Communication between 'administrator' and 'user' devices

I'm going to apologizes in advance for all the inaccuracies in what I am about to ask.

I'm a mechanical engineering student working on a project that has turned into some app development the only coding I know is a bit of MatLab- I am in way over my head.

I need to build something that will allow a course instructor to dictate the display of a students device 'user device' from their own device 'administrator device' . The bones of this project would be a set of buttons on the administrator device, and each one when selected would cause a figure to be displayed on the user device. It seems like a bluetooth output from the administrator device and and bluetooth input to the user device would be the right way to go, but I don't actually know if that's possible or what other other options would be...

Any ideas, suggestions, or recommendations would be incredibly helpful

Help Can't Get Out Of Photo App Once I'm In Without Reboot

Just got my LG Stylo 4 two days ago, loving it.

Problem: Once I'm in the photo app, I cannot get back to the home screen or any other app without rebooting. There isn't any circle at the bottom of the screen to push and go "home." I push the button on the right of the unit and black out the screen, then push the button again, enter my password and...back to photos.

Anyone? Thanks.

BroadcastReceiver to exit a while loop in onStart()

Hello everyone,
I'm new in Android development.
I'm stucked in this kind of problem: I have setup a simple application that runs an activity and a service. The service implement a simble BLE communication with a microcontroller.
I created some buttons in the activity that send the modbus command to the service; If the microcontroller's answer is good, the service sends through a broadcast the message to the activity. This part works correctly.

Now I'm trying to upgrade the app: when the activity starts, I want to automatically send few modbus command and setup some textview or switch-button based on the answer.
I did this kind of job:

during onStart() I initialize the broadcast intent.
Then I start a while loop (inside onStart) in which I send 1 modbus command through the service.
I expect the service to answer to the activity by intercepting the broadcastreceiver, and then I send the next modbus command and so on.. only when I send the last command (and so i receive the last answer) I can break the while loop and exit the onstart(). For some unknown reason I cant get this part working.

Maybe becouse the app is stucked in the while loop and so it cant pass the action to the broadcast? (i expected broadcastreceiver to works as a thread so to work simultaneously with the activity).
Maybe I have to cosider to switch to time loop thread to send these modbus command ?

Thank you everyone
Andrea

After conversion to 64 bit for AR App using Unity & Vuforia the Camera does not work

We have an autmented reality app developed using UNITY and Vuforia. It is on Play Store and it works fine.
But after we converted it to 64-bit architecture, the camera functionality does not work. We get white screen and we are unable to scan business card using vuforia and camera doesn't works in other places too like qr code scanning etc. It works in 32 bit architecture. What could be the reason for camera failure in case of 64 bit architecture. How to resolve this issue?

Help [SOLVED] Spell-check suddenly stopped working

Between last night and this morning, spell-check stopped working, system wide.

Moto Z² Force Edition, Oreo 8.0.0, not rooted.

I've long prided myself on not needing a spell-checker, but after heavily using my phone for awhile now--with its small screen--I've come to rely on it for catching typos these old eyes miss. It's very different than using a big-screened computer!

So, I didn't change anything...unless I did it in my sleep. Last night, perfectly normal when I put my phone down for the day. This morning, when I started using it spell-check was gone.

I've done everything from the blatantly obvious (making sure it was still turned on), to the remotely likely (turning data saving off), plus rebooting, all to no avail.

If someone can't help me get it back, I'll eijfaskl 6fxamgf fskhds ljjgff gwzaqep! :goofydroid: :wtfdroid:

Pinning Texts

I just switched to the LG G8 Thinq from a Samsung Galaxy S9+. On the Galaxy, I could pin text conversations to the top of the list of conversations so I wouldn't have to hunt it down every time. I can't seem to find an option for that on the LG. Is that a phone feature or an Android feature?

Help Exynos s10e not recognized by any computer

Hey, this is a strange problem I have been having for some time now... I am apprehensive to include this detail right away as I don't want anyone to jump to the conclusion of it being a hardware problem, but about 2 months ago I started getting the Moisture in USB port error all of the time. I promise, it wasn't wet.

Not the biggest problem in the word, because I anyway always just use wireless charging as default. But it did kind of freak me out none the less, and I wanted to backup all of my data and do a factory reset to see if this helped anything before trying to deal with warranty support for a possible broken USB port. I eventually got the port to think it was dry, and hooked it up to two different windows 10 computers, one windows 7 computer, and my Linux computer (which i have use many times in the past to transfer files with no problems). I promise this isn't a driver issue, I promise this isn't a cable or computer USB port issue.

When I plug it in, the phone just starts charging, the computer acts as if nothing happened.

I went into dev settings and made sure it was set to MTP by default. It was. I anyway tried all the same settings, with no luck.

Nothing changed on my computer, yet it no longer recognizes my phone, which is also unrecognized by any computer I try. The USB port works fine for charging now, and I have tried many cables.

Any ideas? Whenever I try to search about this all i get pretty much is "dId YoU tRy ReStArTiNg It???"

I really wanted to back up all my stuff and flash Lineage :/

SOLVED: Disaster with Android 10 and Pixel 3 - any advice?

Do I have to buy a new phone? I held off for 3 weeks (for good reason apparently) in doing the Android 10 update. Next morning, get into phone and work email and calendar are gone. Icons are blank. Started dealing with this today, spent an hour on the phone with Google India asking wrong questions. Can't move past work blocking software - app called "Google Device Policy."

Every time I try to open my work google accounts, I end up at a screen that says:
Delete existing profile?
You already have a work profile.
It's managed using the following
app:

Device Policy

If you continue, all apps and data in this profile
will be deleted.

Cancel Delete

If I hit Cancel - I endlessly end up back here in circle.
If I hit Delete - I move through set up process and then mailbox says it is loading but it never loads and eventually fails.

I have no internal IT support and minimal knowledge. Looked at websites to roll back to Android 9 but that is past my ability level. Any other options?
