Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Droid Incredible.

& thank god for moms! Luckily my brothers will most likely catch mines come in. I'm just afraid they're gonna play with it .. & I wanna be the FIRST to play with MY phone .. ! ):

No problem - it took me two days to figure that one out so don't feel bad.
 
Question for all you 6/10er's out there because I keep seeing various shipping dates. Do you have an expected ship date of 6/30 or one of 7/8?

I recall seeing on the schedules that were posted on here that it said 6/10 would be 7/8. But this gives me hope of joining on the 6/30 bandwagon calling up CSR, but is highly unlikely of course. :(
 
Trice I am in the same boat as you. I am debating going into the verizon store at which I ordered the phone to see what they can do. My opinion of the 2 Droids are this: I would compare the Incredible to a sleek 5 series BMW and the X to a ML Mercedes SUV. The Benz is bigger and will most likely eat a little more gas, but at the end of the day you have a solid sweet ride. I ordered on 6/5..... haven't heard anything with 0 e-mails and no shipping info yet.....Very frustrated with HTC

Yay for you!!!!! Mine is coming tomorrow too - I have managed to conviince myself to go to sleep for 2 reasons......#1 is that I have to be at work early and need to catch up on yesterday's work and try to stay current because I know wed I'll be playing with the phone! and #2 is that I didn't get a whole hell of a lot of sleep last night (;)) and am actually exhausted, excited beyond belief, but my body is screaming at me to sleep. Little does it know it's in for the long haul tomorrow night!

yes sir, 6/4. Still nothing tho, but after perusing this thread i feel no surprise! im glad at least one other 6/4 got shipping info, and if the 5 day delay applies to me, then its the best piece of news ive heard, since it actually gives me (hopefully) a good estimate of its arrival.

For those switching: good luck with the X and i hope the switch goes smoothly!

To those sticking it out in the pit: Keep truckin! i didn't think i could wait a week for the Dinc but its been over 3 and i'm still here! All isn't lost yet!

I told my boss I'd be taking off on Tuesday because my phone is being delivered. She was like, "Well can't you just leave a note on the door?" and I screeeeched!!!! I said, "Oh NOOOOOO! -I need to be there when my baby gets delivered and I wanna play with it all day"

Needless to say, she gave me off ( I think out of pity )

I'm taking a benadryl tonight, see everyone domani. chao famiglia
 
This is what I wanted to do too but after waiting almost four weeks now, I decided to wait till I could go to the store and play with the x.


Hey gang, I'm a 6/5 and I posted earlier that I called Verizon today and mine still had not shipped. No estimate on when...could be tomorrow, or I could be among those delayed an additional five days.

I was out shopping so I stopped in a Verizon store tonight. I think their store staff is still getting up to speed on this Incredible/X swap offer but the guy was pretty helpful. As I waited, he read an email about the X and told me on the spot I could cancel my Incredible order and they would hold an X for me on the 15th.

He also said that Motorola has promised that the X would not be the debacle that the Incredible has been; they can't guarantee there won't be any backorders but the wait time will be NOTHING like that of the Incredible.

Just thought I'd pass that along. I'm going to sleep it on, do a little more homework tomorrow morning, and likely call the store tomorrow to seal the deal and order the X.

I'm a 6/11er and my promised date was 7/12 and shipped by 7/19. Mine is promised shipped date 7/9.

Shipped: N/A

Called *611 CSR stated the 5 day delay, 20% of next bill (since i have already been billed for what i dont have), "promised" ship of 6/30 and upgraded to next day shipping. so HOPEFULLY 7/1 will be received date. BUTTTTTTTTTTTT we will see haha ;)

Ok, so I just got off the phone with Verizon. The call lasted 34+ minutes, and I spent probably seven or eight of those minutes on hold.....

I'm a 6/7 in-store order. Paid on the spot. Was told that my order would ship on 6/28, with overnight shipping and be delivered on 6/29.

On 6/18 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Jane" who assured me that my order was on track for 6/29 delivery and that I would not be affected by the 5-day additional delay affecting some customers.

On 6/24 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Bill" who said, and I quote: "Some customers may experience a delay. Your order looks fine." I pushed him on this, and he confirmed that my phone would be in my hands on 6/29. He promised to send me a text message if anything happened to change that.

On 6/27 I spoke with a Verizon CSR named "Mary" who said that my order was unaffected by the 5-day additional delay and would absolutely positively ship on 6/28, and that I would receive a confirmation text message.

Today is 6/28, or at least it still is in my time zone. I'm set up to receive text messages one way or the other. No message. No e-mail. No nothing.

