System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Yup the new update installs just fine. Rebooted on its own a couple times when installing and when its done it says it was successful.
My phone feels much faster.
The only thing that was kind of annoying was some of my widgets were not on my home screen, but I had no problem replacing them from my widget list.
But wow it does feel much smoother.
 
I downloaded the update yesterday sucessfully only to find that I'm not able to upload videos to Youtube ex: I tried my 202MB video and it tells me it can't upload videos larger than 1GB. I think my EVO was semi-bricked (Meaning phone works but features are broken. However a 14MB video will upload with no problems.

Also Battery Life my @!# I had 12-18 hours before the update and today lasted about 8 hours. I didn't change anything much after the update. Of course I later found out Slacker kept my phone from sleeping so the real test will have to come tomorrow.

The update did upgrade Qik to the new version and disabled ShootMe which really P'ed me off.

I have Music app running on the background , facebook & myspace and browsing like crazy along with my screen full bright and my battery its lasting not draining at all And phone dont get that hot as when before the update i use to run all the same apps at the same time phones back will get a lil hot with in the first 3-5 minutes and battery will drain really quick and with in 20-30 mins of nonestop usage my phone battery be at 30-20 percent! and now ive been running more than few hours and battery still green as a green go light!

What did this update fix? anyone know if it had something to do with the battery cuz i like how on mine it fix that little problem!
I just updated today by the way ive been hearing about ppl getting there phones bricked with the update
 
My phone is running way faster and smoother also!
And for those that keeps trying to update and tells you ...your up to date it kept telling me the same thing also, so i repeatably kept searching for updates and kept saying i was up to date.....till i updated my profile then kept looking for the update and what do you know it finally pushed it to my phone!
So far my phone is so much better then before the update =)))))
 
Just did mine, quick and no problems. Wow, phone does move noticeably faster now. Vibrate, power control, htc battery widget all work fine. Had to reload some widgets, but that was it.
Checked manually, no update to install.
Will update on batter life tomorrow after I see how it goes.
BTW, anybody else notice what seemed to be a Droid Eris glowing under the green arrows thingy during the second half of the update?
 
So; I see I have the update ready for install, do I need to be worried? It didn't go so well for me the first go around :( any input would me much appreciated... Thanks
 
Mine never came up with an advertisement for the update, so I checked manually about 15 minutes ago and it was available. Ran the update via wifi only, took 10 minutes total to come back up and it installed successfully. Didn't lose any shortcuts or widgets at all, only difference I've noticed so far is no more blurry thumbnails in the gallery.
 
Could the software update possibly have fixed the auto gsm prl issue where the phone searches for a gsm signal, I used to change it everytime i turned my phone on by typing in *#*#4636#*#* and then switching to auto cdma... idk if it helped my battery or not but I did it anyways. Now after the update I did it and the phone was EXTREMELY slow... like it brought me back to the days with my hero when it was acting up, I turned the phone off took the battery out turned it back on and it was fast again, then at the end of the day tried it again and the phone was very very slow again, i turned the phone off and back on and it was fine?

Install was a breeze. Replaced my Voicemail icon ...

Haven't noticed anything else different.

Out of curiosity I went to see if I could download the update again (by clicking Check Now). It appears I can. Sorry, but I won't be testing that out.
 
finally received my second notification just now for the update. yesterday i was busy and declined it.

so i accepted it and chose wifi only... then a message came up, no new software found.

so i reboot the phone and manually check for htc software, it finds it. i chose the to all methods wifi,4g mobile network. and then the update screen just closes again and nothing happens.

recheck again, found it, and download began. wifi download took about 1 minute. i'm installing as i type... *crosses fingers*

success... took a few reboots for everything to work smooth tho.

i don't think so, this is exactly what happens to my phone when i try that. this is before the update. i am installing the update as i type. i will not try this after its updated. i see no point. that trick was from the hero anyway. i saw no battery improvements by doing that, just a messed up phone.

i would just leave that alone if i were you.
