Z Fold 4 Battery Care/Charging

Would anyone be able to help me understand how to care for the battery? I spent hours google searching and can't find the answers. I did stumble upon how to turn off fast charging. Does that mean I can use my regular 5W charger if I do that? That is what I am hoping to do. I don't need a fast charge and they are expensive (to replace everything I already have). I also read that it was best to charge in the by 20% and up to 80%, then read somewhere else that the phone is automatically set to not let you charge to 100% even though that is what the display says. At this point I am confused as H E double-hockey-sticks...Help me Obi Wan...

Notifications stop on wifi then come all at once when going back to mobile

This happens a few times a day. I'll be on wifi and i wont get any notifcations for like a couple hours. Then I will turn off wifi and a bunch of notifications will come in all at the same time. Gmail, facebook, my nest camera, everything. This happens on my home wifi as well as work wifi and pretty much every wifi connection.

I also have an issue where I won't get notifications and then when I unlock my phone i will get a notifcation late. This happens mostly with gmail.

Help February OTA is available

My Verizon Pixel 6 Pro is currently downloading the 30 mb February update. It took longer than usual to prepare my phone for the download. I live in the NE USA in the suburbs of New York City. The information is at https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/200738915/google-pixel-update-february-2023?hl=en
Good luck!
The update downloaded much quicker than usual. That may be why it took longer to prepare my phone for it. I had read that Google was working on a way to improve update speed. Maybe this was it.

Anyone with a NON-Samsung Phone Able to Try this with their Camera?

** UPDATE: ANSWER FOUND. Android 11 purposely disabled the feature to access your existing images when a live camera capture request is activated via a link or app. **

Original question:
Im trying to find out if this is specific to Samsung phones. I have an S22. When you click "Take Photo" links, it brings up a version of the camera app that does NOT give access to your gallery or existing photos.

Normally the camera app has a camera roll/gallery icon at the bottom.

Help What's the difference between buying from T-Mobile vs. Amazon or elsewhere?

Hi all. I'm considering getting the S23 (regular), and I'd like to know if there are any benefits and/or drawbacks to buying an unlocked phone from Amazon vs. buying directly from T-Mobile.

Will it work the same? Are the ones from T-Mobile optimized to run on T-Mobile, or is that not a thing anymore?

Do I just need to put the SIM card from my S7 into the S23 to activate it? (Assuming it's even the same type. If it's not, what do I do?)

How else would T-Mobile know I got a new phone if I don't do it through them?

Thanks!

Shortcut or something similar for specific app functionality

Ok guys,
Maybe an impossible thing, but I’m going to ask anyway.

Since a few weeks, my mother has a hearing problem. She already had a hearing aid for one ear and now the other ear is having problems as well. because her good ear doesn’t work for telephone calls, she uses Bluetooth functionality on her hearing aid to use it with telephone calls. The only problem is: if the hearing aid is constantly on this setting it creates problems of noise and other unwanted side effects.

Now my question is: she uses an app to set the hearing aid on different settings for different situations. (Bluetooth, induction loops, busy places, that kind of presets).

Is there any way with android to be able to access this setting quickly from the Home Screen via Some sort of widget, or maybe assign a button or something, so she can turn on and off the Bluetooth setting of the app?
We looked at turning off Bluetooth altogether, but this isn’t really the solution because she also uses other Bluetooth devices (watches, speakers).

It would be great if there is a solution for this, hope you can brainstorm with me?

Ad blocker for YouTube

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.... I'm looking for a reasonably good ad blocker for YouTube. I've tried a couple of free ones from the Google 'Play Store', but they don't do anything to curtail the blizzard of ads while trying to watch YouTube. Of course, this makes perfect sense, as Google owns YouTube.....

I have no problem paying a one-time fee for the ad blocker, but I don't want to get sucked into paying an ongoing monthly fee.

Can someone kindly recommend an ad blocker, or a strategy, to block most (or all) ads from YouTube?

Many thanks, Dave F.

[Free][App] Love Tester

Hi all! I would like to present you my new application Test for love. I must say right away that this application was created for entertainment purposes and does not scan fingerprints) This application is very good for having fun with your soulmate.
The principle of operation is simple. You and your partner put your fingers on the screen, the application "scans" and gives you a percentage match result. Everything is simple)
To play a trick, you can choose the result you need in advance in the settings, or random. I really hope you support. Thank you!

Grey transparent bar on PDF files

I work in a company where we use a lot of samsung tablets and phones.
Lately some people have been having problems with PDF's.
As you can see in the picture there is a grey bar on top of the screen, this only appears when reading PDF's.
We have tried installing a different pdf reader but the result is the same.
Resetting to factory settings also doesn't work.

Anyone got any ideas for a fix ?
Can't seem to really find anything on the internet.

Kitchen Storage

We have a townhouse with a galley kitchen, so there is not a lot of room or storage space in the kitchen. The wife needs more storage space so here is what I'm doing:

Removing the stove and the microwave above the stove

Just went to Menards and purchased a Four Burner Cooktop, a Three Drawer Cabinet for the Cooktop, and a combination Microwave/Convection Oven to mount above the Cooktop.

Total price $1,781/74 LOL! a lot of money for three drawers. Should be here in about 10 days

Happy Wife, Happy Life!

Apps How can I display values from Android Studio profiler/performance on my app?

I used the Android Studio profiler to check how the values of CPU, memory and energy change during the execution of an app I'm developing. I wonder if there is any way I could display these values, for instance, the energy consumed and CPU load on my APP?

This is some of the documentation I checked and it doesn't say anything about it.

If there is any other way to display performance values on the app without using the profiler, I could also use that!

Midi site settings in mobile Chrome

Hey all,

About 6 months ago my Samsung A32 Android phone did an OS update. Ever since, any website that uses midi - such as https://www.musicca.com/piano - yields NO sound in Google Chrome. I've reset my phone, re-installed Chrome, cleared all the cache, enable site sounds, etc... I have noticed that SITE SETTINGS for individual websites in the desktop version of Chrome has an option to enable / disable midi devices. But the mobile version is completely missing this option. Not sure if that's the problem but just an observation. Does anyone know how to fix this in the mobile version Chrome?

Apps Android tools to develop my first app

Hello,

I have a project and I'm heading towards you to know which way I should go according to your experiences.

I want to make a gamepad type application communicating in bluetooth.
A type of joystick that I like is the classic one that we can see in mobile games, a point in a defined area and buttons depending on my needs.
When I will have a functional application, I would like to improve it so that my application is also compatible with gamepad devices.
I want to focus on Android only, I don't have a Mac or an iPhone so anyway...

My experience in Android development is limited to a simple application with React Native so I would like to have your opinion on what is the best way to achieve my goals?
Are Flutter or React Native viable solutions or should I focus on Android Studio directly?

Thanks for your opinions!
