I've had my LG V20 for over a year now... it has been working fine until this morning, when I've started getting a popup saying "lg ims has stopped", about every 10 seconds.
I've searched around Google for a solution to this, but cannot execute any of the solutions that they mention...

1. I have not installed any new apps on my phone in weeks now, so that's not the issue.

2. Many solutions say to call 277634#*# to open a config menu, then open 'IMS Settings' on this menu and change 'IP Version' to IPV4...
Unfortunately, while I can get to the config menu, if I open 'IMS Settings' menu, this error pops up, and switches me back to the previous menu...
This is nuts!!! Is there any way to actually fix this, other than factory reset, which I *really* don't want to do!!!!

I have the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, which does not have the car crash detection feature that is unique to the Pixel.

Can someone recommend a Google Play app for car crash detection? Such an app would:

• automatically detect when a crash has occurred;
• summon roadside assistance and/or contact 911; and
• contact pre-defined family members?

Hello- new to the forum. My wife & I still have our S8 Actives and love them. However, her phone has had its share of problems. A while back her Bixby button froze 'on' and I had to install Bixbi Button Remapper in order to shut down the nuisance Bixby from always running and using battery. It worked great and stopped Bixby from running all the time and recording conversations. Fast forward a year. Her phone has suddenly shut down. It will not start unless it is plugged in. When it is plugged into any charger it goes into an endless restart/reboot mode. I have tried holding down the power button, w/volume down, with & w/o Bixby with no change. I have tried every button combination listed online to no avail. I can get to the Warning screen: "A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.... " Use Volume up to continue or Volume down to cancel. When trying to acknowledge w/volume up or down, the sequence repeats. If I hold no buttons, the phone starts to the Samsung screen and then reboots/repeats. The phone is dead unless plugged into a charger. I thought it might be the battery, so I swapped out a battery from my phone that was removed about a year ago. No change. I removed the power, volume and Bixby buttons thinking they may have been 'stuck'- no change. Any thoughts? Should I just count my blessings and move onto another phone for her?

does anyone happen to know of a good universal type ip camera search tool? i have a bunch of foscam ip cameras and i now use the foscam search tool but today i tried a few of my other ip cams that are not foscams and the search tool did not find them. so i would like to find a universal type search tool or even an ip cam program that is not a memory hog to take my current search tool's place.

i have the foscam program and it will find other cameras but it takes all the available memory and then crashes the pc so i use it to find cameras and change the network parameters but that program still hogs the memory,

so maybe someone can recommend a good program that will run all ip cams and not be a memory hog. i did not find anything that seemed to work

I have an ad on my phone's opening screen that says "Facebook. Find friends and see what's new". To be clear, this is the screen that appears when I turn on the device and before I enter the PIN to access the phone.

I used my desktop computer to make a facebook account several years ago to find a friend from my remote past. Couldn't find that person so closed the account and haven't accessed the account in several years and have never accessed it on any phone I have ever owned.

• Why am I getting this ad?

1: Drop down notification menu:
One of things I liked about my older android models was that when notifications came in, and I pulled down on the desktop drop-down menu, I could click on any one of the notifications and it would go to that app, messages, email, website, etc, and also clear it from the drop down menu.
Now when I click on these notifications it merely clears them from the drop-down menu, but it doesn't take me to the app or website that the notification is alerting me to.

2: Maps:
Apparently my google assistant is using a different version or different path to maps, than my google maps app. Example: When I go directly to the maps app, I can enter text, or use voice typing in the search bar for things like, "Pizza near me", and it will default to my current location, and show me several options.

But when I "Hey google, show me pizza near me" it always defaults my location to my house, (Where I am understandably signed in on google), and the map looks like it is in night mode.
Are these two different maps? Older versions of android google assistant "Hey google" I've used would always default to my current location using GPS, and the map never appeared in night mode.

3: I mentioned this before, but I still haven't found a way to connect my "Hey google" command, with my chosen clock and alarm app, "Alarm Clock Extreme". When I say "Hey google! set a timer for 5 minutes" it always defaults to the android 12 stock app. I considered disabling it, but think it might mess up other apps or the phone in general.

These are all luxury problems I know, but the details....... Lol.

