Ordered replacement spen how do I synch with tablet?

When I try to use it it doesn't get Irecognized so guessing I need to synch it somehow?
Also i ordered it from eBay and it doesn't seem like it fits exactly right but figured it will still work ok, could that be a problem though?
A spen only works if its its end if your tablet has a spen slot you will need to insert the spen into your tablet and it should sync automatically, also the best place to get a replacement spen is from samsung themselves to avoid getting scammed

Help The "USB Connected" notification stays on after the USB is disconnected

9 years later, I had the same problem. XPhoneGuy saved me. I just used a spray to clean electric contact and my Galaxy M30 is working normally again.

I had the same problem as everyone else in this thread. My phone worked fine for two months. One day I was wearing a nasty imitation leather jacket and had the phone in my shirt pocket. It got kind of hot where I was and it got "steamy" inside that jacket before I took it off. The next time I looked at my phone it was doing the "USB Connected" dance. I tried power cycling and couldn't get the phone to power up, just got the grey battery symbol.

I tried a variety of things to fix this with marginal success. When I returned home I got the connector under a microscope and saw that there was some crud in the connector:

You really couldn't see it with the naked eye, you need at least 10 to 20X magnification and a good light source to see it. I turned off the phone, took out the battery, and squirted some canned air ("Dust Off") in the connector and blew a lot of that stuff out. However, there still was some dirt on the contacts. I took a small piece of coffee filter paper, wrapped it around the end of a small twist tie, soaked it in isopropyl alcohol, and swabbed out the connector. Here's the clean connector:

USB_Clean.jpg

You need to be very careful about sticking things in the connector. The little tab that holds the contacts is fragile.

I powered the phone back up and it no longer displays the "USB Connected" message. It works correctly when I really do plug in a USB cable, too.

Why does this fix the problem? Well, I used to design cell phones, and I know a thing or two about the external connectors on phones. The phone has to have some way of detecting that something has been plugged into the connector. Micro USB connectors do not have a mechanical switch to detect the presence of a plug in the socket. If these connectors work the way USB OTG (On-The-Go) connectors work, there is a resistor in the cable between two of the pins. The phone attempts to pass a small amount of current through that resistor to detect the presence of the cable. When there is debris in the connector, like cotton fuzz from clothing, tiny bits of soap from washing, and tiny flakes of dead skin, and you add humidity from perspiration or rain, etc. you create little blobs of slightly conductive goo that can bridge the gap between the pins. That blob of goo looks just like a resistor to the electronics in the phone. So the phone thinks there's always something plugged into the connector. Why have some people been able to fix the problem with settings then? I suspect that they found settings that cause the phone to stop checking for a USB cable or to ignore the signal that tells the OS that something is plugged in.

I'd like to hear whether this solves the problem for others. While we're at it, does anyone know what those two extra contacts way at the back of the connector are for? Those aren't standard USB pins. I suspect they are used in manufacturing test.

Now if Verizon would only release Froyo for this phone...

App Inventor Where to write the keytool command

Where to write the keytool command
Hallo friends

After contact GPlay support I got following answer:

generate a new key:
keytool -genkeypair -alias upload -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -validity 9125 -keystore keystore.jks
then: Export the certificate for that key to PEM format:
keytool -export -rfc -alias upload -file upload_certificate.pem -keystore keystore.jks

But as far as for me Android Studio is really new, I do not know where to place such command line and activate.

Calls

Making a call will generally mute the music.

If you can set your music app to not mute (generally not considered a good feature) it will be playing through the speaker, not transmitting it to the caller/callee. Of course the other person might hear some of it as background noise, but it wouldn't be high quality (though it probably wouldn't be anyway: a voice call will probably have more compression than the music to start with).

In short, I don't know a way and if you could the quality would be crap.

