Pressure Cooking

Anyone like to cook under pressure? I started pressure cooking twenty five years ago or so. My mother had a pressure cooker and pressure fryer though she never cooked under pressure. A guy that I grew up with shared sysop duties with me on our local U's bbs and he turned me onto cooking under pressure. There are many benefits of cooking under pressure. The pressure increases the temperature in which liquid turns to gas vapor, thus increasing the cook temp beyond just boiling. This decreases the time of the cook and also helps break down fats and connecting tissues of meats. It produces a more tender dish and is healthier in less time. A pressure cooker is a fantastic tool for cooking dried beans. Again, less time for the cook is good but the higher temp released more starch from beans and the end product is tender and healthier. Cooking chicken under pressure not only produce tender and moist chicken cuts but the broth is extra flavorful for the higher temp pulls flavor out of the bones. One of my pressure cookers has a tray that sits above the water for steaming veggies. Steamed vegetables hold their color and texture while becoming tender.

I will admit that I've gotten away from pressure cooking. Ever since I bought my first smoker, it has become my cooking tool of choice. I just love the added smoke flavor I get from using a smoker. Meats are tender for they cook slowly at a low temp. Smoking meats is a great cooking option. However, as I'm smoking a tri-tip as I type, I started thinking about how good that cut of meat might be if I had pressure cooked it. I would have rubbed it with oil, seasoned it, brazed it in the bottom of the pressure cooker, added water and some bay leaves, and then let it cook under pressure.

Anyone into pressure cooking? Any special cooks you want to share?

Biometrics Sign On

In the past I have read that that credit card apps won't use face recognition for sign on because it's not secure enough. Credit card apps do use fingerprint touch ID because it is much more secure.

Suddenly Wells Fargo and Discover card added face recognition to their biometric sign on. In settings for both, biometric sign on is either on or off. I can't shutoff face recognition and leave fingerprint touch ID to sign on.

So was there some big change in facial recognition that makes it more secure now?

Phone not working

Since about a week, I have a problem with both incoming and outgoing calls.
When someone calls me, connection is refused but I do see the call as "missed".
When I dial out, it simply refuses to connect.

This has happened now 3 or 4 times. Every time, restarting Android solves the problem temporarily.
But the problem comes back, and I don't know about it until someone contacts me through Whatsapp to tell me I am unreachable.

I have tried to clean the SIM card using alcohol, and repositioned it in the second SIM slot, but no change.
Since the call does come in as "missed", I am guessing the SIM card is not the cause.
But what is? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Help Nokia C01 not charging.

I have a Nokia C01 Plus that wont charge when connected either to the Nokia charger that came with the phone or to my PC via USB.
I have tried all the troubleshooting steps I saw online including a factory reset (which somehow caused me to loose everything except calls and data despite the backup settings in the phone telling me that everything was backed up before I did the reset), plugging in USB with the phone powered off (which caused Windows to say "new device found USB gadget" before the phone went into a loop of displaying the Android Go logo then nothing then the Android Go logo and so on) and rebooting the phone many many times.

The fact that Windows at least saw a device over USB suggests the USB charging port itself isn't physically damaged (and I can't see any dirt or debris in there).
Any suggestions for what I should do? Anything else I can try? Do I need to take it to a repair shop? Buy another phone?

the Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix

hey guys,
so i just watched what i think is the best animated series that i have ever seen. it is on Netflix and it is called "the Blue Eye Samurai".

the story is truly amazing. it is well written and the animation is the best i have ever seen.

it is a historical piece set in the 1600's. and though this is animated, this is in no way intended for kids. there is a ton of violence, blood, and sex. this is meant for adults.

i highly suggest you watch, if you have not already.

anybody seen it? what is your thoughts, if so.

Flashlight icon greyed out, camera problems on Pocophone F1

Hi, my Pocophone F1 has a weird problem. The flashlight icon in the app drawer is greyed out like this:

I cannot access flashlight from camera app too, when I try to take photo with flash, the screen immediately changed to white color, then cream color with sun icon. When I take photo using the back camera, the result is normal, but after i got to gallery, the photo become mirrored. You can see here, the "LG" preview in bottom left looks normal.

But after opening it, it looks like this:

Sometimes opening portrait mode also result in "Camera error, Can't connect to camera".

I also attached a video here when i try to take photo with the flashlight. Thank you!

Issue with Photo Tagging Feature on Windows and Android Compatibility

I've been accustomed to tagging my photos in Windows using the property details feature. This allows me to organize my gallery efficiently. However, I've encountered a recent issue. After transferring the tagged photo to my Samsung Galaxy A6+, the trick no longer seems to work. I'm puzzled as to why this has happened. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or have any insights into what might be causing this issue?

Selling my laptop

I have a HP Pavilion g6 Notebook laptop 6.00 GB Ram 64 bit OP System, which I want to sell. It is a few years old, but

hardly used, and is in prestine condition. If I remove everything, I believe it will automatically install the Windows that it

came with when I purchased it new. It is running Windows 10, but I cannot remember if I upgraded from an earlier version.

There is nothing of any importance on the laptop. Is it possible to remove files, and be sure that Windows 10 remains.

My 6 year old 55" Samsung LED died. Replacement?

This old 55" TV (HU8550?) now shows an instant green screen. Must replace the set. I prefer Samsung, and it must be 55". Prefer to buy from Costco, and this set looks good: https://www.costco.com/samsung-55"-...rs-of-total-coverage*.product.4000154397.html

However, Tom's Guide: Samsung OLED vs. Neo QLED TV — here's the one I would buy right now

Thoughts? Size must be 55".

Thanks.
