[SOLVED] Alarm stopped sounding

For no apparent reason, my alarm just stopped sounding. One day it worked as usual, the next day it didn't.

I've tried deleting that particular alarm and setting up a new one--same result. The sounds themselves are fine, as verified with a media player.

All of my volume controls are set to 100%, including alarm.

Ideas?!

HEY GOOGLE

I recently bought a Galaxy A52 5Gg. It's One UI version 4.0 and Android version 12. First time buying a sub-flagship and I'm happy and impressed so far.

I do have an annoying problem that I've researched exhaustively. When I say "Hey Google," it does appear, but there is no accessibility sound. I've tried every fix that I can find, from "accessibility settings, " reinstalling app."

Have you had this problem? Does anyone have an answer/fix that doesn't seem to exist with search and try, and has worked for you? Help!

Help Battery drains in certain conditions only - Solved!

Samsung Galaxy A02 - Android 11.

After testing several apps I found the best one for my needs to be the one in the below link for camera blocking.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.donotspy.app&hl=en

It is the only one that was able to block the microphone and camera in all apps and it will automatically enable the mic when making or receiving the mic on any app.

It has a battery saver option. But I don't use it because it makes the app unstable and it would sometimes quit on me for no reason. I also disabled the device optimization for this app from settings so that it works until the battery reaches 0%.

The app would work perfectly without any issues at all. Even it is left undisturbed for 10 days. Yes my phone can last 2 - 3 weeks without recharging.

If at any moment I restart the device or the app closes and is reopened or I toggle the switch to off and then on again then the battery would drain to 0% in just a few hours. It would only stop draining after the recharge.

I would like some recommendations to stop that from happening. This issue did occur with other apps. But I don't remember the apps that did the same thing anymore.

AT&T a32 Failed to activate with Straight Talk, now locked to their network

I purchased an open box Samsung Galaxy a32 on eBay last week. When it arrived and I powered it on, it went straight to the AT&T activation screen but I wanted to use it with my existing Straight Talk service so I pulled the AT&T sim and inserted a new Straight Talk AT&T network sim and tried to get the phone activated. After several hours and multiple chats with Straight Talk support, during which the phone never activated on their network, I decided to give up on them and just start new prepaid service with AT&T.

When I put the AT&T sim back in the phone, though, it's now asking for a network unlock code. I can put the Straight Talk sim back in the phone and it boots normally (but no service since it never fully activated). So it seems that the Straight Talk activation attempt locked my phone to their network, and Straight Talk refuses to help me or to provide an unlock code. The last guy I talked to told me flat out that they will absolutely not issue an unlock code for a BYOP device (but everyone I talk to has a different story, so who knows?).

Another wrinkle; the local AT&T store sent me to the AT&T unlocking page (https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/). I filled out the online form along with the phone's IMEI but the unlocking process reports "Looks like the device you want to unlock is active on another AT&T account. The owner has to remove it from their account first." I don't know if the AT&T message is the result of its finding the IMEI locked to another network or if the phone really is active on someone's AT&T account.

The eBay seller is supposed to be asking the original owner for details about the phone maybe still being active on their account but in the meantime, I thought I'd see if anyone here can offer me any hope or helpful suggestions. The phone's returnable but it seems like my activation attempt tmessed it up and I really don't want the seller to take the heat for that.

So can I do anything to fix this? Would an unlocking service (there's only one on Craigslist in my area) be able to clear a Straight Talk lock on an AT&T phone? Or is there a reputable, guaranteed online unlocking service I can try? Or another way to unlock/clear the network selection?

I'd really appreciate any help you guys can offer.

Occasional glitch

I had a strange occurrence happen a few times and I thought it was me. I didn't hear my phone ring, but a spam blocker app said I missed a phone call. How could I miss a call when my phone didn't ring. When I checked my recent call list, they were on the list, the calls that didn't ring. A few days ago I found 3 or 4 articles describing exactly what happened to me. Its a reported glitch on the Pixel 6 Pro. Unfortunately, the last time I checked, Google hasn't stated when a fix was being released. So if it happens to you, its your phone and not you. (◉‿◠)

New app idea problems

Good day, I might get kicked out of the forum for asking a broad question like this one but I need to know before committing.
Without wasting you more time I want to ask if its feasible to build an android app that acts as a client half of a 2 part system. If I may explain myself I want to try build an app that can keep track of sales during the day and freeze sales input at certain hours of the day and create and send a report via internet to a parent / server side half of the app while keeping a copy of all sales on its local device. The server side would be to keep track of sales and sellers at remote locations far/near the server's location.
For example
The app on the sales agent's device would record sales and print a receipt per sale and at the end of the day send a report to an admin's device for the admin to be able to see daily sales, totals and commission/ pay earned.
I highly appreciate your comments on the subject and gladly accept your constructive criticism and am willing to work on all the help you may be able to provide. Thank you very much

Root "but xda sez..."

Suffice to say, this is... frustrating.

Wife bought a moto g20, specifically because, of the phones within our shared means, it was the only one that had a painfully simple guide for setting up root and installing it accordingly, on XDA.

