so someone on another forum just posted that they got their inc delivered today with the WRONG CHARGER! So after this long wait, they can't even charge the F'n thing! I hope that HTC isn't getting sloppy on my Dinc! And just cause i need to vent.....WHAT THE F?!?!?!?! I havent seen a single notification go out today....please someone say they got an email! 6/5

LOL! same thing happened to me last week....on thursday they were like your phone has shipped overnight and you will receive it tomorrow by 7pm....but we don't have tracking info. Needless to say, no phone, and today it still has not gone out. They just say what we want to hear so they don't have to deal with another pissed off hostage....

I'm eligible for an iPhone 4 upgrade (current iPhone owner), and sadly I'm really considering it after all that I've been reading today. If I don't get my phone this week, it would be hard to resist.
at least wait until they fix the iphone4 reception problem before you jump ship
I have been seriously considering this as well. It's a race right now, Apple fixes the iPhone 4's problems or I receive my HTC Incredible.

When I heard that we could switch out for the X, I called Verizon to do this (after making the mental leap from "I want a DInc!!" to "I want an X!!"). The CSR told me that I could neither switch out nor cancel my DInc order right now. Instead, I'd have to receive my DInc and take it into a VW store to exchange it for a place on the X pre-order list.
Keep in mind that what you are told depends upon who you talk to. In case you haven't noticed from this board, every CSR seems to have a different answer for the same question.
Like you, I'm on the fence and leaning toward the X (and like you said, what's another two weeks at this point?), and I completely understand why bpman moved on.
One option I've seen is not to cancel your DInc but simply to not accept the Fed Ex package when it is delivered, so that it gets shipped back to Verizon. Whether there is a restocking fee for this, I don't know. Frankly, I didn't realize there was a restocking fee for returning the phone within the 30-day window.
Edited to ask: does anyone know what the best method is for switching to the X at this point? I have no clue which way to go if I decide to do this and different stories from various CSRs are not helping my decision-making process.

Yeah, I've given up on trusting what any one CSR tells me because I get a different story with every. single. call. I figure if I call enough times, I'll get the answer I want.

If you paid with a credit card, call you card company and find out what their rules are regarding resellers and billing. Many card companies do not allow the seller to bill until the item has shipped. If this is the case, call CS and politely tell them that they have violated the terms and agreement with your credit card company. I told them this and they offered a refund. I did not want a refund but rather just wanted them to not bill my card until the item was shipped. They told me there system was set up to bill when ordered and they could not change that but they could refund. I am going to stop by Best buy on the way home and get on the list for the X. If it comes in before the incredible I will cancel my order.

Alright, I guess it's time for me to chime in.
I ordered on-line on 6/5. I called CSR today for the first time to check the status of my order. I spoke with a sweet lady named Joleena who was as nice as she could be. It's a shame that she had no clue about my order. So, after 25 minutes on hold she transferred me to another CSR who told me that my order should have been shipped on the 25th, but due to unforeseen circumstances it would be delayed. He did not give any reason in particular why it was delayed or tell me me when it was going to be shipped out. I asked him if it was a Y2K issue, he said he did not know. So I still wait.

just got off the phone with a CSR, and they told me that order taken 6/3-6/5 should get their orders shipped out tonight as they just got a shipment in. hopefully it's true because it sounded like the guy knew what he was talking about.

Called back just for S's and G's and this time spole with a less friendly CSR. She was agitated that I'd actually call twice in one day. Either way, she stated that the order did not ship because if it did she'd have the shipping number.
She also said that I would have the Incredible by 6/30, I guess they are going to teleport it to my house since they sure as hell aren't shipping it.
This phone had better be good. Real good.

Hmm, I like to hear that information, I guess we will find out in the next few hours via shipping emails if that is true or not. Unfortunately the only thing I will believe is the your order has shipped email, as the CSR hijinks the past three weeks have covered just about every conceivable option, true or not.
