For anyone using a magnetic wireless charging car mount

A couple of questions for anyone using a magnetic wireless charging car mount. Have you found it to work well or not so much?

I've used multiple models of automatic gripping wireless chargers and have not had one last longer than 8-10 months before the automatic gripping mechanism began to fail and/or the wireless charging became unreliable. I tried a non-wireless charging magnetic mount recently and loved being able to just throw it(not literally) up there and not have to do anything else and just spin it if I want a different orientation. If I could combine that with reliable wireless charging that would be awesome!

How frequently do you redo your fingerprint scans?

I've had multiple models of smartphones with fingerprint scanners and although I like being able to unlock my device that way, I've yet to find a device where my fingerprint scans last more than a couple of months, give or take. At that point I've got to delete my scans and make new ones. Maybe the S22U will be improved in that regard but that's a time will tell kind of thing.

How often do you re-scan your finger prints?

ip cam program help

i have a bunch of ip cams most are foscam cameras but a few that are other brands. anyway i need to find a good free to try program that will let me find the cameras and get into then so i can change the ip address the user names the passwords and the ports. i do not need any apps for the phone as i use the tinycam app and that seems to be able to find all the cameras i have ever tried to use.

i had program one time but during a pc reset i lost that one but never needed it so i never tried to find it again, but now i would like to get that back and i can't find it or even remember the name of that program.

the foscam program will not work and i have the amcrest program that will not work and the security eye program and that will not work. so if some one knows of a program that is free to try so i know if it works i can buy it please pas that one on.

Help Colors Flicker In Certain Apps.

I have the Motorola Moto G Power 2021. Yesterday I noticed the colors in certain apps were flickering between color and black and white. Like in Google Voice, my contact pictures would flicker between color and black and white. The same with contact pictures in the message app that came with the phone. Most of the apps that had this problem were fixed when I uninstalled then reinstalled them. I can't uninstall the message app that came with the phone. On Gmail, all uninstalling does is set it back to factory settings. To reinstall it, you go to where the apps with updates are listed in the Google Play Store and update it. I've tried clearing cache and data, turning the phone off and back on, turning off dark theme, resetting app preferences, uninstalling apps I've installed in the last month. I've tried everything short of a factory reset or throwing the phone across the room. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is or anything else I could try, if I haven't already tried it?
Here's a list of the apps that uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the problem. I use Cricket Wireless but this phone didn't come with the Cricket Visual Voicemail app.
AOL
Outlook
Yahoo Mail
Google One
Google Voice
Cricket Visual Voicemail

I've only had it 10 months, plus or minus a week. I don't have insurance. My cousin is going to take me to the local Cricket Wireless store Tuesday. If it's a hardware issue, I'm going to do what I call a "same grade". Same grade is an upgrade where I just get another of the same phone. In this case the Moto G Power 2021. Unless I find another Motorola phone I like better.

My previous phone before this Moto G Power 2021 was the Moto E5 Cruise. I had 4 of it. Moto E5 Cruise #1 developed an audio issue. The only way to get the audio to work right was to squeeze the phone on the front and back side where they earpiece was located. I sent it back and got a refurbished/like new one. It was Moto E5 Cruise #2. It had issues of its own. One was in the now history Google Play Music. I bought a Moto E5 Cruise #3. Long story made short: I lost it. Then I bought Moto E5 Cruise #4. It developed issues. One of which was random restarts. So, August of last year I upgraded to the Moto G Power 2021.
I'm not going to risk another refurbished/like new phone with problems of its own. I'd rather be without a phone while Motorola tries to fix this one or just buy a new one.

Vitamin from 60's/70's

I remember taking a chewable vitamin as a kid but can't find what it was (my younger sister thinks I'm crazy).
It was pinky-orange and round with a band on it. The band was just a wider bit, same color just a little band. Like Saturn but the rings match and are attached lol.
Anyone remember such a thing? Not Chocks or Flintstones...

Wifi and VoLTE calling query

Hi,

My mobile provider has emailed me:

We are very pleased to share that WiFi Calling and 4G Calling (VoLTE) is now available on the Lebara network.

There are (incomplete) instructions for switching on wifi calling, which I've done, but there isn't anything that indicates whether it's active or how I switch between methods.

There are also instructions for setting up VoLTE calling, but I can't recognise any as applying to this model. Again, please assist.

In case it matters, below is the full content of the email.

Thanks,

Ian

Annoying pop-up related to WiFi calling

I have a question about WiFi calling.
I have poor T-Mobile service at home so I use WiFi calling.
I originally set it to "wifi preferred" but found that it would randomly switch itself back to cellular preferred and I would miss calls at home if I didn't notice.
So after trying lots of fixes that didn't work, like resetting network settings, setting phone mac etc. I found what does work and that is to turn off automatic searching for cellular network, and registering with T-Mobile.
My problem is that with this setting, when I am home with poor cellular service, I am constantly getting this big popup on top of everything asking if I want to search for a network. Clicking on no, or anywhere else dismisses the pop-up but it is really annoying. Anyone know how I might disable it? Thanks.

Help Access iCloud Documents From Android

Hello All,
I apologize if this landed in the wrong section. I couldn't figure out how to select the section to which it belongs.

My Question Is:
I have a phone using Android 11. On my Mac computer, I use iCloud to store documents. There is no Apple app for iCloud on Android.
If I sign in to iCloud with a browser, the items I can view/download to my phone are limited. They include Notes, Photos, Mail and a phone finder app.

I'd like to be able to download documents that I have on iCloud to the phone. Searching on line shows some 3rd party apps, but I don't know if they are safe or legitimate. Also, skipping the app and simply using the browser is my preference.

