Hi All,

I had some issues with the battery and storage before, that I did not pay much attention to. Today, my phone reached 3% of charging and just restarted. After the restart, I have the following issues:

1. The lock screen do not work, although the password option is set, and it was working before.
2. The home and App overview buttons are not working (software ones). Only the back button is working.
3. I can not download anything from the Google play store (always pending).
4. If I set a wallpaper, this setting disappears after restarting.

I have restarted the phone several times, with no luck. Afterwards, I have deleted many files, apps, and apps data (including that of Google play and Google play services), and I got about 1.5 GB free storage. However, all the above issues are still there, although the phone just became slightly faster than before.

Please kindly help to solve those issues.

I have a new Pixel phone and decided to try out Google Assistant. I enabled the "Hey Google" voice prompt, which when I authorized it I thought meant that everything other than "Hey Google" that I say around the phone is not being passed to Google's servers for processing. Apparently, I was wrong. I was listening to a song, and without warning, I got a notification from the phone with the name of the song I was listening to. That implies the phone is listening in to every sound around it and - in this case - when it was able to pattern match the sound to a song it let me know what the song's name was.

That's definitely more intrusion on privacy than I am comfortable with. Is there a way to turn that off? Ideally, I want the phone to listen for "Hey Google" and if that expression is not heard, I want the phone to keep any sounds it hears local and throw them away. I don't want to have to set 20 privacy options in 20 applications, but would prefer some global policy so that I can rest assured that the phone is not spying on me.

I'm wondering if someone is aware of an app or steps to increase the screen lock security right now my phone only offers fingerprint pin password or pattern and I would like to make a combination of that like fingerprint and pin code for example is that anyway possible?

When I print a document from my phone, sometimes it does not format correctly. If I print the document from my computer, it is one page formatted the way that it should be. When I print from my phone even if I have set it on print view, it may be two pages. I suspect I have a setting that needs to be changed, but I have no idea what it is.

I am trying to code a java app for android phones and tablets that takes voice input and converts it to text. It is working but input breaks off at a random time less after than 20 seconds of speech. Is there some kind of settable attribute to make input unlimited?

I upgraded to a Huawei P30 pro (Vodafone) in Sept 2020, is this phone 5G ready. I read conflicting stuff saying it is and some saying that it isn't?

I live in SW Hertfordshire, where Vodafone 5G is operational and I can't get any 5G on my phone.

Me again. As mentioned in this thread I had to reset my network settings on my phone and it reset the watch (4 classic lte). The issue I'm facing at this time is if Ieave my phone at home and walk the dogs, the watch disconnects from the phone.

How do I keep the watch connected to the phone?

Each time it has disconnected, I go to the watch settings and turn wifi on (even if I'm not near the house). It then connects back to the phone (even though it may be a mile away). I believe numbersync is setup properly (I get notifications, calls, etc on the watch). On the watch and phone both Bluetooth and NFC are on.

I'm a Waze map editor and beta tester, which gives me access to moods that most people can't use. However... I see absolutely no setting, anywhere, on upsizing our moods. How did this kitty get so BIG on my map?

An older app that I need is not available in Playstore but *is* available on Uptodown and ApkPure. Is it safe to download from Uptodown and ApkPure? I really don't want to brick a phone by downloading something full of malware!

I am under the impression - correct me if I'm wrong! - that Playstore checks every app for malware before accepting it so that you can sure it has no malware when you download it. Do Uptodown and ApkPure do the same? If not, how can I inspect a given app to be sure it is safe before I actually install it? On a laptop, I would download the file(s) to my Downloads folder and then run a program like Malwarebytes to make sure it is clean before installing it. In Android, at least when using Playstore, installation immediately follows downloading with no pause between to verify that the app is clean of malware.

My Samsung A71 recently stopped charging, then it died because of that, now I cannot turn my phone back on. I have been doing some reading and it appears other people have had the same problem with the Samsung A71.
My phone on a monthly contract and it finishes in 2 months. Is it worth getting it repaired or just getting a new phone?
Also, I need this decision to be made as which one costs less.

I want to use the android chrome browser without any google login. I press the top right round button (in screenshot example) and the menu does not have any way to logout.

Do not have sign out button on android chrome. (There is a sign out button in pc chrome, but not in android chrome.)

When you have lost everything connected to your sims card, and trying to hold it on forever, but sometimes
it can and will break down throughout time, so always do back up always try to a basic back up with your numbers and write them down, because there could be an electrical storm soon and just have all your information just whiped out from the cloud, search for your extra ones you might have laying around your house, or I wonder if they could sell them from amazon or any higher up machines. But be sure to back up everything, and just learn a walk though out most, be careful of getting a new sims card though, it can erase everything.. Am I missing something? Anyone can fill me into when of getting a new sims card...?

I'm developping an application which targets Android mobile phones and Wear OS:

When searching the application on the Watch directly on Google play, I can find it correctly if typing the name of the app but no trace of my app if I look in the list of apps installed on the phone. I see many other applications but not the app I'm developping. I have checked that the package name is the same on the manifests used for mobile phone and watch. I cannot find information about this issue and don't really know where to search to understand why my application is not listed in the applications installed on the phone.
As anyone already encountered this issue .

Also on my phone when searching for my app on Google play I can correctly install it for the phone. But the button to automatically install the app on the watch is not working. I would bet it's the same root cause that produce both issues.

I have never used my phone to navigate so it's all a bit new, is it normal that google maps keeps asking to be calibrated. Sometimes when I'm out it will come up with the message using the camera to calibrate other times it will ask to do the figure 8.
