I charge my phone up just before i go to bed, and when i look at my phone in the morning 8 hours later its still on 100% when i look at battery usage its not showing anything. for anything to show up i have to clear the data of device care services. this happens everytime i charge the phone.

While playing a simple game my phone suddenly restarted, till it reached Samsung logo, and kept restarting over and over.
I tried to shut down the phone by long pressing power button, but it kept restarting.
Finally I figured out to take the SIM card off, and it could load!
After it loads, everytime I insert the SIM againg it suddenly restarts, and repeats the bootloop again.
I tried to insert a friend's SIM card, the phone loads, but once I insert the PIN code, it restarts again, and bootloops again!

I also tried the following with the SIM card removed:

• I scanned the phone for viruses, it was clean;
• Safe Mode: bootloops with SIM card initially inserted, and same issue happens once SIM card inserted after loading Safe Mode.

Edit:
I tried the following solutions:

• Recovery Mode: I did only Wipe Cache, it did not solve;
• Recovery Mode: I did factory reset, it did not solve;
• Download Mode: I flashed stock ROM, did not solve (I did twice, once with and once without SIM card inserted);
• Download Mode: Unlocked bootloader and flashed, did not solve!

Model: SM-G970F/DS Exynos.
Software: One UI 4.1, Android 12.

My friend and I text pretty regularly. Starting this afternoon, I wouldn't get a specific message from her, despite how many times she would resend it. Because of the number of attempts with no successes (well, a half success, explained in a bit), she's blaming me for lying, since it logically doesn't make sense for me to not receive one message (that she even tried changing the phrasing) when others are fine.

I tried restarting my phone at least twice, force quitting the messages app, checking blocked messages (hers weren't in there), checking the word filter (empty), and I eventually convinced my friend to send the message in parts. I only got the first half of the message, so my phone is blocking the second half, for whatever reason.

She's giving up for tonight, but she is still mad at me. I don't blame her, since there should be no reason for this error.

Is there a way to fix this?

I don't know why I bought this thing. I should know better: "easy assembly no tools required". Maybe it was because it's all I can barely afford (about $20). It's made out of some cheap crap, particleboard, probably. Th e big trick is getting the round plastic things magically through the round holes at the corners. Then stick the plastic poles into them, make sure they're tight, and build it up to 4 layers. If it ever did get put together, it could barely hold over 30 pounds. Is there some way to get this done or should I just return it? I sure wish I could afford the good stuff.

I have started getting messages from the site Searchpeoplefree. These are not emails or traditional messages...they show up in my drop-down. Very annoying as there are frequently 20 or 30 of these several times a day.
I searched for how to block these, but all of the posts instruct on how to remove your personal information from the site and not how to block their messages on my phone

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me troubleshoot some weird things my mother-in-law's phone is doing.

Two things:

1. The typical google search widget has been replaced by what seems to be a search widget that leads to Yahoo results. Long press on the widget does not give the option to move or remove. It seems locked in place. Also long press on blank area of the screen does not give the option to add any other widgets.
2. There is a 'down arrow' floating on the top right corner of the home screen. Pulling down on it seems to give a news feed populated by facebook articles.

Is there anyway to get rid of these two things and restore normal widget functionality. I didn't see any weird apps that would be the culprit and I couldn't find any settings to disable widgets or the newsfeed pulldown.

1. Is there a way to change the display order for accented characters? Currently, it starts with digits, while I most often need to use accented characters

2. I found no way to remove the underline even after disabling every obvious option in Settings > System > Languages & Input.

Hi guys do you know any android emulators for pc with no forced pop up ads while gaming?

Bluestack is pissing me off, it crash or force a pop up ad while I'm in game, really destroying players experience.
I buy it if they show ads outside the game but forcing a pop up ad randomly is not okey even if the user don't subscribe.
I don't want to be forced to subscribe to get rid of it.

Blustack is shit now compared to back in the days when it was smooth and player friendly. Greedy pigs only care about money nowadays.

All I want to do is make a copy of my phone contacts on my SIM Card. I've tried 3 different android phones with 3 different SIM cards, and not a one of them will copy to the SIM card. I get errors from all 3 phones. I can export to a vcf file but when I try to import to the SIM, I get an error (the exact message varies with the phone). I've also tried several SIM manager apps from the playstore and none of them work either. The apps can read the info on the SIM card but show contacts as empty.

I have come to the conclusion that something must have changed in android as compared to years ago, when I was able to do this without errors. The phones I have tried vary from Android 5.1 to 7.1 . Looks to me like some kind of a permissions problem with writing to the SIM card.

Anybody have any thoughts on why I'm having this problem? Any suggestions?

Can you export contacts to the SIM card on your phone? If so, let me know. Maybe I have to adjust some settings.

I had to. It started acting flaky some months ago, locking up for seconds or, sometimes, even minutes, for no apparent reason, then its fingerprint feature started failing, then....well, a bunch of stuff that made it basically unusable! So a few minutes ago I took a deep breath, reminded myself that everything is backed up--and, besides, since I barely even use it any more, even if something did get lost in the shuffle, it couldn't be that important, what with not even having looked at [whatever it may be] for a year or more!

It's doing its thing right now, installing and updating apps. restoring backups, and so on. It's already vastly improved--I can use it now for more than 5 seconds without any problems!!

Mods, I know this really should be on an Android board, but OT feels more like home these days. Move if you must!

Oh, FWIW this is the Motorola One Hyper that I got....two(?) years ago. It's a great phone and I've loved using it, but it really had become unusable, so wiped it was! I don't know and, frankly, don't care what caused it to become so unstable. As long as it doesn't reappear!

So, presently have a Samsung A53 5G. I NEVER use(turn on) wifi except to download updates for the phone. I use my phone a s a phone period. Talk and text.
Anyway, all of a sudden things like google maps, weather channel need wifi on to use. I never had to turn wifi on before for this.
Very basic I know, but trust me, unless it was switching on automatically and then turn off automatically when I used google maps or weather channel something has changed. I NEVER turned it on myself. Of course, If I now turn it on these things do work.
What changed? Just an old guy who does not understand what changed. Perhaps some setting on the phone?

Hello. I recently got a new phone and upon doing the Smart Switch I opted only to transfer only the last 6 months of text messages over. Of course I'm no in desperate need of the remaining messages. I used the Google Messages app. Is there anyway I can retrieve these messages? They weren't deleted, just not carried over to my new phone.

My spouse just got a OnePlus Nord N200 (free from T-Mobile) to replace an old LG G4. The gesture system and other changes have her frustrated. Need I say, she is not technical at all?

Can anyone recommend basic video tutorials for use of Android 12 or this phone in particular? I have looked at several on YouTube, but so far, they all talk mainly about changing wallpaper or how marvelous, fantastic, and revolutionary it is to change icon colors. None talk about actually using the system -- the gestures, for a big example.

Any help before she tries to flush the phone down the toilet?

This thing has been plugged in overnight and it's still only 24%. I think that's even lower than it was last night. I keep getting these messages about how weak it is and that I should use the charger that came with it. This is exactly what I've been doing. Why do Samsungs have such a problem with their chargers? It seems almost any other phone will work with whatever charger.
