OK. Finally got something that I'm not (totally) embarassed about. Nothing fancy, but it's a work in progress. Got a lot of great hints and apps suggestions from this thread. Thanks a bunch.

Far Left - music and camera

Mid Left - apps and utilities

Near Left - exchange active sync

Center - clock/weather (Beautriful Widgets), calendar widget, call shortcut, Curvefish silent toggle, call history and Guage Battery Widget

Near Right - Pure Grid Calendar and stock toggles

Mid Right - few more apps and news widget

Far Right - just Nathalia Melo (IFBB Bikini/Fitness Pro) for now.

I have 3 questions. How do you get the locked icons to the bottom of the screen, how did you change the background behind them and how did you make it look like they're sitting on a reflective surface? It looks great.

I've installed adw.launcher, LauncherPro and Better Cut, so I think I have to tools to do it. I just can't figure that part out.

He listed the program in the same post you quoted:
I have ADW installed and all I can get it to do is put 2 icons on the dock, one on each side of the app tray button. I can't figure out how to get rid of the app tray button, get rid of the grey background on the dock and put 6 apps down there.

I do think this was answered in this thread already, but...

Tap the square app tray icon and drag it upward. Voila! Now you can drag and drop icons into that space.
