Best Buy No Longer Taking Pre-orders

Crazy how fast it ended. Aookay said that a Verizon rep was just in his store like 2 days ago putting up giant signage for the Droid X pre-orders. Oh well, someone that works there will have a kewl Droid X sign in their house lol.

Each store probably is only getting 20-30 phones, so I'm not surprised by this. It doesn't mean you still can't get a phone in your hands on the 16th buy ordering from Verizon online. I'm sure they will have the most phones to offer anyway. At least I sure hope so.

Please don't tell me Motorola and Verizon have hyped this phone and it will take the path of the Droid Inc. If you are going to hype all these Android Smartphones, then the manufacturer should be able to get them in the hands of the consumer.

I'm banking on Motorola being able to do it!

yeah the verizon rep i spoke with told me there would be no shortages that motorola has it together lets hope. Because if they have another time like the incredible i could see many people jumping ship to the iphone 4 or EVO

Verizon learned its mistake with HTC... it will not do it again with Motorola.

so youre saying the droid x is in high demand?

hmmmm

i was going to state something regarding this, but i will hold that thought because it regards another unreleased phone in comparison.

the dominoes HAVE to fall, we will see what happens in the coming weeks

I'm saying that the Droid X will be in high supply vs. the "incredible" shortage of the Inc

code speak?

Won't hurt to try on the 15th if the VZW stores are packed. Depending on the market your local store may have stock after filling pre-orders. I know I pre-ordered on Sunday and I was 5th (but get mine 3rd because two others above me were employees).

My Best Buy allowed me to pre-order at 1pm today. I asked and I was only #5 though. I'm not in a very technologicaly advanced portion of the country.

I preordered on Monday, thank god I wasn't lazy that day. The only thing I question is no front facing camera, but, I have a macbook and NEVER video chat...I think I'll live.

in the best buy employee's thread, he states that he believes they pulled them because of massive demand. He then says that he did not witness that for the evo.

I think they stopped preorders so that they would not run into the back log they had with the icnredible. That way they could almost guarantee those who preordered theirs would get theirs and everyone else would have to wait or go to verizon to get it.

Because then they wouldn't have to deal with all of the irate customers who are waiting months to get a phone. This is just a safety guide to prevent that even though there is supposed to be no shortage lets just hope. And not using an amoled screen which alot of phones are using should help make manufacturing the phones easier and quicker
