Isn't it fun converting people? I've lost track of how many I've convinced to ditch window$ in favor of Kubuntu Linux.

My all-time favorite convertee was my mom. I've written much about that, so I'll leave it at this: she loved it--but couldn't get used to its speed and its lack of needing to reboot constantly. :D
I do still have Win10 Pro dual booting with Mint19.1, as does my wife. But I can't remember the last time I actually wanted to use Windows.

Connecting phone to computer problem

Video must have not uploaded, 2nd time didn't work either, but I've tried different cables and different USB ports. Even a different pc. And the cable seems fine in my phone, I even tried to clean out the charging port...

Try going into your Apps menu and open the 'Google' app. In the bottom right tap on the 'More' link, and then on 'Settings', and then on 'Google Assistant'. Scroll down to the 'Weather' link for options on Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Thank you for your reply. I was unable to find the link or a similar one. The strange thing I rebooted the phone and lo and behold it was working properly. Very strange indeed.

I seem to recall a previous thread where you asked about Flash problems, so I've deduced that this is an important issue for you.

As @Davdi said, Flash is on its way out, and will soon be a thing of the past. I honestly can't even remember the last time I saw or used anything Flash-related.

If you're willing to tell us the specific apps/programs/sites you're having problems with, maybe someone can offer viable alternatives. In my opinion, this is a much better solution than trying to downgrade four Android versions (10 is in use now; you want 6), which would cause its own problems--like failing to run current apps.

At some point you're going to have to acknowledge Flash's demise. *shrug*

Actual viruses (Viri?) don't exist for Android, as it's Linux at heart. There are, however plenty of other types of Malware around.
Why do you think there's malware on the tablet? is it misbehaving, or did an 'Anti Virus app' tell you it found something. If so, what is it telling you?
ALso, if it's a bloateare app that you can see in the Apps part of settings, you can always disable the app. It won't remove the offending app, but will stop it from running.

Help Issue with SD Card - files reappear after formatting

Hi, I have been having similar problems with sd cards!
Tried deleting files or formatting them and each time the card comes back to the initial state!
I use android, windows and also Linux and the cards in question react the same way on all systems!
In most cases I have managed to format the cards in the end and fix the problem but n each time it has only worked with one of the 3 OS s and changes each time!
I have had similar problems with hard drives in the past!
I believe it has to do with programmes OR s taking ownership of files or of the disk themselves and making impossible to change these files.
There is one other possibility: that it is some kind of worm /virus as one thing all these cases have had in common is *playlist files* even the cards or drives had never been connected to a media device.
My SanDisk in wich I am using one such card does not recognise said *playlist.sal*
And none of my other devices can access these files either
(With the exception of one card that refuses to over wright the contents)

It's more likely to be a sensor failure. If a server with a 550W PSU was drawing 2.6KW I'd be expecting a loud bang and a strong smell of burnt insulation. And the server room breaker ought to trip.
Iwas in a server room a while ago, doing maintenance on a server, while other techs installed some new boxes. Unfortunately they exceeded the capacity of the room's breaker. BANG, ALL the servers, the lights and the A/C died, leaving us in a dim red emergency lighting glow.

Help LG Stylo 4 - made and received calls - other person heres echo

It happened to me on my volt 2 AND my Stylo 3. Both times were resolved by changing phone cases. I was getting feedback and echo from the ambient mic they use for noise cancelation necise the case was too close to it...or so I read. Whatever caused it...changing cases did it for me twice. Soooo...IF ur still getting echo or feedback, try it without the case and see if that helps.

Help Cannot mount /data in twrp

The first problem that I encountered was when Messenger started crashing after opening non-facebook links. Then I noticed that Gmail kept crashing a couple seconds after opening. I tried to clear Android AppView cache, data, Gmail's cache, app data, uninstalling updates but the problems were left unfixed.
I found a post suggesting wiping data partition, but that couldn't be done. I tried to repair /data, unfortunately I got error 8. Is it possible that I didn't root my phone correctly? If yes, should I try flashing again?
