Root Two Releases Two Days, Froyo Anyone? - Sapphire 0.6.0

Everything its working fine for me so far except my facebook app doesn't have the option to sync to my contacts, anyone know why?

hey sniffle, flashed it and I definitely enjoy it. If you could implement the feature for using the volume rocker to change songs (next/prev) then I would be much obliged :)

Also when I scroll slowly down a page on webpage it seems to shake like crazy, bug?

edit: it seems to me like my whole touch is being a little weird on this, when i tap to click links it will scroll/not do what i want it to. didnt notice this before on bugless just before so can it be the ROM?

Hows people's benchmarks?
Chevy 1.25 & P3 1.2 both gave me between 1300 and 1500 with quick setcpu tests showing 150ish for the low average. I hit a 99 once with chevy, but couldn't get any lower than 124 after that when I had dropcap running. I can't get jakes kernels running :(

Getting ready to flash now! Thanks Sniffle for the constant updates!

I feel that the first Sapphire release came out at a bad time with the Froyo leaks out. I'm glad this ROM is now getting some due attention! :D

THANKS! ;)

After 24 ish hours of use, sapphire rocks, not a single issue anywhere, minus the initial boot up, even restored all data from bb v0.8 from 2.1 without issue, however my home screens did not come back. However, all of my apps did fine, and the included kernel seems to run really well, no heat issues at all, is this a LV kernel that is included?

Well done lads!

@ datsyuk, I had that issue with bb and it was fixed with Sapphire, lol

Just flashed this rom, had to try out a source rom since you guys took the effort to put it together. I love the new "stock" notification sound.

However, I to, am having the problem with Facebook not syncing. Also have a weird glitch with the Wifi. It will scan and disconnect repeatedly for a few minutes before finally connecting to my network. Then once it is connected, it doesn't seem like it really is.

Other than that though, no real problems with the rom, and I gotta say, I kinda missed the stock android look.

After playing with this for several hours...I am quite impressed. The two issues I have noticed is that the WiFi hotspot doesn't seem to work and the Facebook sync is missing. Given that this was "first build" for Froyo...I am anxious to see how this ROM will mature. I'm a fan :D

Thank you!!! Finally, an extremely fast, stable froyo ROM! The only problem I have is that when you turn WiFi on, it says "WiFi or Tethering Active" in the "Ongoing Notifications" area. Also, when I try to begin WiFi tethering, it just turns the WiFi off.

Yeah, it turns off your WiFi but then it won't let you actually use the wireless tether (WiFi needs to be off to use that functionality). The problem is that when you then re-enable WiFi...it won't connect. If you reboot, it will give you WiFi connectivity back.

Only issue I found so far was with Listen as posted in this thread. Was hoping something based off of official source would help that problem of it not finding my account. Switched back to my old 2.1 BB install for now since I listen to a lot of podcasts on my long drives to work, but I will probably play around with this one some more today. Will post an updated if I figure out something to solve this problem.

yea I noticed some issues with the wifi tethering not working, yet the notification says its working. and there is no way to get rid of the notification.... anyone test it out long enough to tell me how the battery life is?

Don't know...can't get it working :( (not like we don't have another alternative :))

If yours says that it's working...you got further than I did with it ;)

around 1100 - 1250 no drocap sorry, problem with crazy screen and "login failed" with maps however, didn't do this after install, just started, attempting to un/reinstall, etc

edit: fixed with reinstall...

Loving this ROM! Smooth & stable. Only issue I had was while playing music in the car, the media volume dropped to zero. I'm not blaming the ROM, but I'll test more to see if it happens again or I can isolate the issue.

This is the first ROM I've been able to get Chevy's ULV 1250mhz kernel to run on my Droid. Only had it on for a couple hours so far but no other ROMS held the kernel for more than 10 mins. I did run the stock kernel for about 13 hours today and it only ate up 40% battery. Maybe slightly better than avg for my light usage, but no worse than any other froyo rom.

With Linpack I got benchmarks in the mid 15s with stock kernel & high 18s to low 19s with the 1.25 kernel.

+1 to the request for volume rocker to skip tracks. Its just a great feature.

Looking forward to future updates. Thanks again!

So does anyone know a way to get rid of this hotspot thing? I have looked and apparently don't know enough about this stuff to know what I'm looking for. There's nothing listed in running/all apps, and I'm not about to go blindly looking through system folders.

I use my Wifi a lot, but this pointless app is rendering it useless.

the wifi hotspot is a known issue :-) we'll be releasing 0.6.1 soon that should correct the issue. there are several small bugs with this being the first from source rom produced we knew there would be small issues... :-) we minimized as many as we could before hand

ROM is running really well...nice work :)

There are a couple of games that won't play...and the Facebook issue but I imagine future releases will correct those issues.

The one thing I have not been able to do on ANY Froyo ROM is watch mp4 videos with the stock as well as every 3rd party video player. Any idea if this can be addressed?

No ROM built from the source has Facebook sync at this time. Known issue and a resolution is being investigated.

Actually, to sync FB contacts, go into the FB app>menu>settings>sync contacs. For some reason it's defaulted to off in the FB app.

Hmm, really? When I tried it, that option wasn't there and that's pretty much what everyone's experience is, unless something changed overnight. :)
