I installed a 3rd party lock screen to get rid of the emergency call ability when locked (because it's my phone and I don't do health and softy, use your own phone to call an ambulance), but Google Pay gets upset because I "don't have a lock screen". Any way round this?

It's a ge. I don't know much more about it except that it's accidentally been switched on and the only way I could stop it was by opening the door a little. Now it's closed but the green lights are on, and the one to the left is blinking. I have no idea what model it is, though probably about five years old, and of course no service manual.

3 because it's from another country oem unlocking should be available in developer settings
Then I should be able to unlock bootloader through traditional way of adb ?

By the way I found out through metro that if you want to unlock your phone to any carrier and you for example ,bought it at Walmart for metro pcs ,you actually have to go back to Walmart and they unlock it there.

Hi all, I am trying develop an app to show currently playing media's metadata on a TextView. I will connect two Android devices via Bluetooth (my phone and a tablet). The tablet will run my app and the phone will play music. The app will show the song title and the artist information (independent from the media player app e.g. Spotify, YouTube Music etc.) on their respective "TextView"s. At this point, I am just trying to acquire and show the media metadata on my phone. I tried MediaSessionController and NotificationListener so far but I couldn't achieve my goal. How can I get the media metadata? Also, I plan to move on to the Bluetooth part after acquiring the song title. Is this approach logical? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite SM-T220 with Android 11 and all software
updated. I start my digital day by choicing a news app from several I have in
one folder. Recently a few times when I open an app, not any particular one, after the app has
opened and I chose an item to read it goes back to the folder. Despite repeating
opening sequence the result is the same. If I then restart the tablet then all is
well and acts as normal. Whilst I know it is not strictly necessary, from habit
using previous Android versions, I generally close each app when I finish so that
only one app is running. I definitely close all apps before switching off.

I have Bitdefender Security, paid version, installed and it has not reported any
problem.

I have tried online searches to find running apps but none of them so
far have led to settings as my tablet. Guidance on how would also be appreciated in anticipated of future problems

Old phone is faulty, switch on a few seconds/minutes and it will auto shut down.

If I am unable to access the old phone,
1) If I take out SIM card of old phone and put into new phone, in the new phone can I install whatsapp and use in the new phone? Old phone has already installed whatsapp using the same SIM card.
2) If I take out SIM card of old phone and put into new phone, what data will I be missing from the old phone?
3) If I take out SIM card of old phone and put into new phone and use the new phone for some months, then I repair the old phone, can I still get back all the data e.g. whatsapp/sms/photos... in the old phone?

I'm a Virtual Assistant for a company that creates apps for churches mostly.
We have a few apps on the Play Store, their icons there look great, but once you download them, their icons display as a perfect square once they're installed on a smartphone, but the icon on the Play store has rounded corners.

I've reached to our support team but they suggested redesigning the icon and adding rounded corners, which basically is not what Google's guidelines states.
I reached out to Google as well (see attached), then they suggested using Android forums for design help.

We have followed Google's design guidelines but still doesn't work.

It's been already tested on different devices: Galaxy note 20 - Galaxy s21+ - Galaxy tablet 5 - Galaxy note 8 - Galaxy A03s - Motorola E6 Play

I even tried downloading a different App icon pack from the Samsung Galaxy Store and it was the same (for a Samsung A03s).

We know that there are apps or different Android devices that let you modify the aspect of the app icon itself, but we just want to have these apps displaying their app icon with rounded corners once you install them as default, like any of the rest of the apps you can download from the Play Store.

I am using an Umidigi A9 pro phone with 128G of storage and Android 10. I want to do a factory reset to fix some problem and to get rid of many unused or junk applications. There are many entries on the web about backup and restore for factory reset. But I want to clarify a couple of things before I start the factory reset.
1. Most entries on the web suggest backup the phone to Google account before the reset. But a Google account only have 15G of free cloud storage. I have already used 70G out of the 128G storage. If I do not want to purchase storage from Google, is there any easy way to backup all Apps and storage data to PC and allow a easy restore to the phone after the reset ?
2. It looks simple that if I backup to a Google account, I can just restore by specifying the account and it will magically restore using the backup data stored under that account. But restoring from Google account backup data seems to be a complete restore. This will not help to get rid of many unused or junk applications. Is there any way that I can do selective restore (i.e. just restore what I need) ?

All, I'm looking for a better way to track some health metrics that skips manual entry and has some features that I would like.

I'd like to track bike rides. Prefer to have Heart rate displayed. Currently I'm low talent rider, so I don't really need any of the fancy stuff the computes and displays power output ... I'm an aging guy who has renewed interest in improving my health (funny how cardiac bypass surgery can refocus your life!) Just so you know, I have a goal to bike 50 mile trips ... so not a casual ride but definitely not a world class biker here!

