Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Doubt it. We've been blatantly lied to since we ordered (was told the phone would ship 6/10)

You need to call VCS tomorrow and raise all kind of hell. The number is 1.800.922.0204 and yes I have called so much I've memorized it. One day we'll all look back at this and laugh, but till that day this S**T aint funny.

Eh...I was aware that there was a 2+ week wait (at the time), but the CS rep claimed that it would ship by 6/10. Shouldn't have believed him and gone ahead and ordered online so they would only be holding $200 hostage rather than $300.

It's actually the hubby's phone so I'm not super concerned about it getting here...He's still clinging onto the hope that I'm gonna let him keep his iPhone.

Plus...I'm horrible at raising hell. I just get pissed off and blurt out a few expletives and hang up!

I got rid of my iPhone and my wifes for these phones, she gave up a week ago and went back to ATT for the iPhone 4. The only good thing is that she has her phone and it doen't work because of her death grip so she's taking it back and getting a Droid X now. So neither of us are gonna get a new phone anytime soon.

Was it a month and a half ago that I fought to keep this thread stuck? I can't remember. In any event, the agreement I made with one of the mods, who wanted to unstick it, was that it would be stuck until about July, when theoretically the Dinc would be more available. It didn't happen.

The situation has changed drastically regarding the Dinc's delivery date. We know that it has worsened because of the lack of supply of Amoled screens and doesn't look to improve anytime soon unless they change the screen type. Therefore, we know things are bad and keeping this stuck won't make things any better.

I fully expect this thread to stay alive for a long time, and therefore easy to find. However, please subscribe to this thread so you won't lose it.


Ok... here's to a quick upgrade!

I seem to have a discrepancy on my actual order number. My online order resulted in an email confirmation with a 10 digit order number, but my "sorry we're backordered, but here's 25 bucks" email received today, lists a 7 digit order number.

What's up with this? Which one is correct?
I sent an email to VZW and have yet to hear back, but I want to know which one everyone else got.

Sweet - I just got the letter from Verizon, and it had my location number and order number on it that let me do the "FedEx Trick". So even though I have not gotten the shipping e-mail, I am seeing a tracking number come up in Fedex. (To do the fedex trick - go to track by reference # and enter your location code_order number and enough zeros after the "_" and before the order number to make it 9 digits after the underscore)

From what I have seen from earlier in this thread the order number on the "I'm sorry" e-mail is your *actual* order number in the Verizon system. Not the one you get with your Internet order e-mail (Makes no sense, I know). You can use the order number in the VZW e-mail in combination with the location code to see if they have already shipped your phone and you just haven't gotten the tracking e-mail yet. (Worked for me! Woot!)

What a confusing system. I know that they are dealing with 92 million customers, but talk about complicated. And the fedex trick; that took me three tries to get it right. Must be tired. Enough obsessing over the DI. Off to bed.
 
IT NEVER ENDS! I received my ship date today from Verizon at the same time I received an email from another company stating another item I ordered is back ordered. I can't say i'm stressing much about the other order though, knowing my phone is coming soon.
 
The one I spoke to [CSR] said she's been getting cursed out ever since the email went out.

Wow. Can't believe some people would call to complain about being informed of a delay. I guess you can't keep everyone happy no matter what you do. I would have appreciated a 'heads-up' rather than have to call in to find out where my phone was...:(
 
Good morning everyone! Today is a new day and hopefully full of some shipping notifications. Good to see that Verizon is actually stepping up and contacting people saying there is a delay and giving out a $25 gift card...not too sure if that's a great thing since you have to use it at there store and it seems like the majority of people are got cases etc for it, but I hope it won't take the whole 10 days they are expecting it to! Let me know how you 6/10ers do today

This morning, I too received the standard Verizon "I'm Sorry" email. Was excited at first thinking it might have been my tracking number, but I knew better. It's fine to give folks a heads up at this point, but this email should've gone out about two weeks ago. When I read it I rolled my eyes and thought, "Pfft... this is old news, Verizon." :rolleyes: I get more accurate information in this thread.

So let's keep thinking positively -- yesterday saw a lot of email notifications and phone deliveries. Maybe today will bring the same. Let's hope they start picking up the pace and getting everyone their order.

I received that email as well this morning. I agree, this email should have gone out a lot earlier to us consumers.

Hopefully today we will receive our tracking info.

Received no email giving me $25 credit. Received no shipping notice. Called this morning, no tracking number of course. The CSR said a manager was monitoring my order whatever that means. He said it could have shipped late and the tracking number might not be in the system (yeah, pigs fly eh?) My order was taken on the phone and no email address was assigned to my order so I will not receive a notification that it has been shipped so all I can do is keep calling. I will make one more call before I head out to pick up a Moto Droid and if it works out with receiption at cabin I will keep it (Froyo should make it faster in a few months anyway). At that time I will try to get credit assigned to my account, at least enough to cover the restocking fee if it comes next week when I am on vacation. In any case after today it will only be 730 days until I can cancel my verizon service.
 
I got the "We're Sorry" email too last night...
my location is Cincinnati, Oh
and 25 bucks is really nothing when you think about it....but at least it's something....
