Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

I started a thread over at the X ally to see how many have switched over to the X and why, so we should have some good info in a couple of days. I figured what the hell I got till next month before I see my phone so we might as well make it interesting!!!
One already said that he got the inc and returned it because of a non responsive touchscreen and horrible battery life and he's now waiting for the X.

I ordered my phone at a Verizon store on 6/2.
promise ship by date of 6/23. Shipped 6/24, recd 6/28.
Still setting my layout and getting used to it.
To all still waiting, I feel your pain, I went 26 days in waiting.
It is still worth it. I have enjoyed the camaraderie and seeing the kitten pics and other humorous posts here.
See you all in the other forums. Hang in there...
 
Just saw on another forum that a 6/7 order received a shipping notification.
The lucky SOB (just kidding) lives in NE Pa.
It seems like it's a total crapshoot but maybe there is some hope.
 
Ordered my phone at a Verizon store on 6/7 and was told the ship date would be 6/25. Called customer service yesterday and was told ship date would be today 6/29. Called customer service today and was told ship date would be later this week or early next week - i.e no specific date. This is getting very frustrating. Good luck to all.

PS - I am switching from Blackberry Curve to the Inc - its just taking a while to get there.

Thanks for the pep talk, Ed! I think we needed it! Going into my fourth week of waiting I was wondering if it was even worth all the bother! I'll take your word for it as well as the others who have received their phones and try to patiently wait my turn! :)
 
Just got att bundle info. will save me 100 bucks a month if I switch all my lines. well not really on just my phones. but with wireless phones, dsl, and landlines combined. Hard to pull the trigger.
 
6/4 order here.

I live in the Northest. got my shipping confirmation email this morning...shipping out from Coatesville, Pa.

They gave me a 7/1 delivery date.

Congratulations.....mine is still stuck in Memphis as it was on Sunday....:eek:...just hoping something is wrong with their system as they say it is still going to deliver tomorrow!
 
I just spoke to Elana Chatman, from the Office of the President of Executive Relations (VZW). Verizon is experiencing delays in filling orders that began about the 1st of June. She does not know the exact nature of the delays (screens, late shipments from overseas, etc)- that is not common knowledge within the corporation. She stated that if there are no further delays, most people over the next 3-4 weeks should expect to wait an additional few days (being told 5-10 now, but trying to err on the side of PR caution). The problem should resolve itself sometime in July. She said you can not accurately determine when you will get yours based on someone else's shipment- phones are being shipped from the south to cover northeast orders, west phones are going to the midwest, etc- in order to 'even out' the back log of shipments. It will be impossible to gauge when you should get your notice, any closer than 2-3 days.

I suggested to her that she inform customers directly (email) of the delays, rather than wait for angry CSR calls asking about shipments. She agreed and said she would suggest it in their next meeting. I believe she was sincere in that they were doing everything they could to get people their phones as soon as they could. She said that if your date passes by more than 3 days, by all means- call. They can not individually trace every late order, but if your order seems to be 'extra' late- they are willing to go a little extra to send you a phone- from corporate, if they have to.

When was your ordered date? 6/2
When was your will ship by date? 6/23
This will help us all a lot, instead of just blasting customer service all day.
What helps us is VENTING about date ordered/date received differences, and EVERYTHING that goes along with it.

I think that blasting customer service is very much keeping in line with the title of this thread. Order dates and ship dates have proven to be exercises in complete futility. So people vent to illustrate how and why these Verizon estimates are stuffed full of wild Blueberry muffins and not worth the powder to blow them to hell.

1. Customer service has nothing to do with the delays. They're doing their job. I'd be mad at Samsung or HTC, if I'm going to be mad at someone.

2. I agree we're frustrated (my ship date was supposed to be today, ordered 6/8), but it seems there is a flood of people who are giving order dates and promise dates, and recounting customer service chats of what they're told, but I haven't seen anyone in about 15 pages who actually has received the phone. I was just asking for that important piece of information.
Well then you haven't read close to 15 pages of this thread then have you?:rolleyes:
3. Seeing someone post: ordered 6/4, promised 6/24, arrived today. THAT would be most helpful.

4. Going back to earlier pages doesn't do much good, since it seems clear big delays have started in the last two weeks or so.
But the earlier posts touch on that as well, also when it started happening and the likely reason.
Don't be coming in here all high and mighty telling us who have suffered/is suffering together how we should be posting and what we should/shouldn't be saying. Many of us have spent weeks in here giving support, shoulders to cry on, and sharing csr info. This is how we coop.
. I'll tell you the truth I can handle the wait but if I get my phone after waiting so long that all my hair has fallen out and I'm missing something in the box I WILL GO POSTAL ON SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

Let us not fall victim to the oldest battle tactic there is..."Divide and Conquer". Petty bickering amonst ourselves only serves the objectives of the opponent. Let's not get distracted by the "let's stick to the spirit of this thread vs. don't tell me what to do" squabbles.

take what is useful to you out of these posts and be thankful people are willing to share...I think for the most part people are sharing because they want to help others as well as get some solace in seeing that they are not alone in the Droid wilderness.

remember, if you order a car and the thing takes forever to get to the dealer and when it does, it's broken...who do you bitch to? the dealer, of course, not the Corporate headquarters. Verizon is the dealer here, they have an obligation to treat us with respect and dignity, give us some straight answers and STOP pointing fingers at everyone else in this mess.

It seems that the pattern through most of our posts has gone from a 21 day wait to a 25-26 day wait before shipping. So if that holds steady then perhaps I and my fellow 6/7'ers will get some shipping notification around Friday... which kinda sucks because it's a holiday weekend and of course we would all like to have our new phones by then... but then this puts me back at my original thought that most likely we will not see shipments until sometime next week. :( So I'm gonna hunker back down and settle in for more of our daily entertainment. I'm gonna go get some popcorn!! :D

Ok wolfman...I did not mean to offend you. Yes we are all very frustrated so we come here and vent to each other. My ship date was 5 days ago, and still has not shipped...on top of the fact that my original order was may 24th and 2 days after placing it, it got cancelled somehow and i did not find out until 12 days later when calling to check shipping status...so i have been waiting a hell of a long time and it gets pretty aggravating when CSR's give you every excuse under the sun and a different answer every time you talk to them. We know that this problem lies deeper than verizon...all the way down to samsung and their stupid screens. You haven't seen any phones received because their has been very few in the last 2 weeks. The week before last, people were at least receiving their phones by the "ship by date". Last week all the notifications suddenly came to a halt. We would love to post our received dates, but we don't have them yet...Trust me, when someone gets a notification, the first thing they do is get on this thread to let their beloved hostages know about it. So take what it here and use it however you may need. I too would like to scroll through this thread and see notification upon notification just so i know that my order had not been forgotten and we are left here to rot. Sorry for the sarcastic remark previous, but i think this is one of the only places we can come to vent cause our husbands (wives) are getting sick of hearing us bitch about our phones, and these are the only people who understand...Dincs Anonymous