Another phone call to Verizon, and I'm talking to a friendly but totally clueless CSR who is clearly reading off a sheet, and not very well at that. I listen patiently, then gently ask to speak to a manager. I get put on hold forever, and then the CSR comes back and reads me more stuff. I interrupt once it becomes clear that we are going NOWHERE with this, and that I really truly do need to speak to a manager.

The manager, a somewhat-defensive person by the name of "Sally" gives me an entirely new line: orders with a ship date of up to and including 6/28 may be delayed an additional TEN days.

I responded that I was told my order was unaffected. I was told this three times. She said that I should not have been told this, and that (reading again) "specific customers cannot be identified in advance." It was (ha ha ha) a lousy connection and I was having trouble hearing her, but the text she read also included the words "very sporadic."

I think it's safe to say that this is more than "very sporadic." This is "very widespread." Maybe "sporadic" describes the people who actually have their phones.

This is not the CSRs' problem. This is not the managers' problem. Unfortunately for them, they're the ones who have to deal with the customers, and unfortunately for us, they're the ones who are spreading misinformation and making promises Verizon can't keep. So at this point I am pretty cranky. If I had been told up front that the wait was going to be 31 days instead of 21, I might have made a different decision about my phone... iPhone, perhaps?

This is horrible business practice by Verizon. I realize that some of this is beyond their control, but the way they're handling it is something they CAN control. And they've been awful.

"Sally" and I parted amicably. She helped my account balance a little, and in return I had to promise that that would be the only settlement I would receive about this issue. Fair enough.
 
To all my fellow 6/2 & 6/3r's ..... good luck getting your phones tomorrow. I know I will be watching the driveway hard. Going to force sleep if I can Good night. To the rest good luck getting ur shipping info.

I am considering canceling my order and ordering the phone from wirefly. Does any one not recommend this move?

I thought about the same thing. I looked at their site this evening and it said shipping in one to two weeks there. Guess they are having issues like everyone else now. Hard to say if they will be able to honor that now as they don't have a specific able to ship date now. I wish I had went there to start.

I ordered mine in a local store (6/14) before I had found this forum and saw the delay. The sales dude said I would have it in a week, two weeks tops. He said his took 10 days to arrive. I ran across Wirefly's site that night and they had them in stock. I wish I had went ahead and ordered there but I thought I could wait a week or two tops. Looks like that isn't going to happen.

I went in the local store today and played dumb asking where my phone was. The manager looked it up and found no info but assured me they were shipping faster than what everyone says. I just smiled and said thanks and left. :D He is the same guy I talked to the day the X was announced and I went to the store to inquire about that didn't know about the phone till I went to the Incredible on display, did a Google search and showed him the announcement. :D

I don't think it's fair for me to gripe and moan yet when I know there are many out there that ordered a couple weeks before me still waiting. I am sure in another week though I will be steaming as well. I have to say though I am a bit concerned as others have said that with the increased pressure for production that quality is going to suffer. I think we are seeing some minor issues so far such as wrong or missing chargers and missing batteries. Lord knows what the innards of some of the handsets are going to be like. Till then, I'll be lurking around here. It is part of my daily entertainment routine now.

6/10 here too. When I ordered it in the store, the rep told me it would ship 6/18 (I know - hilarious right??!!). After coming here and realizing just how insane that date sounded, I emailed them and they told me it would ship by 7/8. I went into the store yesterday for something else and asked about my order and the rep told me 7/8 and that it is shipping to my house via UPS (my husband works for them so I guess when we have that discount on our bill, they use them to ship). I have used every ounce of self control I have to not call the CSRs but I still call *611 and see if I get a message about a pending activation. I know its early but I keep holding out this glimmer of hope that it will miraculously appear! I even walk around with my empty case and pretend to talk into it. Yeah - I have officially gone crazy and I still have over a week. :)

Who received - received - their Inc today? If you did, when did you place your order?
ordered 6/2 ship by 6/23, actual ship 6/24 overnight, received 6/25

(cancelled the Incredible order this morning).

ok NOW I am REALLY PISSED! I got my Phone this evening after picking it up at the FedEx Depot at Dulles Airport... I can't activate it till tommorow morning at the Verizon store because they have jacked up my account so bad no one can help me but the store manager.... I decide to open the phone put the battery in and charge it up so I can hit the Vz store in the morning... the ****ING BATTERY IS MISSING. Thats right... NO BATTERY!

I call Verizon and NO ANSWER..... This is BILL SHIT.... The store better have a battery!