Well, install minimal ADB & fastboot, launch the command prompt, and...

nothing happens. The phone is plugged into the computer, but literally nothing happens. Even made a point of moving the boot_root img file to the same directory where the adb and fastboot stuff installed to, but literally just sits there, doing nothing. And the phone is just sitting there with this bright white screen and won't respond to any of the buttons to reboot it, either.

Can't get Nearby share to work from Galaxy Note 10+ to HP Envy x360

I have tried everything that I can think of but I can not get Nearby Share feature to work from phone to pc or pc to phone.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and my laptop is a HP Envy x360 running Windows 11 build 22000.613. Both devices have nearby sharing enabled and both are on the same 2.4ghz wifi channel at my house.

On another note, I can share a file via bluetooth from the PC to phone but If I try the phone to PC the transfer fails every time....

Get rid of duplicates in Librera

I'm not sure if this is off topic but I didn't want to take a chance. I've been using Librera, which is an ereader, instead of Moon+ because it got stuck. Also, Librera is supposed to be able to handle formats other than pdf and epub, which Nook cannot do. I have tried document viewer, though I think it has too many drawbacks. Anyway, I've noticed that some titles are mentioned multiple times. How do I delete all the copies except one? Additionally, it seems not to be capable of dealing with some formats, such as rar, although it lies that it can.

Transfer limits of an internal/non-portable MicroSD card?

Hello, I have an old 2017 Moto E4 Plus (running Nougat 7.1.1) whose carrier I've since left that I recently turned on to discover tons of old family photos & videos on an old MicroSD card, only a handful of which ever got backed up/texted/emailed etc (I mean hell, I have photos/videos of a small concert I went to where influential dub musician/legend Lee “Scratch” Perry performed, & the guy’s now dead, so regardless of their quality, I’d like to think that’s worth preserving...).

Anyway I’d really like to get these files off, but 2 things have been preventing that:

1) Try as I might, I cannot get this phone to connect to my home Wifi. While I have similar, even older phones that do, I’ve tried adjusting the settings, default networks, proxy, IP settings as in DHCP vs Static etc, typing the IP/Gateway of other phones in manually, and though the Wifi will show “Saved,” as soon as I go to a different screen it’ll come up as “Disconnected,” Disabled,” and will not be able to pull up a website, email, the Play store, etc.

Now, maybe I need to just try resetting/typing some things into either my modem or Wifi (granted, I don’t wanna lose internet for the whole house), maybe I can just try buying a MicroUSB-to-Ethernet adapter and connect it directly into the modem, I dunno (but then if its setting aren’t compatible, hardwiring may not work either, I’m no IT guy.

That leads me to the next option/problem:

2) Apparently, the MicroSD in question NOT formatted as Portable... as in, I’ve removed it and tried plugging it into at least FOUR other old Android phones that CAN get on the internet, and THREE laptops, and it comes up as either not supported or unreadable (I assume because it’s not portable?).

I’ve also plugged the phone itself into 2 Mac computers & 1 PC via MicroUSB to USB cable to attempt a direct transfer, only to get messages like “Can’t access device storage, make sure your device is unlocked & File Transfer/MTP mode is selected,” "No Android device found," "Can't connect to device storage," etc (on Mac, the 3 programs I used were Android File Transfer, Handshaker, & OpenMTP; I hesitate to invest in a program if I’m only going to get the same warning). I assume this is because the MSD wasn’t formatted as portable.

The CLOSEST I’ve had to ANY computer recognizing it was my wife’s old 2009 Windows 7 Gateway laptop, which lists the make & model and gives an Autoplay popup of Device Options to “Open Device to View Files,” “Import Pictures and Videos” using either Windows or Windows Live Photo Gallery, Download images using Adobe Bridge. However when I try importing anything, I just get a “No photos or Videos were Found” notice, and when I try to Browse Files, it shows zero Items (again, I’m not sure if that's due to the MSD not being portable...).

All that said, I can nonetheless see a few thousand pics and vids when I go into this phone's Photos app, and I WAS able to email and/or text them in the past, so I'd like to think there’s a way to get them off of here, even if this phone no longer has phone service.

The question is, in light of all the other warnings that I’ve received trying to access this phone (or at least, its MSD) on the desktop level, should I assume that I’ll continue to be unable to get them off by using any USB-based file transfer programs, and that I’ll just have to figure out how to get this phone back online??

(I have spoken to 1-2 data transfer places that they suggested they can do it, and while you are starting at an $80 bare minimum there, with the amount of time I’ve been spending troubleshooting this issue, I’m almost starting to think that it may be worth it…

Anyway, thanks!!

galaxy a21 question

i got an a21 tracfone in January because Tracfone said my lg k20 was going out of service. well, tracfone unlocked my phone the last of march and i want to put a metro pcs sim in it. my wife just get a new phone and had her old phone turned on for life, so i put that sim into the a21 and it would not work. i chatted with tracfone and they told me i could not unlock the phone and if i wanted to it would cost 130$ but i used the number tracfone gave me and the phone is unlocked.

so how can i get that metro pcs sim to work in that tracfone a21 ? will i have to go to metro pcs store and have them mess with it? is seems if it is unlocked i should be able to just put that metro pcs sim in the a21 and have it work. i looked in the apn on the working phone and it has info in it and i did copy that info into the a21 phone.

so does anyone have an idea why it did not work? when i tried to make a call i got an error message that said the network was not registered.
thanks
