Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

So got my shipping notice today. The only problem was because of my "hassle" they upgraded my shipping to overnight. Well when they put that onto my account, the shipping department either did not see it, or they ignored ti and sent my phone 2 day.

I talked with a manager and she was going to try and get it fixed with Fedex and call me back...that was 4 hours ago and no call to this point. So it looks like I will be getting the phone on the 30th.

Order Date: 6/3
Shipping Date Given: 6/24
Pissed off date: 6/24
Actual Shipping Date: 6/28 (two day shipping)
Receive date: 6/30 by 3:00p

6/17, processed 6/18.

Lets just hope that Verizon will get a huge shipment of the newly screened D.Incs and we'll get it early! Unlikely though.. :(

Yeah!! I was just thinking about this today. I would be really excited if this did happen. :(

6/17 here :[ I really hope we get ours mid July..but it sounds like people's orders just keep getting pushed back..

Wow, I hope that doesn't happen to us, **crosses fingers**, it would not be fun at all. :(

Just a bit short of bamboo underneath the fingernails.

Yupp, lol.

Me...!!!

So the Store rep asked you to call in on Friday for the tracking no?
I was asked not to expect anything till mid july :(

Yeah, I ordered in store and they told me to call back in two weeks to get a tracking number. It feels like many weeks have already passed :(. I have a strong feeling it will be mid to late July before we get ours :(

I will be calling this friday to check on my 6/11 order and sadly I am not expecting good news. I'm ready for the CSRs to yell at me when I call, "The phone still hasn't shipped!!! You will be notified when it does!!!!!!!"

Aww nooo! :( I can't believe it hasn't been shipped yet, I hope you find out soon!! :)

I am close, 6/21. The wait is already painful...now I am starting to question my choice as well. KEEP THE FAITH!

Ohh yeah, the faith is going strong! :)!!

6/18 here ): My rep told me it'll be shipped by 7/12 .. Which is another 2 weeks from noww!! )': This phone is making me so impatient lOl. Well, hopefully that was some insight for those who didn't know there ship date! But who knows, could change.

Wow!! Thats awesome!! I hope I would be able to get mine shipped around the 12th, which could be possible. The ship dates seem to be very random. I guess we just all have to hang in there and keep each other updated :D!

Good Morning, all! Are we ready for another long day of waiting for just a tidbit of good news? :) Let's just hope we start hearing about folks getting their email notifications if not their well-deserved phones! Seeing as this is my first official day past my Ship By date, I think by the end of the week I'll be good and ready to start harrassing Verizon CSRs! ;)

Today is the day...my promised ship by date. I don't have access to personal email at work so I won't be able to check it for 10 hours. I'm not expecting much...

Well today is the day (apparently!) I spoke to CSR last night asking when I am supposed to have my phone shipped by. After about 10 min. of being on hold I was told "it looks like by your order date, it should be shipped tomorrow and we have implemented a one day shipping on all orders because of the inconvenience." So....we will see. Also how true is this one day shipping? This really has been quite a gong show if you ask me, especially after my wife was told it was supposed to be delivered to me for my fathers day gift. If I don't get a tracking number tonight....hello moto

Same here. I think I will call for the first time tomorrow, stay nice, but inform them I know my rights, and I know they are in violation of federal law by not notifying me of any shipping delays, and see where that takes me. Of course if by some miracle it ships today, I will forgive one day late :)

The chances of you getting your phone upgraded to overnight is slim to none. In fact I don't think one person who has had that told to them has actually gotten it overnight. That has been a consistent lie told for at least a week now, and probably the thing that ticks me off the most. Bad enough people have to wait longer than the promised date, but then to lie to them on top of that. Unacceptable.

You know, I could forgive 2 or 3 days late, but 5 or 10 is just a little over the top. Verizon continued accepting orders for these phones (and grabbing our money up front in the process) knowing how far out the backorders would be, and currently they still can't fill all the earlier orders! As we all know, that's bad business. But they're sitting on our money and we have no phones, and I think that's what irks me the most. And from the sounds of it complaining to customer service doesn't do squat for most people. I do keep hoping for the best but then again, we're dealing with Verizon and know the incompetence we're dealing with!

More haiku later.
For now, too much to report
In five syllables.

Ok, so I just got off the phone with Verizon. The call lasted 34+ minutes, and I spent probably seven or eight of those minutes on hold.....

I'm a 6/7 in-store order. Paid on the spot. Was told that my order would ship on 6/28, with overnight shipping and be delivered on 6/29.

On 6/18 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Jane" who assured me that my order was on track for 6/29 delivery and that I would not be affected by the 5-day additional delay affecting some customers.

On 6/24 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Bill" who said, and I quote: "Some customers may experience a delay. Your order looks fine." I pushed him on this, and he confirmed that my phone would be in my hands on 6/29. He promised to send me a text message if anything happened to change that.

On 6/27 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Mary" who said that my order was unaffected by the 5-day additional delay and would absolutely positively ship on 6/28, and that I would receive a confirmation text message.

Today is 6/28, or at least it still is in my time zone. I'm set up to receive text messages one way or the other. No message. No e-mail. No nothing.

