App Inventor Java + JNI disassembly

I come from a Visual Studio background. I've built a few Android apps now, and I'm incorporating JNI into this most recent one. I've done this before on Windows and have been able to debug my JNI code with Visual Studio.

I am able to enter in to and step through my C/C++ code in the debugger that comes with Android Studio, but I am not able to view disassembly. And if my program has a bug and it crashes, it doesn't show anything in the Disassembly window except a blank screen (all white where the editor / text would normally be), and there is a current statement highlighted which is also on a blank line.

Is there some special trick to getting in to view disassembly from my C/C++ source code lines when I'm single-stepping through them? Is lldb not able to show the 64-bit ARM disassembly? Do I have to have my phone rooted for it to work? Or ... something else? I just don't know enough about this developer environment to know what I'm doing wrong. All of the searches I've done have not revealed any hints.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I have one game published on Google Apps: "Retro Tetro". And the app I'm working on now is a scientific calculator called EasyCalc. It is not released, but a beta apk is available for download on my website. If anyone's interested please ask and I'll post the link. It's still buggy, but it mostly works.

Facebook ads push Android adware with 7 million installs on Google Play

Facebook ads push Android adware with 7 million installs on Google Play
Android_headpic_red.jpg

Several adware apps promoted aggressively on Facebook as system cleaners and optimizers for Android devices are counting millions of installations on Google Play store.
The apps lack all of the promised functionality and push advertisements while trying to last as long as possible on the device.
To evade deletion, the apps hide on the victim's device by constantly changing icons and names, masquerading as Settings or the Play Store itself.

The adware apps abuse the Contact Provider Android component, which enables them to transfer data between the device and online services.
The subsystem is called every time a new app is installed, so the adware might be using it to initiate the ad-serving process. To the user it may look like the ads are pushed by the legitimate app they installed.

Researchers at McAfee discovered the adware apps. They note that users don't have to launch them after installation to see the ads because the adware initiates itself automatically without any interaction.
The first action from these annoying apps is to create a permanent service for displaying the advertisements. If the process is "killed" (terminated), it re-launches immediately.

The following video shows how the name and icon of the adware changes automatically and how the ad-serving occurs without any interaction from the user.

Millions of downloads on Google Play

As McAfee comments in the report, users are convinced to trust the adware apps because they see a Play Store link on Facebook, leaving little margin for doubt.

This has resulted in unusually high download numbers for the particular type of applications, as shown in the list below:

  1. Junk Cleaner, cn.junk.clean.plp, 1M+ downloads
  2. EasyCleaner, com.easy.clean.ipz, 100K+ downloads
  3. Power Doctor, com.power.doctor.mnb, 500K+ downloads
  4. Super Clean, com.super.clean.zaz, 500K+ downloads
  5. Full Clean -Clean Cache, org.stemp.fll.clean, 1M+ downloads
  6. Fingertip Cleaner, com.fingertip.clean.cvb, 500K+ downloads
  7. Quick Cleaner, org.qck.cle.oyo, 1M+ downloads
  8. Keep Clean, org.clean.sys.lunch, 1M+ downloads
  9. Windy Clean, in.phone.clean.www, 500K+ downloads
  10. Carpet Clean, og.crp.cln.zda, 100K+ downloads
  11. Cool Clean, syn.clean.cool.zbc, 500K+ downloads
  12. Strong Clean, in.memory.sys.clean, 500K+ downloads
  13. Meteor Clean, org.ssl.wind.clean, 100K+ downloads
Most affected users are based in South Korea, Japan, and Brazil, but the adware has unfortunately reached users worldwide.

The adware apps are no longer available on the Play Store. However, users that installed them have to remove them manually from the device.

System cleaners and optimizers are popular software categories despite the low benefits they provide. Cybercriminals know that a large number of users would try such solutions to prolong the life of their devices and often guise malicious apps as such.

