MESSAGES - When wanting to use the Quick Decline Phone messages, it seems that the phone number calling needs to NOT be blocked/restricted/private. If it is, then the option to send a Quick Decline Message will not appear on the phone when it rings. If you don’t use Quick Decline Messages, they are GREAT! I can even add my own personal messages so that when someone calls, and I don’t want to be interrupted, I can just swipe up and select a message to send to the calling party by text. This is very useful instead of picking up the phone and having to tell someone that you will call them back.
  • VISUAL VOICEMAIL ON WIFI - Visual Voicemail on Verizon’s network is a nightmare even for the technical support folks. My issue was that I wasn’t not always getting visual voicemail notifications. Some times it would appear, and sometimes nothing would be there until I switched to data mode (turned off Wifi). Apparently, this is an issue that the Verizon folks have with Samsung and they are constantly bringing it up to have visual voicemail work on Wifi. This issue was escalated for me and the tech called me the next day that said it is an ongoing issue with the S24 Ultra, but it wasn’t with previous phones. He said that a meeting is coming up with Samsung and once again, they will bring it up. As of now, visual voicemail will consistently only work on data, and NOT consistently work on Wifi.

Samsung Galaxy S5-Happy 10th Birthday

Launched on the 11th of April, 2014, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is now 10 years old today!

In my opinion, one of the great Samsung Galaxy phones I have owned. Up until 2 years ago it was in daily service with my little brother until he bounced it off some concrete.

I doubt that there are too many of these in use today with its 5.1" screen, 2GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset but I have fond memories of it.

One UI 6.1 update broke a feature on google messages

I have an S23 Ultra on verizon. I use google messages as my default SMS. I often send a message to someone I will only communicate with for the day so I don't want to add them to my contacts. After I have sent them a text, I want to copy their phone number and send it to someone else. Up until now, I could click on the three button menu on a message and hit details. It would show me the phone number. If I long press it I get the copy option. Now the long press no longer gives me the copy option. This started about the time my phone was updated to the new One UI 6.1. I don't know if the two things are related. Does anyone know how to get the copy function back for that particular screen? Thanks!
