I updated and I'm using LauncherPro right now. I was never rooted though.

Sorry this happened to you, and everyone else. Hope you stick it out for your 4th EVO. Which I'm sure makes you :mad:.

HTC really screwed this one up.

Agree, probably thousands of phone will be returned due to being bricks.



How would you guys like a refurbed brick? I know I wouldn't. No telling what turmoil happened to the software.
 
I know we're all trying to decide if our imagination is taking advantage of us, but I think this update helped with camera AF.

Ever since I got the phone it tended to search for focus and land just slightly out of focus, even though I saw the image clearly 1/8 second earlier.

After this update I find the barcode scanner captures much faster and the AF in the camera app also seems to be faster and right on-target.
 
Definitely experiencing improved Wifi after the update. Better signal strength seen using 'Wifi Analyzer' app.

Also seeing much higher speeds on the speedtest.net app. Before update the highest I could get was about 12-14 mbps down, now I'm seeing 18-22 mbps.

Pretty close to my quad core computer which is getting about 25mbps on the same connection.
 
I am oh so certain this is helping out battery life. Yes, I disabled facebook notifications this morning so I'm sure that's helping also, but I'm at 5 hours and i've done some talking, a good bit of browsing, took a few pics, checking emails often, and had the wi-fi on for probably and hour or so. Kept 4g, BT and GPS off and it's at like 75% battery life left. I'm impressed.
 
From what I read from the forum GTalk is tied in with your gmail mail. Some says they dont get emails when GTalk is killed and some says they get their emails even though its killed. For all I know it does not hurt the battery when it is not killed as long as you signed off correctly from GTalk.

This is not the case as I have WiFi and 4G off here and GTalk comes back on when it wants to on its own without messing with any of the networks.

Does anyone know the location of the Android Wallpapers? In Astro I was able to locate the HTC wallpapers folder, but I cannot find the Android ones anywhere. If we can find them, It might be possible to save them exactly from phone without downloading from that site that has been shown a few times.
 
I suspect they enabled wireless N with this update. The chip in the phone is fully capable of it. Does anybody know for sure? I have a multiband router, so anything can connect to it, but I've gotten a very nice wifi speed boost after this upgrade.
 
Wow this update is amazing! Granted I flashed the stock ROM ([ROM]RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.6 - xda-developers) before updating as I was experimenting with custom ROMs.

My memory is around 200MB free as apposed to having around 115-150MB before the update with or without stock ROM. Granted I am using Advanced TAsk Cleaner 2.0 to manage my running apps.

This is the fastest EVO so far and I have tried overclocking it as well.
