How to get rid of contact zombies

In the contact app I keep seeing old telephone number that I have deleted long time ago.
When I switch to edit mode I only see the current numbers but when browsing or searching for a contact in the phone app or the messaging app it keeps showing all that old garbage again and if one isn't super cautious it's easy to pick the wrong, outdated number.
This is mighty annoying! How can one force the contact app to clean out these outdated data?

I have been experiencing WiFi connection issues for about a week. My data seems to work fine, but WiFi connections are unstable.

The situation was worse before I started troubleshooting (poor connection when established and near-constant dropping). I now seem to only have an issue maintaining connections. This issue seems to be with my phone because it's happened with multiple routers when others have not been experiencing the same issue

So far, I have tried
1) restarting the routers
2) restarting my phone
3) clearing my chrome/Google cache
4) clearing tabs
5) resetting WiFi/Mobile/Bluetooth in system settings

intermittent sync\update issue with gmail IMAP account

I use thunderbird on desktop and bluemail on android smartphone.

Occasionally when sending or moving email(s) w\TB or BM the email(s) disappear. Usually if I then look in my account on the gmail website the email(s) will be there, but sometimes missing there too. Sometimes after being moved, the email(s) will be in one directory on website but another directory in TB and\or BM.

Sometimes several minutes or hours later the email(s) will reappear. Sometimes email(s) that disappear never reappear or might reappear in the original directory.

Other email(s) sent\moved later can be seen even though a previously disappeared email has yet to reappear.

Above sounds crazy, but ive been so meticulous to check every single time I send\move an email. Im completely sure of this. I 1st noticed this a very long time ago in TB shortly after I switched from pop3 to imap. This was before I had a smartphone. Back then I never checked the gmail website and just thought it was me. It has gotten slightly worse since I started using BM, prompting me to track every sent & moved email.

I can post the details of a specific incident.

Ive already asked in gmail/google forums.

Help ¿Is there a way to auto sync my smart band statistics with an app (long term)?

I own a "XIAOMI MI BAND 4" (but I’m not asking specifically for that band. I want to upgrade it in the future).


The band has an internal record of my activity, also it sync with my android app (first I used the official app, now I’m using the incredible gadgetbridge).


But for what I can see, that log doesn´t go further than a week I think.


And what i want, is to keep statistics of my activity, sleep, heart rate etc. for a larger time, months, years, maybe unlimited.


I don’t think that would result in a heavy database file, it´s all plain text.


By having that records, I could have better statistics of my progress.


It also would be great if i can keep that statistics when I change my band; I mean, to keep the sleep, activity, heart rate etc. between bands. I´m talking about an open database format.


There’s an export function on the app, but it has to be manual, so I have to remind every week to export the file.


Anyway, I can't find any app that can import that file and generate its own larger open database.


¿is there an app, service, or web that can auto (or manually) do what I want?

Low microphone volume on first call

Hi,

when I make a call from my A31, the first call is characterized by low microphone volume, the called person can hardly hear me... if I end the call and call again everything is fine (It doesn't matter with who I'm trying to make a call).

I tried:

- phone factory reset: the problem is solved for about 5 days and then everything starts again

- to check apps that have permission to access the microphone: there is none allowed

- to check apps only when they are in use, there is: AndroidAuto, Camera, Google, Google Voice services, Meet, WhatsApp, Messages

- To switch off VoLTE: it doesn't helped

Can anybody help me to solve this? It is very annoying.

Is Yo Whatsapp 9.41 safe to use on android devices?

There are many problems that I need help with.
there used to be many mod versions of whatsapp app. If I use it on an Android device, it says it's not working.
But Yo Whatsapp version 9.41 is usable.
Although it is not available on CH Play.
But I have been using it for 5 years now.
Found it very safe for my device.

How to Authorize Amazon Alexa to Run Scheduled Routines?

I am trying Amazon Alexa on a Google Pixel 6 and like it so far. I can schedule routines that run off Amazon's cloud servers to do tasks like change the colors of certain lights at different times of day. That works great. My problem is when I want to run a background routine on the phone something in the Android security model seems to be preventing that. For example, I want a specific song to play on the phone at a specific time. Alexa's activity log says that happened. But I never heard any song, and there was no application notification about any problem running the routine.

Are there specific permissions I need to give to the Amazon Alexa app in order for it to be able to play a song at a particular time of day, when it is starting as a background task on the phone?