Currently mount my cell (S20FE) on my handlebars and I use the MapMyRide (by UnderArmor) ... haven't figured out a way to display heartrate on my phone. I do have a fitbit.

I'm really looking for complete Bluetooth connectivity and components that will talk with each other. I was shocked and surprised that I couldn't get my fitbit heart rate to display on MapMyRide years ago. So I just started tracking each piece separately. As another example, I track my weight by taking photos of my digital scale as part of my 'Solution' .... this has to stop! ha.

I'm hoping that things have progressed. But I get overwhelmed when there aren't coordinated solutions available.

I suspect that the hardest part of the puzzle will be the health app? This will be the cornerstone.

Certainly I'd love to use existing components, but am not against upgrades if they lead me to where I want to be. I think the lone exception would be any suggestion that I need to move to an iPhone based solution? I guess if it were the only way I'd consider it.

My phone recently updated to Android 12 which appears to have introduced a strange bug. I have multiple group texts with family and friends. On some of the text messages some people's phone numbers are being corrupted by adding +52 and making them 'untextable'. In my address book the number shows ok but when I try to text them it adds the '+52' and the text is rejected. The only way I've been able to fix this is by deleting the threads I've had for years (dumb fix). Not sure if this is an Android or iPhone issue.

Well, I got a new sd for the Stylus, which has been mostly behaving. At least it charges just fine, unlike another phone I could mention (Samsung Galaxy A02s). I have been advised that before I use it I should format it 2 or 3 times. I guess as long as it's brand new that shouldn't destroy any information that is presumably not on it. Should I format it with the Stylus? After that, will it be safe to use the nonVanja to copy from another SD? If I do that, which should be in the phone itself and which in the other device? Is there a way to copy only part at a time, maybe photos or videos, for instance, and then the rest later?

1. When I make a call on speaker phone and hold it in front of my mouth, after a few seconds the screen will black out. How do I prevent this?

2. Also, when I make a call in front of my computer, many times my calls will drop. If I make a call from the living room, no dropped calls. Could Wi-fi signals interfere with cell phone signals and cause calls to drop? On the other hand, I have noticed that when the other person can't hear me, this seems to occur right after the screen blacks out. What is could be causing the dropped calls? This happens quite frequently.

I have a Moto e5. I'm trying to backup the files I have on my phone's external micro sdcard. On my phone all of the folders and files can be accessed without a problem. When I connect my phone to my Windows laptop via hub and try to access my folders and files, some of the folders look white in color and show "O" k in file size. Why is that happening?

There's something i want to understand.

My case happend today. I logged in at my Gmail account. And I was suprised that someone added my old gmail accounts email adress as contact and reboot adress to my current gmail account.. the thing is i havent used that account for several months because i ****ed up when i changed my password for that acount after i suspected that someone was getting Access without my permission to that account. Stange things happend at that period. So i was quiet sure i get hacked by someone but withput to know whats right to do at that time i couldnt get a sabe solution to handle that problem. So i decided to set up everything new i needed, take care, get save passwords etc.. on and on.

Now im suprised i get everyghing new. Mobile phone ezc. So i had in fact no digital connection with anything i had used so far.

I wrote that post because there are some strange activitys i dont understand.

Please advise. Samsung GT-S7392, keep hanging, and SIM card detection takes very...very long, it is irresponsive, modern apps seem too heavy for it. Is there a store or light versions of Google play store, Google play services ,Whatapp, Tic tok etc small in mbs (size) that can make the phone fast and responsive like latest smart phone, What are the permanent solutions to stop this chronic freezing/unresponsiveness?

Trying to Rooting it on windows 10 pc is not working, it seems rejecting updated samsung drivers..drivers issue even samsung kies not working trying to update its firmware.

New Samsung Tab S7 tablet, the second one in two weeks and both have the same issues. Probably 5 or 6 times in the last 30 mins the on-screen buttons for home etc simply freeze, when this happens the pull down to view notifications also stops responding.

The only solution is to either wait 1 minute or power the screen off for 30 seconds. Most of the time the second solution leaves me at the locked screen with the keypad buttons not responding.

I have very little installed that could be considered out the ordinary.

It's the latest version of Android 12.

I will have to send this one back in the next few days if I cannot find a fix. Any ideas?

I just got this device. The only website I can access is Yahoo, and I can't use my Hotmail email. Wify connects but I cannot access the web. It says it has the latest firmware update that was put out years ago. Everything else on the phone works, just not internet capabilities. I get server error messages when I try to connect.