When I try to connect to internet without any wifi connection near I receive message easy to fail asking me if i wish to connect to data internet.

How can I solve this ? .

I'm using Pixel 6 Pro with Android 12. I would like to play an alarm that only rings through my Bluetooth headphones- not the phone speaker, so I don't wake up my wife early in the morning. I've accomplished this by using the Sleep as Android app:

1. Open Sleep as Android app > Settings > Alarm default settings > (scroll to last) Alarm output
   
   
2. Set it to "Force headphones only"

The problem is that the volume of whatever I'm listening to is bumped up to full max volume when the alarm goes off. Terrible way to wake up. Does anyone know of another solution? Perhaps a different app that will achieve the same thing without maxing out the volume?

In Chrome it can be a struggle to get to the desktop version of the page, where you have all the options. Is there a browser that can be made to always fetch the desktop version? Leaving Chrome to just act like a phone.

I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22. It runs Android 12 and One UI 4.1.

What I am trying to do is use a custom notification sound for my text messages (Google Messages). I want a custom sound for one specific person and another for everyone else. I had this previously on my Galaxy S8.

Unfortunately this does not work for me. I have added the sounds I wish to use to my phone's storage. This includes custom ringtones. Those do work as I am able to select them when choosing a ringtone. I can see them in my list of available ringtones. But the sounds I have added for notifications do not appear in the list of available notification sounds so I am unable to select them.

I have tried placing them in the following locations:

• /root/sdcard/Notifications
• /root/sdcard/Ringtones
• /root/sdcard/Android/media
• /root/sdcard/Android/media/Notifications

It's this still possible to do? If so, what am I missing?

i have this a21 from a galaxy and from tracfone that is unlocked now and running on metro pcs. anyway, when i plug the phone into the pc so that i can transfer photos to the pc i have to tap the allow every single time.

on my lg k20 i could set it to do this as well but i never had to tap and allow every time i connected the phone to the pc. i would like to find a button that lets me switch o this on, so that every time i connect the a21 to pc it just opens up so i can click the a21 in the folders and get into the a21 to select the photos i need to move over to the pc.

does anyone have a fix for this?

I am stuck in incognito mode in my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8. After closing down all incognito tabs, then bring the Chrome browser back up, I just have the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the blank screen. Nothing else is present. When I touch the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen, I get three choices: New tab (which creates an incognito tab), New Incognito tab, and Settings. A switch tab option is not presented to get out of the mode. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have searched this forum and see nothing for my Straight talk based Alcatel TCL A509DL. I wish to root this device, I've rooted past devices running android so I'm familiar with the process and won't brick it.

A family member discovered today that google Play Store had updated all the apps on her Samsung phone. It had not done that before so something got changed that enabled it - but I don't know what that is. How does she stop these auto updates? How can I identify which connection is associated with the establishment I'm in? (My phone usually lists 10 or 20 potential candidates, the names of which do not seem to be obviously related to where I am.)

ok i got my tablet going took some time but now it is registered to me. thanks for that help. but what i got it for was our car club photos i would like to put the photos i take from our events and at the meetings have the tablet show them in a looping type display. i have pro show gold but that will not run on the tablet. i downloaded a bunch of apps but they all seem to be able to put the photos in but they show the tool for the creation and i do not seem to beable to get them to just show the photos in a sequence and a loop so they just keep going until i turn off the app.

does anyone know of an app that will let me creat a show with the photos and it will loop until i stop it and will just show the photos and not the rendering part of the program? i figure the rendering has to show for the creation but then when i save it all i see is the show.

I removed this messenger from my phone last year. There were issues with it. Anyway, forget that. So my wife now has Whatsapp on her phone and she's off on business to Estonia next week. So I want to download the messenger but it keeps asking to download the app store first. I cannot. Look, a simple question, can anyone provide a link that takes me directly to the download??? I have a Galaxy S5. It's been getting a bit slow and using battery faster recently so I decided to try clearing the System cache. I followed the instructions :- hold down Volume Up, Home and Power but it just kept repeating the boot-up sequence. I thought I might be using the wrong volume button so tried the other one and now it's saying 'Downloading... Do not turn off target !!'

What have I done, and how can I undo it??