Another phone call to Verizon, and I'm talking to a friendly but totally clueless CSR who is clearly reading off a sheet, and not very well at that. I listen patiently, then gently ask to speak to a manager. I get put on hold forever, and then the CSR comes back and reads me more stuff. I interrupt once it becomes clear that we are going NOWHERE with this, and that I really truly do need to speak to a manager.

The manager, a somewhat-defensive person by the name of "Sally" gives me an entirely new line: orders with a ship date of up to and including 6/28 may be delayed an additional TEN days.

I responded that I was told my order was unaffected. I was told this three times. She said that I should not have been told this, and that (reading again) "specific customers cannot be identified in advance." It was (ha ha ha) a lousy connection and I was having trouble hearing her, but the text she read also included the words "very sporadic."

I think it's safe to say that this is more than "very sporadic." This is "very widespread." Maybe "sporadic" describes the people who actually have their phones.

This is not the CSRs' problem. This is not the managers' problem. Unfortunately for them, they're the ones who have to deal with the customers, and unfortunately for us, they're the ones who are spreading misinformation and making promises Verizon can't keep. So at this point I am pretty cranky. If I had been told up front that the wait was going to be 31 days instead of 21, I might have made a different decision about my phone... iPhone, perhaps?

This is horrible business practice by Verizon. I realize that some of this is beyond their control, but the way they're handling it is something they CAN control. And they've been awful.

"Sally" and I parted amicably. She helped my account balance a little, and in return I had to promise that that would be the only settlement I would receive about this issue. Fair enough.

Sounds the same. I was told mine would ship out yesterday right up until I called last night before bed. The CSR finally told me that the delivery is pushed back 10 days now. She said this is the worst case, it could be sooner (right eh?)
At least I got someone to fess up that they were running late. I don't think they will tell you until your phone is officially late.

Not enough parts, high demand, bla bla bla. I am really suprised that the media has not picked up on the fact that verizon's flagship phone is basically dead in the water. I stopped by my local Verizon store and it was basically empty. They have no new products to bring in customers. It has to be killing them at a time when they could be swiping market share to give it up because they cannot get t he products.
I am hoping it comes before the weekend but if not I will take the Moto X when it comes out. I am losing all confidence with this phone.

Today is supposed to be my day as well (ordered 6/7, ship date 6/28, receipt date 6/29).

In a sure sign that I've spent too much time lurking on this board, in my head I've already tacked on the supposed 10-day delay to my phone delivery date, and have zero hope of seeing it until next week. Gah.

This doesn't mean I won't be calling VZW and harassing them, however...

Bingo. I wouldn't be nearly as irritated if VZW hadn't been sitting on my $200 for the last three weeks without giving me anything to show for it.

I've wondered about the lack of bad publicity on this as well, aside from all the angry folks on internet forums. :p

Question for all, from someone who has never paid attention to this sort of thing before: is this type of delay for a phone unprecedented? I keep reading that the same thing won't happen with the X because Moto has its act together, etc., etc., but is there any reason to believe that people will be able to waltz into a store on 7/15 and buy one, or have a wait that lasts no longer than a day or two?

I realize supplier issues play into the DInc's problems, but this whole situation has made me skeptical that VZW can adequately gauge customer demand and given the number of people jumping the DInc ship to get an X, thereby increasing demand further, I can't help but wonder if the X will be DInc, part deux.

ETA: I just read this morning that Apple now has a three-week backlog on orders because they sold 1.7m iP4s in the first three days.

I'm not sure if this is normal for a phone, but it does remind me of the way video games used to be. I remember hearing about people camping out to get a video game because the store would only get so many. As for this not happening to the X, I believe it. VZW will probably have close to 1 million phones (just an estimate) in hopes of selling all of them in the first couple days. This way they avoid the Incredible backorders and also break the iPhone's record for selling the most in the first 30 days. Also, the materials that are being used in the X are similar to the ones on the first Droid they released, so they still have plenty to supply, the only way there could possibly be a delay is if the delivery trucks run out of gas at the same time.

6/5 here. I called again this morning. CSR stated phone will ship no later than the 30th (tomorrow). She also said she would text me the tracking information. I will be holding my breath. The last thing she said was that due to recent events, Verizon will changing their marketing slogan to; "We're not satisfied until you're not satisfied".

OK, so I made the last part up.

Well I have been patiently waiting for my DINC since 6/3. Called in yesterday and magically my order was canceled somehow on 6/19 without notice. Oh, and still no refund. So, I have been waiting over three weeks for nothing, and the only solution with these bumbledicks is to re-order. No way am I going to wait a friggin month. I am done dealing with ordering straight from verizon, their customer service is a joke. Going to Best Buy today to hopefully pre-order the X

See you all on the Droid X page, so long Incredible.

Oh yeah, I filed a complaint with the BBB, but that will probably go nowhere.

Sorry to hear about your canceled order. That really sucks!

Again Verizon Wireless at their best.

 OMG!! I am so sorry to hear that! What a waste of time... makes me wonder how many others of us are waiting that this has possibly happened to. That is so f**ked up. I don't blame you for bailing on this phone. At this point I would do the same thing. I read that Incredibles won't fully be back in stock until 7/26. Get it together, Verizon... you've pissed more than enough people off.