Trouble unlocking bootloader

I know I only found 2 other times that had

So any recommendations on what to do after rooting with kingroot?? I need all the help I can get. It's been a struggle. The only internet acess I have is att on my samsung a10e and they have my mobile hotspot and tethering blocked (bc they want me to spend more money with them to tell me how I can use my own data) so I've been doing everything on the lg gpad off data from my phone through the net share app. Bc my sim wont work in the att lg gpad (bc they want me to spend more money on a extra tablet line for data. So I'm either gonna try to find a way to make my sim work in both ( don't know if it's even possible).. and my final mission would be to root the a10e unless there is a better lower budget att or unlocked phone that would be better bc really the a10e sucks . But gonna root that and try to get xposed or something to try to bypass. I pay for the data and I would like to use it how i want. Lol. Sorry for the rant but thats where I'm at. any input would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

Battery replacement

Depending on a number of things (time, effort, cost), replacing a battery can be more problem than replacing a device.

Of course, this is by design.

If we all refused to buy devices that have built in batteries then this wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, a new device (likely with a replaceable battery) can be had often for the cost of a replacement battery.
This cheap device (~$50 USD) would get you by until you are ready for a replacement of your choice.

Not to mention that your old device could still be used at home for storage, a mini tablet, camera, etc., so long as it is plugged in.
This can be more useful than you may think.

Along with the cheap device I mentioned and a couple SD cards that you probably already have, your device that you use away from home can get a break when you get home, your storage capacity is greatly increased, and the possibilities of your device use increase as well.

I currently use three devices, two identical and one not.
I had a battery issue with one, and it was just as cheap to get another device.
One stays at home, its twin is relegated to Wi-Fi use only (as is its mate) and the unmatched one is my general purpose cellular.

A simple app called NitroShare (F-Droid) allows for easy file sharing among all my devices.

Another option to get you by is to get an inexpensive power bank to plug your current device into when the power drops to the unuseable level.

At Wal-Mart there is a very small portable battery pack that costs less than $5 USD.

This should power your device back up quickly so that you can make it last a few hours more during the day.

Your Phone

Your Phone is a POS that was (in my opinion) hastily cobbled together by programmers who obviously had better things to do. Microsoft people writing an app for Samsung, and Samsung employees writing an app for Microsoft... what could possibly go wrong? Well, Your Phone can go wrong, and it usually does.

My experience with Your Phone is great, until I walk away from the computer with my phone and then come back (I'm prone to doing that). Then it's nothing but "Your Phone can't connect to your phone right now". Endlessly. The only fix I've found is to Repair AND Reset the Windows app, and clear cache AND data on the phone app. Then restart both. After that, Your Phone works great - until I walk away again with my phone!

This dog don't hunt. I have Pulse SMS, it syncs to my PC and it works very well. I use Pushbullet to send photos (or just share them on my phone to OneDrive).

Remotely controlling multiple android phones

I assume that someone who is running 150 WhatsApp accounts is basically using them as sockpuppets for some commercial, lobbying or political purpose. I couldn't think of any other reason for having that number anyway.
Interesting. My normally-highly-suspicious mind didn't go there at all. When I read it, I guessed the 150 devices were being used in a work environment. Like I used to say, "I have X computers," where X=the computers I was responsible for at work--and far more than even *I* would have personally. :o

App Inventor UPC Verification App

First, I have zero experience with app development (great start, I know). I have some basic web development and coding experience from a few years ago but haven't kept up with it. However, I am fairly tech savvy and pick up on things pretty quickly. To save myself time and frustration, I figured tapping into the expertise of the community would be a great place to start.

Here's the background situation. My company does wholesale distribution of food products. We have a grocery store-esque customer that is requiring we provide them with any UPC code we send them ahead of time so they can make sure its in their system so it scans at the register. And we buy products from every imaginable supplier so one week we might have blueberries with one UPC and the next week another.

What I want to do is have a simple app that can be linked to a scanner (either using a device camera or a specific scanning gun) that scan the UPC, checks it against our existing UPCs that we've provided (most preferably stored in a google sheet table), and simply returns either valid if it currently exists in the table or error if it does not.

So, my question is: does anyone know of something similar that exists like this? If not, what are some recommendations on where I should start?

As a beginner, I appreciate any and all comments.

Thanks in advance!
