System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Anybody notice that the stock battery icon doesn't turn amber when it drops to 29% and below? I use the app "Battery Indicator" and I see when I drop to 29% or below in the battery, Battery Indicator turns amber, but the stock icon does not.

In playing with my not-entirely-bricked phone, I tried to run the phone back to 1.32.651.6 via an ruu and it failed because it noted that my phone was currently at 1.47.651.1. So, I'm thinking there's a chance this can be salvaged. Mine mucked up before I had a chance to screw it up with the second update.

My hope/dream is that since I can get to the bootloader, I should be able to get this wiped and just start over.

While im sure HTC knew this update would probaby brick lets say 1% of the phones out there due to bad lines of code here and there im sure they did not expect this disaster or semi disaster as Sprint pulled its head from its arse and pulled there update.

But there first update gets the FAIL. Ide say second time is a charm but it may brick your phone :D

The update includes:

-Improvements to Wi-Fi performance
-Exchange Active Sync improvements which include a fix to issue including new account set up, PIN policy usage, and Exchange Server 2010 Calendar Sync
-Addresses Social Networking Sync issue with Facebook application which can improve battery performance

And it is now being removed because it's been bricking people's phones.

[got my info from androidpolice.com btw]

looks like the update is not available anymore, when i click on look for update, it says there's none to be found so i called my sprint store and they said sprint may have taken it down to investigate.

just checked again.still not back up. maybe 2nd time's a charm? heh

It looks like the fast dropping battery when you first unplug was not fixed for me. After only 20 minutes, I am down to 92% with ZERO use.

41% cell standby
38% phone idle
14% wifi
7% android system

I see some operational performance improvements, most noticeably almost 0 lag now. Battery performance still the same. I don't expect to see battery improvement until Froyo where it's designed to make the processor work more efficiently therefore consuming less battery.

Here are the Evo Stock 2.1 Launcher wallpapers that were removed with the update

I'm noticing better wifi performance but really haven't noticed much else since the update. Everything seems to be working fine. I don't know that I am seeing any improvements to battery life (if anything, maybe a little less but haven't had time to really focus on it yet). Seems to be a little smoother in certain aspects. We'll see.

Is it me or does GTalk constantly start up on its own. I have set it to not sign me in auto, and have signed out. a few min later check running services and it is running.

Waited to get home and use wifi before I updated... caused me to miss it. So far, nothing as of yet.

Since I updated (no problems, btw... ran smoothly) I've been having a weird issue when I text. Let me see if I can explain this.

If I send a text to someone, and then hit the "back" button to return to my text message inbox, and THEN quickly try to open up a different thread other than the one I was just in... it opens the WRONG thread 95% of the time.

This isn't a simple case of hitting the wrong spot on the screen. I can try to open the very very first thread, and sometimes it will open one on the next "page" (as in, I would have needed to scroll down even just to SEE the one it opened) instead.

It's happening pretty consistently and I have nearly texted the wrong person multiple times already. I used to have this problem on my Hero and it was one of maaany reasons I returned it.

Anyone else having this same problem?

The update causes Unrevoked to not work, is that correct? If that is the case, I might just not install this thing even when they do fix the bricking issue.

I bought my EVO 4G on JUNE 4. No root, running stock entire time.

This last Saturday, it started restarting on it's own - it seemed like when it was stuggling to find a 3G signal. (WiFi turned off). When it did restart, the battery felt rather hot.

Several times I'd shut it down, take battery out, and restart. It would still do it at random times. Probably 6-8 times each day until this latest software release.

I hadn't added a new app in at least 2 days, but, went ahead and uninstalled recent apps and upgrades just to make sure. Same problem continued.

Now, with this update, things are running smooth. No more restarts, no hot battery.

We have a wireless-N router at work, but, the EVO 4G is unable to obtain an IP address from it. The phone continues non-stop to obtain an IP address, but no luck. I'm still able to connect to wireless-G router at home. I need to get into that office and reset the router and see what happens.

What concerns me, however, is the fact my phone worked great for 3 weeks, then, all of a sudden, it starts restarting (again, pre-yesterday's update). Granted, the update seems to have fixed the problem for now. But I would think if it's a hardware problem, it either fails early, or much later down the road. And if it was a software problem, why wouldn't it appear early as well? Why 3 weeks down the road, after everything was working fine, would it start restarting itself? The battery had never felt hot before this restarting issue.

Anyway, happy now. Got the update, RockPlayer Beta - life is good. Now if I wasn't only moving out of a soon to be 4G area...

Unplugged my phone at 6am this morning and am at 96 % battery right now. I haven't used the phone and it has been in sleep mode. It would have been somewhere in the seventy percent range by now. So the upgrade did help some.

my N router still doesnt connect with wi-fi. I've seen a few people with the same issue, do you know if there was a fix? My head is starting to hurt with all these bricks.
