Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Wow. Can't believe some people would call to complain about being informed of a delay. I guess you can't keep everyone happy no matter what you do. I would have appreciated a 'heads-up' rather than have to call in to find out where my phone was...:(

People are frustrated that they've waited this long, only to have to wait longer. I agree with the others that this email should have gone out sooner. The gift card is a joke, IMO. I'd much rather have a $25 credit against my bill, but that would be a dollar-for-dollar credit and, well, we wouldn't want to have that, now would we? :mad:

Received no email giving me $25 credit. Received no shipping notice. Called this morning, no tracking number of course. The CSR said a manager was monitoring my order whatever that means. He said it could have shipped late and the tracking number might not be in the system (yeah, pigs fly eh?) My order was taken on the phone and no email address was assigned to my order so I will not receive a notification that it has been shipped so all I can do is keep calling. I will make one more call before I head out to pick up a Moto Droid and if it works out with receiption at cabin I will keep it (Froyo should make it faster in a few months anyway). At that time I will try to get credit assigned to my account, at least enough to cover the restocking fee if it comes next week when I am on vacation. In any case after today it will only be 730 days until I can cancel my verizon service.

Twisted, I'm sorry if you posted it before but when was your order date? I'm sorry you're having to go through all this nonsense. Definitely hard to know what's going on when you don't even have the proper information and have to keep calling CS. :(
 
I received the apology letter also. My phone is supposed to ship today, at least that is what I was told by a CSR yesterday. I have not received a shipping confirmation as of yet, but it's still early. I also tried the Fed Ex thing; nothing there yet either. Tick tock................

I agree, SC. A gift card isn't going to do much for me at this point as I've already bought chargers, cases, screen protectors and an extended battery for the phone, which BTW we all know costs more than a mere 25 bucks. A credit to my monthly bill would have been the better offer.
 
I got this e-mail last night, but only after I sent a message to them on my ship by date of Monday. Pretty much in line with everything posted here. I'm only 2 days past my date, so I haven't received any $25 we're sorry message yet.

It is very tempting to get the Droid X instead. I went to the store the other day and held the EVO. It didn't seem that much bigger to me.

I wish the Samsung Fascinate was coming out in July. I have had other Samsung mobile devices and never had a problem with them. I even had the Samsung Sway a long time ago and never had a problem with it.

I agree, BL. As we're 6/7'ers I feel like we've invested all this time in waiting, and in purchasing accessories, etc., and it's a real let down to feel as though you have to stick it out and see it through or it was all for nothing. Damn you, Verizon!! :mad::mad::mad:

Order date was 6/7, ship date 6/28. I was told Sunday it may not go out for 5-10 days. Called Monday to verify and they told me it was going to ship out that day. Called yesterday and they said the order was "processed" and I could call back later for a tracking number. Called back late last night...no order number. They said call back in the morning as sometimes the late tracking numbers are not in the system. Called back this morning and well, you know the rest of the story.
Like most here I have been told I would be called back a couple of times, told I would be emailed once they figured it out, even told I would be texted. Nothing...no calls, emails, texts. This is where I have the big problem. Why should I have to keep calling? Yet this is my ony recourse since the person who took my order on the phone did not put an email on the order. Once the order is placed the information cannot be added.
I have been told I would be upgraded to next day shipping but according to other CSRs that can't be done because the order cannot be changned once placed. That is why they cannot add the email address.
All it would have taken for me not to be so pissed off was one phone call from one person who would give me one concrete answer.

I dont want a $25 gift card. I want credit on my bill. They can stick their gift card. I already have one of those for the rebate on my other phone.

Okay so you're pretty much in the same boat as BigLuke, rmreid, Rippin508 and myself. We're 6/7'ers and all still waiting for something... ANYTHING... just a shred of information. Yesterday we determined that there seemed to be a pattern of approximately 25-26 days before receiving any shipping info instead of the standard 3 week Ship By date that was given to everyone, and that if the pattern holds steady we could possibly be hearing something from them Friday. I want to believe that could be the case for us! As frustrating as it is we'll just have to wait it out because the way Verizon's been dealing with this, everything could be completely random and who knows how things will shake out. But if at least one of us doesn't hear something by the weekend I'm not exactly sure how I'm gonna feel by next week! May have to make my first CS call and go all postal on someone's a$$! :eek: But at least I'm in good company here! ;)

If you 6/7ers get your phone before me god help verizon. I ordered 6/5 and have been jerked around like nobodys business. My GF is a 6/7 and she has been joking me she will get it before me since we ordered. I will die.
 
My thought process is that we are hamstrung with being locked into 2 year deals ( I know annual upgrades after 1 year on main account all that stuff) so why wait about the same amount of time for a 3 month old phone when I can get just released phone in the same. And I like the bigger screen, the more area for my fat fingers the better

Good morning all, Off work the rest of the week (would have been great if my DInc would be coming, but who knows), so up a little later. I like a bunch of you recieved my letter from Verizon. I am actually very pleased, it is what I have been wanting Verizon to do since day one. I guess I am not as frustrated, because I didn't call CSRs and get 15 different answers. And for a few days of wait, 25 dollars isn't the worst thing in the world. Hopefully they come out with a car dock or desktop dock soon, as I have case and battery.

Glad to see blastoff got his shipping notice as a 6/7. Of course figures one of the most entertaining will be leaving first...

All I can say is that this whole process has been very frustrating and poorly handled by Verizon in their inconsistent message to the "Customers" on when the device would ship :mad:

As Ralph Cramden would say: "... one of these days ... Pow! Right in the kisser!"

Do you really think they will make the docs? I am thinking this whole incredible ship is sinking. First they are having problems with the phones. Then they have no phones to ship. They cannot even replace the bad ones. They will depend on 3rd parties to make the docs and to tell you the truth I would not be in the business of making any accesories for this phone right now.
 
My order date at Verizon store was
6/5/2010.

Called last night to inquire on the status (this was my first call about the phone). After being placed on hold forever while the CSR searched for my order, I was told that the phone was not ordered until 6/8/2010. I told them I had the receipt in my hand and it clearly stated 6/5/2010.

CSR stated that there were at least 10 day delays. I inquired why Verizon had not notified any of their customers of these delays. After all, some of us have been waiting over 3 weeks for this phone. CSR just blew the question off.

At this point, I asked if Verizon was compensating their customers for this delay. The CSR stated that he could give me $10 off my current bill for this month but nothing else.

Though I accepted the $10, I was definitely disappointed in this whole process.

With a new order date of 6/8/2010, when should I expect a delivery date notification now?

If I were a 6/5 I believe I'd be completely livid right now, but seeing as I'm a 6/7 I'm only borderline livid. :D All joking aside, believe me, I feel your frustration.

So being a 6/5'r turned unbeknownst to a 6/8'r who did NOT receive the apology email with a $25 gift certificte, I am starting to get livid.

No emails. No apologies. No phone. No clue. VERIZON
