System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

First off that is 9MB larger then the one that was yesterdays update. At least that i can remember. I thought yesterdays was 21.43 MB. Dont quote me on that.

Second, I just tried and it didnt allow me to update. Saying my system was already up to date and nothing is available.

So either A.) its not rolled out to me just yet or B.) It is the same update.

But i tried.

i just had a co-worker check.
he has the update installed from yesterday, i don't.

the update is available to me, while it isn't available to him. so, if you've already updated, you won't get this one.

After reading your posts around the forums, I don't think you're ever going to update. LOL! :p

Can anyone confirm that the update is available again? I am in central PA and have not been prompted or cannot manually request it.

yes, the update is available again. if you already have it (from yesterday), you can't get it again. if you didn't update previously, then maybe it hasn't rolled out to you yet.

yeah, you're right haha. i have absolutely no issues with my phone so no reason to update and kill a few features due to them patching some security hole.

I think I will let my phone charge for a few minutes and then give the update a go.

Were do you see that & or how do you get there to find that information?

It's visible as an item (Contact DB I think) on the App Management page. If you didn't look before the update you won't know how much it went down, but you can see the current size.

I successfully upgraded to 1.47.651.1 (30.15 MB) on my replacement EVO (rev 3) after my original EVO (rev 2) was bricked by yesterday's update. So far so good.

Alright, I can get into the bootloader, so how can I get this update manually installed? The phone's already going back so I might as well try to fix it or brick it.

Successfully installed the new update. Broke all widgets but thats a simple enough fix. About 90 seconds to download and about 8 or 9 minutes to install and get back up and running.

Austin, TX. Had to manually check for the update. Never received a single update notification.

for 9mb+, would be nice if there was a changelog. because surely it didn't take 9mb of code to keep phones from checking/downloading the same update a second time.

Man....this Really sucks....
My Evo was bricked yesterday after i installed the update... i believe i was the first one on this forum to report a bricked evo...its Great to see sprint and HTC fixed the update but now i gota wait till radioshack gets more units in so i can go back to my normal life...right now im running on a blackberry tour and well....im miserable with it..i wonder what was added to the update that now makes it 30MBs instead of yesterdays 21mbs...perhaps they added coding that will notify the phone that it already has the update to prevent a 2nd update from re-occuring

Just finished installing the update in Charlotte, NC. Took 5-10 minutes over wireless.

--Prompt for 2nd download: no
--manual check for update: your phone is up to date
--Wireless N Router: still working fine
--Widgets: all working except Engadget. Removed/Reloaded and working
--Android Wallpapers: gone (re-adding from this thread...thanks guys!)
--Default android launcher: gone
--Live Wallpaper (floating leaves) works much more smoothly
--all apps open faster
--Speed Test
(over home wifi): [before update 5740kbps down/562kbps up] [after update: 10262kbps down/559kbps up]
(over 3g): [before update 651kbps down/651kbps up] [after update: 370kbps down/124kbps up]
--edge touchscreen issue: now i can use it on the desk
--screen brightness: screen is now brighter than before, both set to "auto"...possibly a change in the sensitivity?
--Phone: not bricked

consider it a success.

I downloaded the update yesterday on my new Evo after they bricked my previous one, just checked the update now for the hell of it and said there is no update available im at the most current so it seems they fixed the issue.

whatever the update from yesterday did do it seemed to dramatically improve my battery life today

unplugged at 7:50AM, it is now 4:35PM and it is between 70 and 80% (just dropped from 8 bars) - normal day at work - some FB browsing, some internet browsing, read some tweets, and just had a 20 minute conversation

maybe I'm crazy but it seemed to help big time today
