System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Not rooted, very few apps. I've let that screen sit for as long as 15 minutes before pulling the battery. Tried with power (no LED), tried without the memory card, tried connected to the computer (acknowledges a device was plugged in, but drivers not loaded).

I was just about to complain that other people in my city (atlanta) had gotten it and I hadn't when I got it. Only got an HTC update though, no firmware.

There is no firmware update, only the HTC.

Question though. My phone did not reboot after the update and I'm not having any issues with widgets. Basically nothing happened.

In fact the HTC software update offer is still there however I'm not going to touch it due to the previous brick post (thank you thank you thank you for posting that as I would have surely done it again).

So how do I check to see what version I have?

I may be going crazy here, but my notification sound is louder than it used to be now...anyone confirm this? Otherwise I'll go get the straightjacket.

Well now, I got two updates and the second one seems to have briked my phone.

I have no root and my screen wont turn back on. I'm going to try pulling the battery as it's been about 30 minutes since my screen went dark.

--Update
Okay, that' didn't work, my phone is dead and I'm not happy!

Are you rooted?
Do you have a lot of apps installed?

It took me about 5 minutes in that screen.
Just want to underscore this comment... when I installed the update on my unrooted EVO, there were a few times when it just sat on a screen for what seemed like forever (5 or 10 minutes). It finally completed successfully, but was a little nerve wracking here and there.

Did the update... when the phone rebooted... it told me an update was available, and asked me if I wanted to install update 1.47.651.1... :\

Check of software version confirms Build number 1.47.651.1

I'm leery of letting the update install again...

I had the exact same issue. I wish I could tell you how to fix it, but I can't even get my phone to power up.

All of the EVO Brick fixes I've found involved using the boot loader (hole tow volume down while hitting power) but since I can't power up the phone, I can't do that.

I'm going to call Sprint (hopefully I can get past 1st level support quickly) and also continue researching. If I find a fix, I'll post it here.

Don't do the update again, it completely bricked my phone the 2nd time

I'm going to march my @ss down to BB and give the fking thing back and just wait until it's stable. It would be my 4th EVO. My only option now to switch to a different provider for a month if I want to keep my number.

I can boot into the bootloader no problem. Not to say I haven't screwed this up myself with my impatience, but I'm trying to reboot now (11:05). I'll step away from the phone for awhile and hope things magically work themselves out.

Yeah, same here. On mine it went thru about 5 reboots too...I started getting a bit concerned. It's not a quick process, so make sure to let go thru it's steps.

Also, make sure you've got enough charge on the phone or keep it plugged in. I would imagine bad things would happen if your battery dies in the middle of the process.

Mine has been installing for a few mins now... (about 3-4 mins) and has restarted twice I think. I also unrevoked as well. Lets see what happens...

My update went very smoothly....So far I have noticed I dont have the grounding issue any longer...IE. I can lay my EVO on the desk, couch and not have to touch the sides to use the screen......Whooo Hoooooo so glad of that I sometimes would get tired of holding it just to use it