Have any of you been able to download to the phone documents (such as a spreadsheet, Letter, etc.) from the iCloud storage?

Thanks For Helping. It's appreciated.
Paul

Drawer Menu

I've made a simple Webview app. I'd like to add a slide-out drawer of some sort that acts as navigation to different web pages. I've been looking at various approaches including android Studio Navigation activity but I cannot understand how to edit this to show web pages.

What would be a good approach for me to take in this?

Emails and Smartphones

Hello experts: I shall try to be as brief as possible. When, six years ago, I bought a brand-new Samsung Galaxy S7 for my wife, I had to set it up for her to use, since she has no knowledge whatsoever of digital procedures (I am not much better, but I managed it because I just followed, willy-nilly, what I was directed to do). At some point, the set-up process demanded an email address (this could have been for the Galaxy Play Store, but I can't remember). I created a Gmail account for her on my computer, and entered the address. The phone works fine.

However, my wife has a "thing" about emails being sent from google or anywhere else (I created a user account for her on my computer, since she WILL NOT use the internet on her phone (this is part of her "thing"). I check her emails every few months, while she looks on. Very occasionally, she has had an email security warning (read on the computer) that her gmail account has been accessed, but this is because, every nine months, I need to send a message (to myself), from her Gmail, just to stop the gmail account being closed for lack of use). She really does NOT like having to have a Gmail account. Yet, if I were to close her Gmail account, I am concerned lest various functions on her phone (perhaps updating a downloaded app, or whatever) should fail to work. After all, why was it demanded? On a couple of occasions when she has wanted an app downloading and installing on her phone (WhatsApp, or a third-party Gallery), I have done it for her. So, she will allow Internet use on her phone only when she is forced to.

The strange thing is that, when I bought a second-hand smartphone (S5) for my own use, two years ago, there was no demand for me to provide an email address, to set it up. Yet, I am able to use Google Play Store and get updates. So, why should my wife's phone have demanded one?

My question now is this: if I were to delete my wife's gmail account, would the functions of her phone be limited in any way? Would there be any kind of "penalty" for having deprived her phone of the email address that was demanded originally?

Thanks for your patience in reading this. I hope you will be able to provide informed advice on this matter, My wife gets quite upset about the emails from Google, and I don't know how to ease her mind about it. It would be far better for domestic peace, if they did not come.

Work Tablet

The administrator for my Tab has the ability to record audio, record video, and take pics at ANY time. The permisions are definately there in system apps, and Device admin app.

My Question is
Can data upload/download useage or app spefic battery useage be hidden or altered and differ from a nonAdmin View?
Im assuming the folders/files would be easy??

1st time seeing Admin on android

Thanks in advance

S9 - GPS problem - tracking not working

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my Galaxy s9:

1. GPS turns on but the range of my position is very inaccurately
2. Doesn't work tracking system in phone - Maps GPS not working
- in Maps show only the position in which I started the program but does not track despite the movement
- using LTE or WI-FI does not help
3. The phone was reset to factory settings many times and any non-invasive other methods available from Google were also I used
- GPS Test APK does not detect satellites correctly.

Apparently some module / chip has broken. Could someone please write me what I need to replace, please?
Is one element or the entire motherboard?

Thanks!

Recommendation for a replacement remote for Amazon Fire TV

I have an Amazon Fire TV, 2nd generation (a flat square, not a cube like the Amazon Fire Cube).

I installed PBA Bowling app on my Amazon Fire TV and because I kept using the Amazon remote to play the game, the remote doesn't work well. The direction button (the circular one) doesn't react as well. At times, if I press the button to the left or the right, it doesn't respond and I have to press it again, which sometimes causes problems. At other times, pressing the button once results in an action as if I pressed the direction button twice.

I think the solenoids underneath the button were worn out. So I looked at the various options on the Internet and I bought several ones. But most of them do not pair with the Amazon Fire TV and I had to return it.

I would like a replacement remote for the Amazon Fire TV that pairs with the Fire TV, and also has the HOME button ABOVE the circular direction button. This is important because if the HOME button is below the circular direction button, it's confused with the Play button and causes problems when I play games using this kind of remote.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a remote that pairs with Amazon Fire TV *and* has the HOME button above the circular direction button?

samsung galaxy a21 sim question

i have the a21 and the sim tray has the sd card open section and then a sim section closed and then a sin section open. what i would like to find out is if i was to put a double sim tray in this phone would it pick up the 2nd sim and let me use the phone as a dual sim phone?

i have metro pcs and tracfone plans. i had the tracfone plan for 15 years and this past month the wife got a free line from metro pcs so i put that sim into my a21, but that line has been turned off now 4 times in the past month for one reason or another. i found out that if she does anything to her paid line then the free line gets turned off and she has to call metro to get it turned back on, so i would like to get a dual sim phone and keep tracfone for maybe a year to make sure the metro sim does not get turned off again, if it does then i will ust leave it off and go back to tracfone. i do not want to just leave tracfone until i prove out metro will leave the free line up and running.

so if the a21 phone i now have can work with a dual sim tray i will get one and set this phone up for both sims.

Is there a way for custom/advanced "rules"? (based on location)

Hello

I like the rules feature, but it is very limited. I can only set my phone to silent/vibrate/ring or turn on "do not disturb" mode, based on wifi network or location.

What I want to do is, change the directory where photos taken are saved based on my current GPS location. That way I could have a custom directory dedicated for photos taken at work. I take a lot of photos at work and I do not want these to get backed up to Google Photos like the photos I take in my free time.

I hope one of you can provide a smart solution. I would install an additional app if necessary, but I would prefer onboard solutions.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards
