I don't sew and have no access to a seamstress/seamster. Is there some other way to crosslink the shoulder straps of a backpack? Also it would be good to have some kind of belt at the bottom.

I'm meeting the some of my best friend and his buddy to finish emptying my shared storage unit. I'll then come home and smoke what I hope to be a wonderful roast for dinner. It is a Bison rib roast. If not special, it will be different for I've never tasted a Bison roast. My grand kids are too old to hunt eggs and my great grandkids did their egg quest yesterday with church and fellowship scheduled for today.

if I watch a video on Facebook and then tap to go foward or behind by 10 seconds if it has this option it automatically plays by itself then I have to tap again to pause the video. I don't want this to happen if i tap on the video it plays automatically and then pauses again when I tap it again anyway to turn these features off

No matter what i search for with whatever browser, VPN or not, TOR or not, firewall or not, if this stupid thing pops up:



there is at least a 75% chance or better that when i tap the box it will just reappear again and again.

If it leads to a captcha, then there is at least that chance again that another captcha will appear or i will flat out be refused connection.

It has gotten to the point that i automatically hit the back button as soon as i see it.

I dont even waste my time with a site that uses this crap.

Cloudflare claims that the problem is that their users are not setting up the service properly, and that i have to contact their customers directly- there is nothing that Cloudflare can do on their end.

But if i cannot get onto the site to contact the site because of Cloudflare, then i cannot tell them about it.

I don't want to have to stop it, I just don't want it to speak at all.

I've tried the path suggested by several answers: go to the google app, profile, settings, assistant voice and sounds, but the only options are 'red' or orange' (whatever those mean). The answers I got suggested there'd be the option of 'none' or 'hands free' in that settings section. Nope.

I'm a big fan of the google search bar widget, but pretty much only for hitting the microphone and asking questions. Problem is the smallest it gets while still having a 'clickable' microphone seems to be 1x3, as far as I can see.

Make the widget smaller and the mic disappears and I have to press on the widget and then be directed to the google page and then have to press the mic button. A 'double handling' thing that's a little irritating.

I may have missed something, but is there a way to make the mic still be there in a 1x1 or even 2x1 form?

Is it safe to get rid of the data from the nasty goo file app if I'm using a different file app? It's not huge but would definitely save space. I'm trying to trim these things.

I'm experiencing this issue on a PIxel 7 running Android 16, with the most recent version of google play services (26.09.31 or later)

If these recent versions are installed, entering settings/account/all services/privacy & security/Ads gives me a single option "get new advertisng ID"
but when this screen is displayed it causes a variety of problems (hangs/missing info) in settings/account/services until the phone is restarted.

However, if I uninstall google play services updates (phone reverts to 25.47.33) everything works properly. In addition to "get new advertising ID"
there is also the option of "Ad Privacy' - they both work normally.

I'm not suggesting anyone uninstalls google play services; but just to illustrate that it used to work fine and now it's broken.

I stumbled across a thread in another forum about how everyone has a junk drawer. The items within seem to be somewhat similar to the people posting. The thread drifted into the tool box and contents.
Thought I would start a similar thread here.
To begin with, I'm old enough that I have multiple junk drawers and tool boxes. I have two junk drawers in my office. One has cords and cables for all of the electronics past and present. It is a large drawer and stuffed with cables and connectors that I'll likely never need again. There is always that fear of needing that BNC cable or EIDE cable and I tossed it syndrome that keeps the drawer well stocked. I have another drawer that has itty bitty screwdrivers to large ones and everything between. Lots of diagonal cutters and needle nosed tools. Brass brushes to solder and even a few wire strippers and bike tools. It's the go-to drawer in the office for little projects. The junk drawer in the kitchen contains no junk. It houses the rarely used but handy kitchen items that one needs once in a great while. Things such as a lemon juicer, lid removal tool, skewers, meat hammer, taco press, meat shredder, funnels, and many other rarely used but desirable kitchen tools. Then there are the outside tools. The two tool boxes that ride with me in my truck and the five or six in my shed are for the major mechanical chores. To escape the criticism of having so many tool boxes, I have an excuse of sorts. I have my tools which take a couple of boxes. That's not counting the socket sets and wrench sets. I have a couple of tool boxes in my truck with duplicate tools for truck or mower emergencies. I couldn't bring myself to toss my father's tool boxes. My father-in-law passed down a couple of boxes of good tools. Plus, he had a couple of boxes of specialized tools such as pullers and presses and the like I just couldn't toss. I was a trim carpenter / cabinet maker for nearly sixty years.... I'll not describe that collection of tools.

Yep, it's a big one. I attacked it as soon as I could with laundry stain remover, and a lot of that. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the carpet machine until.this morning. I figure it got maybe half. How do I get rid of the rest?

I got my S25+ in September, coming from an S23, and I noticed right away how awesome the battery was. I use it for gig work and it would stay over 90% for a LONG time! But suddenly last month it drains much faster. I cannot go a full day now. I need to carry a charge pack just in case. Today, I started at 100 and now I'm at 12%. Screen on time was less than 5 hours of the past 12.

I decided to try and do a warranty claim so I took it to one of Samsung's repair places. they said they'd do a full diagnostic. The result was that my battery health shows as Excellent, it can charge up to the rated capacity (4800 mah), and it only shows 151 cycles. I disagree with that, because I've had the phone more than 180 days and I charge it every night in addition to sometimes needing to plug it in during the day. He said that Samsung won't warranty it with this result and he discouraged me from paying for it because they believe my battery is good. But I am certain that it drains much faster. I did a factory reset, deleted a few apps, put others to sleep, I have the screen on adaptive brightness..I don't know what else to do! The battery does not last as long as it did when new, but I don't want to gamble with spending the money on a new battery if it is going to be the same.

Recently we were looking for just that. It seems to have virtually disappeared. Then I got "lucky" and found a small pack.of hard salami. It was even on sale, just $2. I ended up getting "educated" on how bad the stuff is (duh, salami, probably not on the list of any respectable diet). It seems hard salami "has" to be fried in order to compensate for all the fat in it, considerably below 20% if the label is to be believed. I am aware that there is at least 1 more variety, Genoa, which might be more in the lunch meat category. Who has had similar experiences? Does it have to be ordered through some online salami store these days?

When I get an email notification icon on my Galaxy J2, selecting it says its video voicemail which I don't want. How do I change that to audio voicemail? Phone > Settings > Voicemail does NOT have a video voicemail setting to turn off. The only thing in >Voicemail Settings is the cell phone number.

The holiday is Tuesday the 17th. As DNA results change over time, I'm less Irish and more Scottish as time goes by. I don't feel a bit less Irish and plan to celebrate as I have all of my life. I will be enjoying my corned beef and cabbage for dinner and will likely lift my mug a few times.

A place I Admin is having major attacks, different areas are being hit on and I even caught a Brute Force attempt !
There is obvious signs that someone is inside, such as my full Admin access was restricted, after I started banning suspected IP addresses. (It was restored by the owner who claims he did not do it and he is the Super Administrator)
The owner is looking the other way and does not want to believe the site is compromised.

I am not sure I am interpreting this one correctly, can someone tell me if this is a legit command on a message board or a hack to get in ?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question so apologies if it isn't.
As per subject I'm using K9 Mail on my Samsung S22 using Android 14, One UI 6.1. My daughter often sends me http links from her S22 and they don't display as links, i.e. they are monochrome and not underlined. Tapping on them does nothing but until recently I've been able to tap and hold and this would open a pop-up menu offering to open the link. However this functionality has suddenly stopped working. Now if I tap and hold it just selects a single word in the string and offers to copy, share etc.

As things stand the only way I can open these links is on my PC by copying and pasting into the URL bar of my browser. Not very helpful if I'm not at home.

Can anyone suggest what may have happened to stop me opening these by tapping and holding? Is there a setting I can change anywhere to restore this function? I've looked through the K9 settings and can't see anything relevant. Alternatively is there a way for her to get her phone to send openable links?

Any insights will be gratefully received.

I'm having a problem for the past two days that I can't answer most calls to my cell phone. It shows a call coming in and it rings but pressing "answer" does nothing, no matter how many times I keep pressing it. Once in a while I can answer a call but most times I can't. Anyone have an idea of why this is happening or whether there is some setting on the phone that on its own somehow got turned off (or on) that would cause this?
