I never knew ppl were saying the EVO didnt have a gpu. lol Its even there in the wiki....It just doesnt have a specific name at Qualcomm site.
To me, it is kinda hard to find detailed info about the Snapdragon.
I work in the semiconductor industry, so I knew where to look.
That's how I ended up grabbing the collected works and references on all of these processors - it started out as funny, this stuff all over the web:
"Say, Bob, this new Droid X/Galaxy/you-name-it is going to kill the competition because of its separate GPU!"
"That's right, Ted! Our interested readers may also like to know that GPU stands for Graphics Processor Unit, and with that separate one in that phone, people are going to have play catch up!"
"That's right, Bob! And they did it for an amazingly low price! What were the other guys thinking?"
"Right you are, Ted! Stay tuned for next week's YouTube where we slag the hell out of this product and tell you you're a buttmunch moron for not buying what we show you then!"
"Bob, when you're right, you're right! Keep those web advertising clicks coming on strong people!"
But when people starting CARING what the moron sites had to say - to the point of believing them, it gave me a brane dammige and now I'm insane and gonna die.
Just like that Teddy Bear salesman in that hilarious YouTube somebuddy else posted the other day. lol
PS - The choices are really simple.
1. Choose the network that suits you - I like Sprint and Sprint pricing.
2. Choose the best phone in your budget that meets your needs.
I didn't want to wait, I wanted the first 3G/4G phone with two-way video conferencing Skype-to-Skype using the Fring client and the ability to play movies out of an HDMI port.
Until someone makes the Global Link from the Earth: Final Conflict series - and a few have actually gotten a little in the neighborhood - I'm immune to device envy.
