Starting about a month ago, whenever I restart my phone, certain phone settings reset to the default settings. These are some of the settings I notice resetting:

- Pull-down menu buttons
- Sounds and vibration
- Notifications
- Display

There are likely more; these are just the ones that are obvious to me. App settings seem to be fine.

Any ideas what the cause could be? I've investigated if it might be something with recently installed apps but that doesn't seem to be the case.

How do you delete items from the My Sounds section in the Phone ringtone area? I found out how to add but can't see how to remove.

1st off this is on my new Alcatel 7 smart phone model 6062W. Today completely out of left field I am receiving unsolicited chat invites like in the screen capture bellow. Other then the unsolicited chat requests the phone works fine. I have no idea how to stop the unsolicited chats short of doing a factory reset.

Does anyone get a power pop up on the S9+

It puts a 'skin' on the home and or lock screen and is very annoying as at times it prevents some general use.

It does not appear to be part of device care....

I've been playing with JNI and NDK for a couple of weeks and had some success but also a lot of confusion.

I basically downloaded the mandelbrot explorer (open source) from this developers site:

I got it working in android studio and have been able to use the ndk to compile c++ code successfully.

The problem is when I upload this modified code to my phone it always overwrites the original mandelbrot set app I downloaded from the playstore.

I've tried creating a project from fresh and copying over the relevent files/folders, but every time it fails at the System.loadLibrary(...) statement.

Now I've just been trying to rename the package, I do this, then click the button that makes the changes elsewhere in the code, but then that same error comes up again.
If I rename the package to its original value and click the button to make the changes, the app works normally again.

Its frustrating, I can't keep using a modified version of someone elses project, there has to be a solution.
Please let me know if you know how I can change the package name and still have it work.

I have been having some significant issues with connecting to WiFi networks, specifically those in public spaces that require a popup menu to connect to the network (eg connecting to the hospital WiFi requires selecting "I agree" to a privacy statement before connecting). I have no trouble connecting with my laptop, but these menus never pop up on my phone, preventing me from signing in. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution?

I was looking at my call call history and filtered to: Recents > Calls to Show > Outgoing Calls

In my recent outgoing calls, there are several calls to a contact whom I do *not* regularly call. These calls are happening unbeknownst to me. In other words, something is making the call - I physically am not.

What could be causing mysterious outgoing calls from my phone? Hacked? Software error?

This happens with only this same contact and has been going on for some time...

Looking for a tablet but must have following specs:

I can't find ANY reviews with the S10, and I want to know how their fingerprint scanner claim holds up.

I'm actually looking for my Note 10+, which they have yet to produce a screen for, so am going Whitestone Dome for now. Buy an interested in this as well.

I got a uaed tv set from a friend. It works great (thank goodness something does) except that there is a vertical white bar near the center of the screen. I was told this is probably because it got cleaned too much with Windex. Is there any way to fix it, especially cheap and/or easy?

I think I soft bricked my Samsung Galaxy J337U (2018) when I tried to flash it with a wrong TWRP I guess and I am trying to find the firmware to flash it with Odin. I have been searching the internet and I couldn't find it. Flashing it with Odin is the only way to revive my phone I think because I can only open it up on the phone.

What will you do when you couldn't find the firmware that you want?

today i tried to uninstall SuperSU manually (yeah, this was not the right way) to make way for magisk - my banking app isn´t working anymore so i tried to hide the root from it. I read some article on the internet that i have to uninstall supersu before i can use magisk - made sense to me, because you only need one for rooted devices. I did the uninstall, but i wasn´t still able to install magisk. So i reinstalled SuperSU.

After the Reinstallation the App asked me to update the App and reboot - for sure, lets do this.

Bootloop.

the last two hours i tried to figure out how to solve the bootloop. I´m able to get into twrp (3.3.1) and the connection with my PC is stable, i can see all the data. First of all, I installed the Supersu 2.82 zip because i thought its that simple, but it didn´t worked. So i installed the Supersu 2.79 to get back to the start. Bootloop is still there. At last I did the factory reset wipe (data, cache and dalvik) and tried again to install the supersu 2.79 version. Still Bootloop.

Last chance i see is the mega unbrick guide for OP3 (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...vXbYndoY0-3df5FZcf2s-S9nsZ__0Ek-uPTdq4Fs8Oy5s) but i prefer another way, because the device isn´t completly damaged (i think....)

How do I change my widget transparency?

I have seen this pop up in my girlfriends Google activity many times, with no app being used with it. No calls made or texts sent, just this and then the Samsung home ui(home button). Why would this be showing up?

Today I had the same app open numerous times and noticed the screen went gray. So I just hit the back button on my phone (LG v30+) and it disappears going back to my game. Since it was the only app I was using throughout the day I just figured the app was having issues. Later when switching between messenger and that same app I notice an app on my list called Stories is open, with a gray screen. Then I notice this apps icon was that of the app 'coin flip free'. This happened a few more times throughout the night. I deleted coin flip free. Sure enough as you'll see in the file I'm sharing, it isn't done happening. This time using Facebook as the name, as Facebook is loaded. Can anyone tell me if they've heard of this happening or why its happening? I've seen no reviews of the app with this issue other than my own but, will continue to scroll through them. In the meantime I'd appreciate any help.

Side note. The fact it shows I'm typing this in Gmail is unrelated. That's due to me going straight to writing this after clicking confirmation.

I just seen into another thread of app breakage over a phone more then three years,
I am getting my head wrapped around it, so when and if I do consider of getting a brand new phone due to app breakage, wouldn't it seem more different and aimed at the right target? Or should I just keep my moto z2 force? It just softwear updated itself eariler last evening.

When accessing a file, I was prompted for which app to use to open it. In the list was SE Text Editor. Hmmm, I said to myself, I don't have an app by that name; a quick glance at my installed apps confirmed this.

I eventually figured out that that text editor--which I like--is a part of Solid Explorer. Further detective work yielded numerous hidden components, both in SE and other apps.

I want to put icons/app shortcuts for some of these hidden components in my app drawer or on a desktop. But how?

On Linux proper, I could do this in my sleep, standing on my head. But how's it done on Android?

Hello, Need some help here on my wife's phone. We both have identical phones purchased through sprint at the same time. She is currently is experiencing several problems. They may be related. First her home screen is showing what appears to be two screens at once..not icons as display over, but the whole screens. This includes the top info headers. One seems to be offset from the other slightly witch creates a sorta shading or double vision effect. None of the icons (including the app.launcher) of which there are two showing are active..they don't respond to touch.
Second, when I try to connect her phone to our Roku so as to view youtube videos on our TV, it connects, but only audio is present.

Any help greatly appreciated.
