Along the same lines... were there any famous assemblies that occurred in what is now NY during the revolutionary war? I don't really do history, but thought I'd throw it out there.
 
Okay, I've never lived in a big city in the US, only in Asia. I don't think I'd feel comfortable driving into Harlem and poking my head around every alley. Not even just because of criminal, but because the people in NY seem to e very good at spotting things out of the ordinary, like the terrorist that just got caught.

This almost convinces me for sure the phones are not just hidden somewhere. ESPECIALLY if it's at one of the monuments.

Federal agents wouldn't comply with a contest for cell phones. If anything's been hidden around there for days, it would have been collected by security (police, Port Authority, FBI, DHS, etc...) teams by now.

Or, is NY really nothing near as secure as I would think it is?
 
I agree. You can't just hide packages in cities. If it was something you can find in NY by just looking around, someone else would have found it already. If not the police, a box laying around would trigger some homeless person to open it. Then they would find a brand new cell phone and try to sell it. None of this promotion really makes sense. I don't think Verizon left cell phones around.

I've been trying to follow all of these clues on Google Maps hoping that something would pop up to click on and claim the phone, but nothing. I think Verizon really needs to help people out and tell us what we're looking for....A physical object hidden at some location or a virtual object that we have to find on the web with the set of clues.

I still don't think anyone is going to find anything until the 4th of July. Right now is just the build up and hint process. Everyone put your thinking hats on and when they finally say go then thats when they'll be out there either as a redemption code/retweet or a rep handing you the phone. They will not be putting random boxes in cities. Won't happen. People not a prt of the contest would find them or major issues with homeland security. Think about what you would do if you saw some guy hide a box somewhere? You'd either call the cops or look to see what it is.
 
Just went by a Verizon store hoping they would know the full retail after the meeting they had last night but they don't. She did say that the other new phones coming out around the holidays are going to be insane. She knew nothing about the Droidlanding. She said she was also pretty sure that even though I bought the Incredible the 2nd day it was released she said they would probably let me upgrade to the X if I bought 3 accesories to go with the phone. Hopefully this is true

What does this tell us? Absolutely nothin!!

Someone call me in about a week. There may be an actual clue by then telling us where the hell to look!