Help Amazon music will not save to my SD card

I don't know if this is an Amazon problem or a problem with my phone. I have a Samsung A20 and recently I have not been able to save Amazon music playlists to my sd card. I have to save to my internal storage. Up until a few months ago, I was able to save to my sd card without any problems. I don't know if this is a probelm with a recent android update or amazon update. I have tried amazon forums for answers and I have gotten nowhere. I hoping someone here will have some answers. To try to fix the problem I have done the following:
rebooted phone
unintalled and reinstalled program
cleared cahe
tried different sd cards
checked for app updates

Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you know about Telegram?

My friend who works as a full-time programmer said everything you saved or you sent in Telegram are deleted very cleanly without any trace left or any archive saved on anywhere that general users don't know. He highly recommends this as a real secure way of communication. What do you think? Do you agree? I am looking for second opinion.

what software is used to carrier unlock ineligible phones?

Hello, I'm looking to start a smartphone resale business, and I was wondering if you could suggest Windows-based professional paid tools for carrier unlocking Samsung phones and also for reliable frp removals. I intend to sell Samsungs starting from the s8 up to 20 as well as the majority of the A series, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

[GAME] [FREE] Zombie Escape : Run Or Die

Hi guys
I make a game on the topic of Zombie, hope everyone will support and help give good reviews for my game
Everyone plays the game and gives me suggestions to improve the game better and better.
Thank you very much

The game is not a zombie slashing action genre
The game is a kind of waiting and capturing the exact moment to move the character safely. Along with using support items along the way to kill zombies

Reviews Revisit screen protectors

I just read an article on 9 to 5 Google about approved screen protectors for our Pixel 6 Pro. Here's the article:
https://9to5google.com/2022/07/29/pixel-6-screen-protector-fingerprint/
It mentions the fingerprint sensor. If you use a protector that isn't approved, you shouldn't expect the sensor to work. I have proof that it ain't necessarily so!
I've been using a bonded Whitestone Screen Protector since buying my phone. If you install it correctly and reset the sensor once it's installed, you won't have a problem. The only issue I have found is that I need to use the pad of my thumb to open my phone and once opened, I use the tip of my thumb for everything else. Why, I don't know. It may have to do with how I set up the sensor. For whatever reason, it works. The sensor is quick and accurate 99% of the time. Occasionally, I do have issues with the sensor not working and I have to use a password. However, that occurred on my previous phone too, where the sensor was on the back of the phone.

Bluetooth headphone issue and weird symbol

Good afternoon
Please can someone help me. I have already tried many tutorials but nothing works, my Bluetooth headphones (jabra elite) worked fine for months, and suddenly the sound is reduced when playing any media. The "connected" sound is normal but any media is quiet even on max volume. I have tried reconnecting and restarting of course, but I have also even become a developer so I can access developer options and turned off absolute volume. Nothing works, nothing changes the sound or gets rid of this symbol that has appeared at the top of my screen (please see photo). That symbol is only there when my headphones are connected and I cannot get rid of it, it's definitely connected to the sound issue but I have no idea why or how to turn it off. Please can someone help me?

Thank you

Help Spammed system notifications while their notifications are turned off

I have a Blackview BL8800 Pro that I am trying to set up with all the google apps disabled but I keep getting spammed with notifications like: "Phone won't work unless you enable Google Play services". I'm loading apps not dependent on google and I have disabled notifications on google and google's apps that send the notifications yet they still keep spamming, I never had this issue on my previous Blackview mobiles.

Help Cannot factory reset

So I'm trying to factory reset this device. I power it off, hold the power and volume + button. It comes to the black screen with the broken android with the caution symbol sits there for a while and then reboots itself. I never get ANY choices and I don't get the "no command" error. It's just the broken android and nothing else.

Help!!

Help Slow and Lagging

For about the last 6 months, my Samsung SM-A107M/DS has been running slow and lagging. Although, it wasn't like that when it was new. Plus, I've called Samsung customer service, but they have never been able to help me. Therefore, is there anyone here who may have some thoughts or solutions for this?

Best to-do list app options

I've been a user of Remember the Milk for a long time and love the interface but I've been working with printed to-do lists as of late and theirs doesn't have any capability of changing font size of downloading into excel or word in order to print in different sized fonts. Do any of you who use to-do list apps have any suggestions?
