System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Is there any way to undo the install? if i download and run one of the stock roms will that take me back the way my phone was before the update?

I'd think that if you do a "hard reset" it'll remove the software updates, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd call Sprint Tech Support to find out.

Update has extended my battery life...had no issues with any programs...battery life probably increased at least 50%...still have 30% available and I took it off charge 18 hours ago...before the update would have had to be on charger several hours ago.

After living with the update for a few days, I can officially declare that my battery life has significantly improved as well. It was do-able before, but much better now.:)YAY!

Can ANYONE inform me as to how to re install launcher 2.1? Or tell me how to change icons using something other than default launcher. Thanks!
you can try launcher pro thats the easiest way to get somewhat of the original back, since launcher pro is still in beta.

what do we do about gtalk process keep showing up under "running services"? Is that going to drain the battery now?

Alright.. I have two concerns, (well, one concern and one question) that no one seems to have touched, and it's baffling my I'm the only one to wonder this..

1. Someone around page 16 or so mentioned he/she did the update, and while overall happy, he noted that the wifi speed increased, HOWEVER the 3G speed decreased (cut in half both download and uploade!!!) Am I the only one who cares about that? I don't want to update to a slower 3G speed. I live in Az where there is NO 4g, so 3G and my wifi are the only connectivity choices, and with a majority of the USA being like that, I can't believe no one has questioned him, or posted that their speeds are at LEAST as good as they were for 3g, if not better...???

2. Why - oh WHY - did they remove wallpapers? It's dumb - I don't even currently USE the ones mentioned - But I am irked at the thought of them removing them - without even a trace as to WHY. Sure, it may not be the most fundamental worry or care - But is no one else curious about why they'd remove wallpapers, something incredibly harmless....

On the bright side..

At least HTC/Sprint doesn't run like console system companies.. I mean, could you imagine a "forced" update? We should be happy we have the OPTION to update or not.. For me, I choose NOT, not until someone(s) verify 3g speeds don't totally suck now, lol.. I mean, if 4g were here, I'd not care what my 3g speed was, hehe, but till that day comes, however long and distant away, I don't want any part of a 3g SLOWDOWN, not now that I have this wicked fast and cool Evo :)

Is there a manual download for this update?

I have two EVOs, one of them (never modified, never rooted) does not find updates even during a manual check. It still occasionally has the sd card permission issue because it did not even get the .1 to .6 update on June 5.

The battery life has definitely improved. I have been going 17 hours with moderate use and I still have 30% remaining.

The update made it a little bit snappier to, less lag.

Is there a way to find out if you are using wifi n? My wifi speeds don't have a drastic change.

33 hours since last charge with 6% remaining
used phone for 2hours 14min
used internet(using internet for 2-3 minutes here and there as a reference tool and watching a little of ESPN vids) and apps occasionally

Before the update I could only get 18-24 hours if I went into airplane mode for 8 hours of my work day. I'm very happy now as I was considering the extended battery. I work 24-30 hours straight (medical field) occasionally and since I'm constantly moving around cant use a charger. Very happy with this update. I still might get the extended battery though.

I know when this update went out people said that it fixed some things like "manage applications' load time" and "phone won't turn on right after power down". It fixed those for me too, however they seem to have reappeared. Has anyone else had this happen?

I kind of think the battery has improved also. I didn't even realize the Android wallpapers were gone. I have lots of other ones but still I don't know why they got rid of them. I love this phone..

OK, I've been playing with the update for two days. I can't find anything missing or broken. Battery life much better. It's interesting that my 4G download speed bumped up by .5 Mbps. I thought is was a coincidence but it's been holding over two day and several tests.

Updated to 1.47 and Now unrevoked root say it is done but not really rooted and now wifi tether will not work ( unable to start tethering) Not rooted....HELP anyone---Unrevoked people HELP!!

My Swype quit working also. Someone told me it was a beta meaning trial and that it would eventually stop working.I didn't know I could log back into the beta site and sent myself the download link again. I did that and I just had to uninstall and reinstall and mine is working again. I am so glad!

I had Swype (v.7625) installed pre-update and it's still working. Maybe try re-installing Swype?

i just realized that today too

It seems that many people have better battery life after updating. For me it has been the opposite... Before the update, I would fully charge the phone before I sleep, and it would lose only about 10% battery overnight. Now after the update, I lose about 30%, sometimes more than that. There's even a time where I had to charge my Evo twice in one day. I never had to to do that before this update.

In the battery use menu, it says that Cell Standby uses about 48% and Phone Idle uses 47%, while Android System uses 3%. I remember Android system using most of the battery before the update, while Cell Standby and Phone Idle used about less than 10% combined. Does anyone know what's causing problem or possibly a remedy?

Hey all,

I saw an update went out last week, and it was pulled but I wasn't sure if they ever redistributed the update? I don't think my phone was ever updated (and it doesn't say there is an update available... I checked manually in System Update), but I was looking forward to some of the supposed benefits of the update.

Thanks

They did redistribute it. Did you check the HTC update option? That's where it was when I checked, not in firmware update. I believe the version # after the OTA is 1.47.651.1 so check that too.

I rooted my phone but I reset it back to factory would that have something to do with it? My software version is 1.32.651.1 (build number 1.32.651.1 CL171253 test-keys). I am still new to Android lol.

Just installed the update without problems. 2 widgets from third parties did not come back on screen, but I simply re-added them (BatteryLife and B&B Brightness Control). Took 8 minutes to perform the update after download.

That's still the old one. New one is 1.47.651.1

I'm not sure how to update it 'cause it says there is none available. Would I have to reset my phone somehow?
Not sure being that you were rooted and then reverted back. Maybe someone with more knowledge of rooting could help you out.
