so i was at work yesterday and was talking to customer. well another customer overheard what we were talking about and because i used the word freaking and he thought that i used the Fbomb i got laid off i had no one to back up my claim and the customer was so upset that his poor ears may have been assaulted that they offered him a discount and let my @$$ go.

to make a long story short until i find a new job no evo for me I am so F**KING pissed right now.
 
Man I work in a pretty customer oriented store... Unless there were already reasons to let someone go, they usually wouldn't... Usually if you work your ass off anywhere, you'd pretty much get credibility... Not to knock on you or whatever, but I'd probably review deeper in retrospec to see if there was anything else that could of tied into it...

As for the EVO, you won't be missing much, phones come out like every month now... The next great one is around the corner and 2ghz processors will be here by time you're ready for them... Maybe even 1080p recording who knows!!!

Sorry to hear that. It really sucks, cuz this phone is really something else. Simply Amazing. With this economy so jacked up most companies are just looking for reasons to get rid of people right now. Take it easy and good luck.

I feel your pain bro, sorry to hear that, no one wants to lose a job in this economy. Good luck finding you next one and hopefully it will be better than your previous.
 
Unless you have a contract or work for a union, they employer does not have to have a reason to terminate you. Most companies are at will employment.

Maybe you should work on your communication skills so you don't have to resort to words like "freaking" to get your point across, especially while you are working.

That's most likely what happened. Companies don't want to lay people off because they have to pay unemployment. So if they can find a reason to fire you, then they will. Keep your head up man. Sometimes things happen for a reason.

I understand you guys might not like the thread topic, but this is borderline flaming. And if you read the post he said this happened yesterday so obviously it wasn't his first instinct.

When I was laid off 9 months ago completely unexpectedly, a forum was the first place I went too. I was reeling a bit and needed to find a way to try and get to a good place. And I needed to moan about it.

At least where I went, no one as rude as you was there. And a bit of compassion, it won't kill you.

first of all i busted my but second of all it happened yesterday so this isn't first instinct. but they have a zero tolerance policy to this i wont say the company but they are one of the foremost outdoors outfitters hunting fishing u name it. it's just a part of there policy i have never been written up or taken before a manager i worked hard for this company. but because of the customers outrage and the fact that they complained to customer service and someone there said they thought they heard the same thing it was enough to crucify me.

i only put it here cause i have been on the board for a bit and it was about the evo i will stay on and if i get a job soon i may still get it i just have to use the money for my family now instead of my phone it was supposed to be a fathers day gift not it is going to rent.
 
Hey man, don't listen to these a$$holes acting like its your fault. Bunch of good for nothings. A guy loses his job for some BS and some jerks have to chime in like he did something wrong. I swear. Some people have no sympathy or empathy at all. That's just so completely insensitive it boggles my mind. Why would you say that to another human being?
I got fired last december from a crummy job working at a gas station. From a big name gas station, not a local place. I got fired bc someone stole some beer. How about that? I have no criminal record, passed all employment checks, and I'm considered a very honest person. But hey, I MUST have helped that person steal. And to top it all off, they filed a motion and tried to have my unemployment blocked and make me pay it back. What a bunch of creeps. The company was Mapco. They are a subsidiary of Delek.
Sorry for your poor luck. Large corporations are generally evil, capitalistic , soul sucking machines. I feel your pain. And go ahead and rip me a new one if you want for hurting others feelings.
I bet NONE of you who report me bothered to report the people who made this poor, unfortunate soul feel even worse. Did you ?

Ignore those fools. They have self esteem issues. It helps them to be "tough" on an Internet forum.

I strongly wish they would IP Ban and delete the posts of every single one of these people EVERY time they throw their immature and vocal commentary on a thread. It really ruins the essence of these forums.

I'm glad you made your comment. It's always the same people acting like they're in their mid-teens incapable of handling their hormones and emotions.

To the OP:

Sorry you got laid off. On the other hand... who wants to work for an employer who doesn't stand behind their employees. While a customer-is-always-right approach should be the norm you manage discipline behind closed doors. Terminating an employee isn't necessary unless you feel they are a bad seed.

Doesn't mean you won't get an Evo. Simply means you won't be getting an Evo right now. =)
 
That sucks someone is so over sensitive over a word that you'd lose a job over it. People need to seriously lighten up.

Don't worry about the phone though man. It's fun and all but you don't NEED it. Eventually something better will be in your hands.
