System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Has anyone else Camera stopped working?

Edit:I guess others don't either =/

Is there a fix yet?

I just noticed my camera AND camcorder cannot focus and is VERY grainy. This was working fine prior to me updating last night. Grrr!

well i just found about the upgrade and have not installed it yet. i will when i get home. BUT.... first.. i will do a speed test with wifi on and 4g off before and after i update and let you know what i find out,

Just updated on non-rooted v0002. Went super-fast in comparison to some. Maybe 4-5 minutes for everything.

I don't think it made disabling the Sense UI impossible like some people are saying. In fact, as soon as my phone was going back to the home screen it asked me if I wanted to use HTC Sense (which I had voluntarily set as the default recently) or Launcher Pro (which I downloaded but decided I liked having my HTC widgets over being able to have my home screen in landscape :/)

So, how do we take screen shots now that ShootMe is obsolete?

it's going to prompt you to pick a launcher if you have another launcher installed, such as LauncherPro or ADW. you cannot kill off and run stock launcher, though.

Ok, i download this into the phone, and not sure where they went, not seeing the above photos. I check the HTC Wallpaper page nothing there. Also checking the my Manage application page, wonder what this would be titled?

You have to unzip the file and copy them over to your sdcard in whatever directory you want. You will select "gallery" from your wallpaper options.

Just updated my phone and none of the Navigation apps work. Sprint Nav, Navigator or the Navi. It makes my phone reset if I select them. Help!!!!

Update for those of you that experienced your phone getting "bricked" because of the software update.

Sprint Tech Support told me that there are a bunch of Sprint locations that were provided EVO's by HTC directly, specifically to replace phones that got bricked due to the update. The software error was HTC's fault, apparently.

Anyhow, I was told by tech support that regardless of where you purchased your phone, Sprint stores would be able to replace your phone for you.
WARNING FOR THOSE THAT BOUGHT FROM BEST BUY - Unfortunately, I chose not to exchange my phone at the Sprint store because according to a few Best Buy Mobile locations I spoke to, the serial numbers on the phone have to match, in order to do an exchange. Once they don't match, the 30 day return policy is no longer valid. SO...In my case, I'm just going to wait for the White EVO pre-order I placed to come in next week.

Too bad. I thought I'd have a replacement phone, but oh well.

Before update my battery sucked (5hrs on very light use, mainly background syncs on email, weather, FB) even after battery cycling. Now battery lasted good 8 hrs on medium use. Who knows why...I just hope it continues or gets better.

Just updated. Took about 10-15 minutes. I had to fix 2 apps and 3 widgets. The only issue I'm having right now is the Market isn't working. Wife's phone (she didn't update yet) has no issues with the Market.

I got about an extra 1.5 hours of battery. I still can't get through a work day yet but I think its due to very low sprint signal at my desk at work. A desktop charger / dock will solve this issue with a quickness.

I bit the bullet and updated tonight. Had to replace a couple of widgets like most others, but no biggie. I did notice my phone felt warmer (39 C) after, but I updated profile and prl and it seems to be cooler now. Google Talk does keep restarting now, though. Any fix for that? And my battery is draining seemingly a little faster, but we'll see how it goes after a full charge. Fingers and toes crossed, because my battery life was awesome before.

Did one update earlier today...just did the software update. Just checking all apps and widgets...no issues. Had been getting about 10-12 hours on my normal usage...will report back tomorrow evening with any changes...

Just got my update this morning.
It was nearly 30MB. Anyone else have a file bigger than the one listed on the Thread?
Have not seen much change yet.
Kinda sucks the Wallpapers were removed.

I haven't read the entire thread, so sorry if this is already asked and answered, but I am trying to update my EVO (rooted), and when I tell it to check for a HTC System update, it just spins and spins and spins saying Checking. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Nothing but good luck with the update on my Evo - HTC seemed to really trim back how much memory Sense was eating up. I now have 149MB free even with other apps running, and the phone appears snappier because of it. (When I got to about 40-50MB of memory free prior to the update, the phone noticeably slowed down).

Although, it's still no Froyo update. :(

I *think* Sprint can tell you're rooted. It's possible if their servers detect that they won't push the update to you.

Haha yeah. I've been with Sprint for less than 2 weeks now, so they promptly took care of me since I was still in the 30 day window :D. I don't know if I'll regret not waiting for the white EVO or not, but so far I'm happy with it all. This bad update thing still has me a little worried about future updates though. Never had something like that happen to me before.
I'm on my week one with Sprint and I am totally getting the run around with them. I might have to go back to Verizon. :(

I am planning not to update to the new version yet. I have no issues with the software it is currently running on and I really don't want to lose the android wallpapers or the shoot me app.Hopefully I can run on this until 2.2 is released. Any one else planning to hold off on updating?

Did the upgrade about 2hrs ago. Downloaded really fast using wifi. I recommend this unless you are on 4g. Really smooth download. After downloading everything went smooth. Ran the install which only took about 10 mins. After phone turned back on everything was good except for the weather channel widget which I just re inserted. Everything else was perfect. I guess we will see tomorrow how long my battery lasts. But other than that no problems with update.

My phone is running great, I'm not updating either...

Hardware Version 0003 here. Manually installed the update ONCE today and everything seemed fine, initially. However, I later noticed that Wi-Fi and 4G were both "Unable to Start" or "Failed". Many service calls and a trip to the Sprint Service Center later, the phone has been hard reset but still no Wi-Fi or 4G. Only recourse now is to go back to Sprint Corporate (from whom I bought the phone) to see what they can offer. Unfortunately, they closed at 5pm today. Pretty frustrating... this has been my first real problem with the Evo.

My update went fine other than needing to delete and re-add my widgets. My problem is since the update I'm unable to pass traffic on WiFi. I can associate with the AP, authenticate, get an IP address via DHCP but no traffic passes through the network. I've deleted and recreated the credentials for the wireless network (WPA2-PSK) but that didn't help. Anybody else seeing this?

Same problem with mine. The wifi can't even obtain IP and is unsuccessful. Have you guys made any progress?

* EDIT
So i messed around with my wifi security and changed it from wpa-psk to wpa-psk and wpa2-psk and now i can connect and wifi works. Not sure what happened but im happy
