System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Ok so finally got the update. It did absolutely nothing for wifi reception as i had one bar in the master bedroom before and after.

Ok, thanks.

I guess I don't see the need for doing that. No reason to have something else running when I can just look to see how many bars out of 10 I have.. ha.

No worries. I personally prefer having the percentages because even with the 10 bars, that gives you increments of 10%, so if I'm down to the last 10%, I want to have an idea of how long the phone will last until I power it'll be completely dead by single percentage points.

Updated without a problem. I don't feel any difference in performance. My Evo was already fast before and no problem with Wifi either. I don't really see any benefit other than the patch in the security hole that makes us lose root.

No problems with the update...

But the Wi-Fi fix? Pfffffff. As if. I STILL get no bars showing in my room, and 1-2 bars standing in front of the Wi-Fi router in my house. Still don't work right... total bull. I don't think the update actually did anything except remove FURTHER things from our phone (Stock Android wall papers).

So I got the new update, it downloaded just fine, everything seemed to go off without a hitch until.... I rebooted it later on this evening. First it was no longer sending MMS messages - it will receive but fails every time I try to send. Next was the camera - worked fine until the reboot - after: it looks like it's starting up for a second or two only to crash back out to the home screen... anyone else having this problem?

I think it's just the phone playing tricks with. Does the internet go fast, though?

I installed the update on mine and my wife's phone, no problems. However, I don't see where people are noticing an increase in battery life. I charged mine last night and unplugged it as soon as it reached 100%. After about a minute of use, it dropped to 99% and then down to 94% after about 3-5 minutes.

Updated last night and have not used the phone much since then but when I got up this morning I noticed that my battery was still at 89%

cell standby 48%
phone idle 48%
Android system 4%

up time 14:16:50
awake time 22:10

Before update battery would drain 30% at least overnight.

you do realize that 2 people just reported issues after trying this method right?

i have a release day version 2 phone. i was like the 5th guy at my store that morning that got one. i've been reading about this method since that day. this fix has not helped my phone at all. it slowed it down and after some network switches would no longer function. and it did not improve any battery life.

it may have not done anything to yours, but it did to mine. and it definitely did not make anything better, which many have reported.

oh and i could recreate this many times over. even after pulling out the battery and then applying again.

my problem with this method is it only shows gsm after the force close. this is when everything works strange. and even after doing this and then going back in to recheck, after the force close it still says gsm. i suspect there is a glitch when reading the radio band from the menu key.

i've tried it many times and read about how to do it from many people. it does nothing for me. besides my battery is good :)

i also thought it was reported that updating your prl to the latest takes care of the issue anyway.

no issues here after doing it
and i'm using a non sprint prl btw

how are you guys seeing an exact % of battery left?

I only know how to go to Settings>About Phone>Battery and then I see how many bars it has out of 10

currently at 4 bars, been off the charger for over 14 hours with normal use, I'm excited!

Download a battery percentage app from the app market. The one I was using was made to drain the least amount of battery, while still being able to show up on the status bar. The one I was using is called batteryminder (I think. It's something like that, but it says in the description that it doesn't drain the battery like other apps). Worked perfect on my EVO...until I downloaded the software update and it bricked!...LOL.

the phone has this feature built in, you just gotta know how to get to it.
on your dialer press
*#*#4636#*#*
then hit battery information

I didn't update when it was first released because of all the problems, then I get a second pop up the next day and the file was ~30MB, not 21.43MB, is this a fixed update so it doesn't brick anyones phone?

Surprise that HTC did'nt add the wallpapers that came up missing, thought they would included that with the new revise update. So if i download those wallpapers from acouple of pages ago, those will go right to my Home Wallpaper page?

Did the update yesterday. I noticed a drastic improvement in battery life. However, i noticed no improvement in Wi-Fi strength. I have a G router, so perhaps only N routers are noticing a signal difference.

I am extremely happy with the battery performance today. Hope it continues.