Can't decide between the S22 Ultra or the Z Fold 4

Currently using a Note 10+ for the last 2.5 years. I use my phone for all the basics like email and text. Also use it for fantasy sports, a lot of video streaming, most of it is live sports, some light gaming, kodi, nothing to crazy. I am unable to split view screen when using Kodi on my Note 10+ which is annoying because I'd like to have my fantasy football app on one screen and kodi on the other.

Opinions on the crease in the middle of the screen would be greatly Appreciated. Also would like to know if you recommend getting an S-pen.

Help My phone keeps making alert sounds

Most times there is nothing in the notification bar at the top of the display.
Music is interrupted every few minutes. Worse, when I play a podcast it is interrupted and paused every 3 seconds by an alert sound.
Every time I quit an app I hear an alert.
I also get a new (to me) notification accompanied by the baffling alert: "Spotify is using battery" (What, as opposed to the nuclear-powered mini-generator my phone is plugged into?).
A factory reset has had no effect.

Drive Sync is slow; Timeline is inaccurate

Two things performing less well since I got my S20 in July (I was on an Android 12 phone before that also, same mobile carrier):

1. Google Drive seldom seems to sync between my phone and computer unless I force it to do so (through accounts sync setting on the phone.) That is, it seems to wait a long time before syncing, and I don't have any settings that should be discouraging that.

2. Google Maps accuracy seems poor in tracking my meanderings in Timeline, regardless of method of getting around...bike, on foot, driving etc.

I never had had perfect tracking in Google Maps timeline but things seem especially inaccurate since I got this phone. I do have Precise Location selected under Location for Maps. For example, my routes that I take are often displayed as triangulated/cutting off the square corners of streets which makes my mileage that I'm trying to keep track of not very accurate. I'm often having Timeline pepper my movements with "unknown activity" or just failing to note where I was for big chunks of my time away from home.

Help Custom binary blocked by oem lock

I was trying to update android version on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I downloaded following tools for update process.
  1. Odin3_v3.14.4
  2. (android-12L-stable) lineage-19.1-20220314-greatlte
  3. NikGapps-android-12L-20220222-signed
  4. twrp-3.6.2_9-0-greatlte.img.tar
I followed this video

Everything was going well until my phone got stuck in boot loop. I tried to repeat the process but then I got error Custom binary blocked by oem lock. Screenshot of the error is attached here.

Now I tried to download the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Firmware tool but and tried to install it but the lock is still there.
Again I tried to download firmware using Samfirm tool but it is asking few details like Region, PDA, CSC, Phone and I am not getting these info. Screenshot of Samfirm is attached kindly help with the required details.

Here is the images of the phone with error, Please provide me some workaround for this issue so that I can get my phone in usable condition.

Riddle me this..

I did have a cd burner that was build into this laptop, but persuminingly the Registery machine whiped it out with my friends, who did build this from the ground up, but funny enough I recently discovered the WAMP, so.. I think it can do albums not so sure though, I still have somehow methinks thanks to my story teller friend, about some albums still downloaded though on here.

But how to get it back though, and when and how I can rediscover an album burner on here then... I could copy albums on my non cloud base platform C:/?

Help Samsung Galaxy A7(2018) stuck at Android Recovery after booting!!

Hello esteemed Members!

Today when I attempted to reboot my Samsung Galaxy A7(2018), the screen got stuck at Android Recovery. Now the technicians at the Samsung Support have advised for factory reset. The problem with factory reset/ wiping data is that I will lose all the important app data as well as other data stored in the internal memory of the phone. I want a way to exit the Android Recovery without losing all the data or want to somehow backup all the data before attempting a factory reset.

Please help!! Any help from the experts will be much appreciated.

"No Connection" error message

I'm having problems installing apps on my recently purchased (2nd hand) Android phone. I keep getting the message "No connection".

I've done obvious things like reset the phone to factory settings.

This is the second such device I've tried. The first phone had the same problem. I took it back to the shop and exchanged it. The second phone had the same problem. Probably not a fault in the device.

I have used the same Google account on both devices. When I registered on the phone, it asked for confirmation on the tablet. Probably not a problem with the account.

Google on my phone is displaying a message showing me as signed in.

The phone settings shows I am connected to my WiFi. I am able to run Google searches, for example. Also, I tried it on different wifis. Probably not a problem with Wifi.


Pre-installed apps on my phone seem to work. I've tried several without any problem.

The model is BLU Life Play.
