I just found out about this. It's supposed to provide notification if something is using the camera and/or microphone. I'd like to know if anyone on here has used it, whether it's any good, if it contains spyware, etc.

I find it hard to believe the US got it first.

I have an HTC M8, rooted with CM12 installed. I plan to use Link2SD.

The stuff that's large in size are:

• Snapchat
• Gmail
• YouTube
• AnkiDroid
• Google drive local files
• Chrome
• Audiobooks

Should I then partition the 128 GB SD card like 50 GB for EXT and 78 GB for FAT32?

Guessing the only thing of these that you'd need FAT32 for is AnkiDroid, and audiobooks.

So my phone just decided to first not have the area where the camera is to not work so when i try to pull notification down it wouldnt do anything so i set fullscreen apps to cover the camera it started to work normally like that, but after 5mins the whole touch function of the screen wont work properly making my phone do odd things whats happening

I tried to install Android's ROM and got ERROR 7, then I wiped out cache, data, internal storage, where was twrp.apk installed.
After that I cant get into boot menu (with Install, Wipe... buttons).
Then I copied twrp to the phone:
sudo fastboot flash recovery <twrp.img>
Tried versions 3.2.1-0 and 3.4.0-0, because I heard for certain phone (I have Xiaomi Mi4) it's necessary to use proper version, though I don't know which.

What's going on now: I can successfully can get to the nice splash screen using Volume Down + Power, then on my PC I give sudo fastboot reboot command and press Volume Up + Power and here is the problem: It has no effect, it just keeps rebooting (I see only Xiaomi's logo).

Lying in bed it's nice to have dim lights, so I wanted to adjust the brightness of the display below stock minimum, and found a guide which said:

Go into: sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight
In that folder open «brightness» as a text file, and change the value from «10» to «1».

The only problem was my phone already had the value set to «1», so I thought, let's set it lower, let's set it to «0.5», so I did. And not long after the phone got a black screen, and I held all buttons to boot, and when it was rebooted everything worked fine, just fine. Except that I now, once in a while, get a black screen.

I'd love to get help to fix that. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

To troubleshoot, I used ES File Explorer again, and opened the said «brightness» file and I saw that it's been automatically (I suppose) set back to «1».

But I have this folder called:
sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight-nits
And in that folder the «brightness» is set to «0» (not 0.5)
Not sure if that "nits" folder is new, or autogenerated or related to the problem.

Both the Moto G Stylus and the TCL are threatening to do just that. The sad thing is that they might have enough storage space for that to happen. How can this be prevented? I think there's been enough permission denials and the like, but just in case...

Hi all
I have attempted to copy a climate control app from my car head unit. S07 radio 4.4 Kit Kat.
The unit is defective and wanted to repair it and reinstall the climate control app.
After copying the app to a USB the app no longer works on the original host. The app is on the screen and the icons illuminate when pressed but nothing happens
It is like the app no longer communicates to the cars can us.

the app did transfer to the USB but is obviously unresponsive on my pc as it is not connected to the car.

Can copying and pasting an app from the host make the original app still on the host unresponsive?

Is there a GCAM apk I can try on my P40 pro? I've found a lot of apks but the sites don't which is for what phone.

So, what I want to make is an android app which can place calls and show its own call UI. I don't want to use VoIP though, i just want to make a normal call. I also don't want to replace the default phone app - it should just be it's standalone thing. Ideally I would also need the audio stream, because I need to listen to it, which is not really possible my getting it back through the microphone.

The only thing I found is how to tell the android system that I'm starting a call, but I can't find anything about how to actually transmit the voice over a normal phone call. I've tried following the docs with creating a self managed ConnectionService, but it doesn't place a call or do anything. Is it even possible to do something like that or can't i place normal calls without becoming the default phone app?

I have an issue synchronizing between different calendar accounts (2 Google, 1 Microsoft Outlook). For some time I thought it was the stock app on my LG phone but have since played around with some 3rd party calendar apps and I have the same issue.

Basically, synchronization downstream works fine but when I create an event on my phone it won't synchronize upstream to the 3 accounts.

Now, when I open the event creation form in any of the calendar apps normally it has a default calendar account selected. It's normally called "Phone" or just "Calendar". If I change this default calendar then the upstream sync works but that's no good as I want all 3 calendar accounts to be in sync not just one.

Does anyone have any ideas on what's happening here? Am I doing something obvious that's wrong? If I want all 3 calendars to show the same events then which calendar account should I be selecting in the event creation process?

I've already tried removing accounts then adding them back in and turning autosync off then on again on my device.
